Kick-off is at 12:30 BST. Luke Butterfield starts for the U18s, having come on as a sub for the U23s against Arsenal last night, with Martin Sherif and Emilio Lawrence both missing from the normal line-up — and there are only three players on the Everton subs bench. Halid Djankpata got Everton off to a great start with a goal after just 8 minutes. But the visitors giot a goal back in the second half and that's how it finished. Disclaimer Phill Thompson 1 Posted 23/10/2021 at 20:54:24 1-1 was the final score. The U16s are away in a tournament, so U18s regulars Sherif, Lawrence and Samuels-Smith are with them. They've topped their Group and are in the semi-final of the tournament which takes place Sunday, possibly the Final on Sunday too if they reach it. Robert Tressell 2 Posted 23/10/2021 at 22:50:24 Phill, thanks as ever for the update. The prospect of seeing these kids fulfil their potential in the first team keeps the hope alive on an otherwise crap day. Brent Stephens 3 Posted 23/10/2021 at 22:53:18 Thanks, Phill. As Robert says, hope springs eternal. Phill Thompson 4 Posted 24/10/2021 at 21:58:10 It seems from a quick Google search that the U16s lost to Chelsea 2-1 in the final. Trevor Edwards 5 Posted 25/10/2021 at 12:53:32 Thanks Phill. I was wondering where they were... Why only 3 subs for the U18s... Dave Williams 6 Posted 25/10/2021 at 17:31:12 Marco? Do me a favour!!
