A strange take on things, given the huge sums that Everton and Moshiri has spent in the last 5 years. I'm sure if we sold our best player for £100M, then Everton would have reinvested the monies directly into the squad?

Oh and there's that little thing called FFP which is also preventing the amount of investment in the team that Moshiri may have wanted to spend this summer?

Oh and apart from his declared love for Arsenal, Usmanov has no financial links with the Gunners – at least in regards to being a shareholder.

Yes, Aston Villa have splashed out nearly £100M but they have also received £100M from Man City.

Let's say we sell Richarlison and Calvert-Lewin, we should get £100M or more for them. So who shall we buy? Who will come and will we be able to afford their wages? It seems it is not the cost for a player that is the problem but what we have found out and that is hurting us, is the outrageous contracts these players demand.

Bill Kenwright was to blame for the way the club was run, but we usually finished around the Top 8, and he always said we needed a money person for us to improve. He got us a money person with a not-too-silent partner and look where we are.

We have gone through managers every couple of seasons, each one leaving behind high priced signings on high wages who we can't give away, never mind sell. And now we have a manager who is left to pick up the pieces with very little to spend.

Let's not fawn over what other clubs do; let's see what happens, instead of speculating, when the season gets going.

Usmanov sold his Arsenal shares to Kroenke.

We dithered most years while a host of other teams spent cos we had no money.

Unfortunately, when it was our turn to "spend, spend, spend"... we were a bit like Viv Nicholson: we spent... but not wisely.

I don't think we'll be in a spending position again this side of Bramley-Moore Dock.

Feasibly the most clueless and ill-informed post I’ve seen on this site for quite some time.
