Simon Dalzell 2 Posted 10/05/2022 at 20:01:35 Come on, you Villains. Paul Turner 3 Posted 10/05/2022 at 20:04:29 Great start, Villa!!! Brent Stephens 4 Posted 10/05/2022 at 20:05:10 Well that's a pleasant start. Dale Self 5 Posted 10/05/2022 at 20:05:27 Nice weekend extension there! Go Villa go! Rob Halligan 6 Posted 10/05/2022 at 20:06:05 Did Slippy celebrate? Tony Abrahams 7 Posted 10/05/2022 at 20:08:29 I knew it was too good to be true. Brent Stephens 9 Posted 10/05/2022 at 20:10:52 Rob, they didn't show Gerard, only Klopp reaction. Typical. Steve Cotton 10 Posted 10/05/2022 at 20:22:29 Standard of refereeing from Moss is diabolical... he might as well put a red shirt on – and Mr unbiased Carragher doesn't help. Tony Everan 11 Posted 10/05/2022 at 20:25:45 Becker got out of jail there! Brian Hennessy 12 Posted 10/05/2022 at 20:35:40 Ridiculous in this day and age that I can't watch this game tomorrow (or our last game for that matter) on the telly despite paying a small fortune for a Sky Sports package.Have made my mind up that, once this season is over, I'll never pay a penny to Sky or BT again. Tony Everan 13 Posted 10/05/2022 at 20:39:41 This diabolical refereeing, letting all sorts of late Liverpool tackles go, Villa getting penalised for next to nothing. Rob Halligan 14 Posted 10/05/2022 at 20:40:22 Jeez, how shit is Jon Moss!! Tony Abrahams 15 Posted 10/05/2022 at 20:55:34 Carragher should be on Liverpool television, and this referee is definitely the worst top-flight official I've ever seen. How Klopp can only have a problem with one official, when you have got people like Moss refereeing, is definitely beyond me, because the man is simply inept, but maybe this suits certain teams? Danny O’Neill 16 Posted 10/05/2022 at 21:01:35 I'm with the better half, who supports Villa. You can't make this standard of officiating up. Ridiculous. The cockney "boom" shout that sounded from someone behind me on the equaliser nearly got a reaction. But I'm better than that and more focussed on tomorrow. Paul Birmingham 17 Posted 10/05/2022 at 22:06:24 Danny Ings, must have forgot which team he was playing for, and John Moss, makes frame freeze look fast. The EFL, surely has to have fitness level tests for referees and linesman like they do for players.Billy Wright got binned for being overweight, and so should Moss, whom let the RS defence get away with the usual pulling and blatant fouls. He can't keep up with play and should be retired at the end of this season.Let's hope tomorrow that Everton beat Watford and Chelsea can do Leeds.UTFT! Tom Bowers 18 Posted 10/05/2022 at 22:55:05 RS should have been down to ten men after that early bad tackle from behind strafing the Villa players calf and then the stupid referee calls a foul against Villa when the Villa player goes down from the tackle and falls on the ball.Any other team would have had the man sent off but not RS.The league should look at that incident after the fact but you just know they won't. Gobshites ! Tony Abrahams 19 Posted 11/05/2022 at 07:31:26 I've just read that Moss, is retiring at the end of the season Paul, but the bigger issue to me, is how he's risen through the ranks, and been able to officiate at the top of the English game?I've watched Moss for years “buy himself a rest†with loads of appalling decisions, especially when the game reaches the last twenty minutes, and only a card is sufficient to slow the game down, simply because he has never had the legs to let the game flow. He's retiring - good fucking riddance - I just wish he could take a few of his colleagues with him. Allen Rodgers 20 Posted 11/05/2022 at 08:12:08 Gerrard has been quoted as saying Moss's performance should be looked at. Wonder if he'll get charged same as Lampard did?About that, it's strange we haven't had an update on the Lampard or Richarlison charges. Tony Abrahams 21 Posted 11/05/2022 at 08:18:34 What Gerard said, could be deemed to be even worse than what Lampard said, Allen, but they were both speaking the truth, and this is surely the biggest issue? #lets get referees to speak# Steve Oshaugh 22 Posted 11/05/2022 at 08:41:11 It hadn't occurred to me that we get better coverage of the games in New Zealand than the UK. Every game live... almost all in the middle of the night though. Only $25 a month too -- roughly £12-13, I guess. Very little in the way of midweek content or punditry. The rights have just gone back to Sky NZ which is a shame... think it will go up to $40 a month online only through beIN Sports, I guess. Paul Birmingham 23 Posted 11/05/2022 at 13:49:10 100% Tony, and you'd like to think that EPL, will break the mould this summer and take on board the feedback from the fans, and officials match adjudicators.I wait in hope but it's an element of the game along with VAR, which will turn football supporters away.Pray to God Everton, stay up, and it would be useful at the end of this campaign, for a TW vote on the virtues of VAR, and annual referee assessments, based on their physical, mental fitness and Laws of The Game. Now for Watford.UTFT! Neil Tyrrell 24 Posted 11/05/2022 at 19:36:23 Get in Mount! Great start for Chelsea v Leeds while I wait for our kick off. Christy Ring 25 Posted 12/05/2022 at 16:56:03 Just watched the Leeds game after ours, as the commentator said, how did Phillips get away with a yellow, it was 100% worse than Allan's sending off. Rob Halligan 26 Posted 12/05/2022 at 19:26:52 Regarding tonight's match, I think a Spurs win is the best for us. If Arsenal win, then the top 4 are sorted, but a Spurs win means they will be only a point behind Arsenal, and so will be looking to beat Burnley this weekend. Anyway, it's all irrelevant as both Leeds and Burnley will not be getting any more points this season. Brian Hennessy 27 Posted 12/05/2022 at 19:31:01 Didn't think of it that way, Rob, you could have a point. On the other hand, a Spurs win increases the chances of Arsenal needing something from their final game with us. Having said that, if it does come down to the last game, I'm not sure my heart will last the pace. Rob Halligan 28 Posted 12/05/2022 at 20:00:13 Brian, like you and everybody else, I don't want to be going to Arsenal needing a result, and the only way to prevent that is putting as much distance as possible between us and Burnley and Leeds, and that means Spurs still having a chance of Top 4. With our away record this season, there's no guarantee of us getting anything at Arsenal anyway, so Spurs win tonight means they will need to beat Burnley this weekend. Dale Self 29 Posted 12/05/2022 at 20:12:39 God, I hate Spurs but solid reasoning and the score is in so all-fucking-right... Go Spurs: 1-0. Rob Halligan 30 Posted 12/05/2022 at 20:20:32 Arsenal down to ten men. Holding sent off. Rob Halligan 31 Posted 12/05/2022 at 20:24:08 2-0. Kane free header at the back post from a corner. Poor defending by Arsenal. Paul Hughes 32 Posted 12/05/2022 at 20:25:59 2-0. Game over. Peter Carpenter 33 Posted 12/05/2022 at 20:26:46 If this keeping going Spurs can ease off and save themselves for Burnley. Neil Cremin 34 Posted 12/05/2022 at 20:30:03 With Spurs winning v Arsenal, that means we need to sort out our status before the last game or it will be squeaky bum time. Rob Halligan 35 Posted 12/05/2022 at 20:51:10 3-0. Think this game is over. Soren Moyer 36 Posted 12/05/2022 at 20:51:19 3 Peter Carpenter 37 Posted 12/05/2022 at 20:54:32 If this keeping going Spurs can ease off and save themselves for Burnley. Bill Gall 38 Posted 12/05/2022 at 22:13:56 Just seen the interview with M.Arteta. he refused to answer questions but he was definitely talking about the referee, and his decisions. doubt if anything is said about it Michael Lynch 39 Posted 12/05/2022 at 22:49:36 Not sure what Arteta was on about. Slighty dodgy pen, but the sending off was clear as day. Will Mabon 40 Posted 12/05/2022 at 23:11:33 Micheal, didn't watch the game, but the emotion of high stakes, possibly. That match was a kind of parallel to our game with Burnley, in terms of what Arsenal and Spurs are fighting for. Arsenal now have arguably the harder finish with their away game at Toon. Plus the difficult challenge of the Blue Boys on the last day, naturally. Jay Harris 41 Posted 12/05/2022 at 23:32:52 The good thing is they will be up for Burnley so we need to ensure we get points at the weekend.
