Disclaimer David Pearl 1 Posted 11/08/2021 at 22:28:08 We have virtually the same squad as last season so no reason why we cant have a good cup run with our 2 new wide players added.Anyone know if there is a ToffeeWeb or noredshite fantasy football league? Rob Halligan 2 Posted 11/08/2021 at 22:35:55 Just watching another cup game, the UEFA super cup between Chelsea and Villarreal. Gone to penalties, but with a minute to go of extra time, Chelsea subbed their goalie Mendy for Kepa. Is Mendy really bad at saving pens and Kepa exceptional? Maybe Kepa can take a penalty as well.Actually Mendy may be injured. 😳😳😳 Rob Halligan 3 Posted 11/08/2021 at 22:52:37 Whatever the reason for the goalie being subbed, Chelsea win 6-5 on pens. David Pearl 4 Posted 11/08/2021 at 22:58:20 Rob, and the '85 super cup game we lost out on... Alan J Thompson 5 Posted 12/08/2021 at 14:53:09 Is Oumar still with them as I remember seeing something that said he had joined Huddersfield. Mike Hayes 6 Posted 12/08/2021 at 15:05:04 Alan - he's just been released - get him on a free 🤔 Alan J Thompson 7 Posted 12/08/2021 at 15:13:58 Mike(#6); Given our forays into the transfer market so far it appears that the price is right. Derek Knox 8 Posted 15/08/2021 at 21:21:51 Mike @ 6, I heard he will only come back if he gets a locker. :-) Neil Copeland 9 Posted 15/08/2021 at 21:35:22 Derek, and a suit Derek Knox 10 Posted 15/08/2021 at 21:39:01 He couldn't play in a suit Neil, come to think of it he couldn't play without a suit. :-) Derek Knox 11 Posted 15/08/2021 at 21:39:52 Couldn't fault his spirit though! John Raftery 12 Posted 16/08/2021 at 18:34:11 According to the Huddersfield website the tie will be played on Tuesday 24th with a 7.45 pm kick off. Derek Taylor 13 Posted 17/08/2021 at 13:35:02 Does anyone recall whether or not Benitez used to take this trophy seriously? We could do with a trophy even if it has long been devalued by managers playing 'the stiffs'? Ray Robinson 14 Posted 17/08/2021 at 13:40:59 Huddersfield have limited the number of tickets for away fans as they want to give their own fans maximum opportunity to attend. Sounds like they don't want to be outnumbered at a home match! On another note, Leeds have priced their tickets at £30 (fair enough) with a whole ONE pound concession for OAP's! John Raftery 15 Posted 17/08/2021 at 14:53:41 Derek (13) In recent seasons playing the lower league teams has not been a problem. We have mostly failed against the top sides. Martinez took it seriously in 2015/16 reaching the semi-final only to lose to Man City. In 2017/18 we lost 2-1 at Chelsea, 2019/20 we lost 1-2 to Leicester and last season 0-2 to Man United, each time with the strongest available team. Ray Roche 16 Posted 17/08/2021 at 14:58:46 John, didn't we lose to Leicester on penalties? Derek Taylor 17 Posted 17/08/2021 at 16:09:38 My enquiry really focussed on Rafa's record at Liverpool. I seem to remember he generally played fringe players! John Raftery 18 Posted 17/08/2021 at 17:57:16 Ray, you are right of course. It was 2-2 after ninety minutes thanks to goals from Davies and Baines. Mea culpa! Peter Thistle 19 Posted 25/08/2021 at 10:10:02 Moise Kean's goal was sweet – pity it wrongfully got disallowed.
