Writing in a blog for supporters, the American architect discusses the new stadium build at Bramley-Moore Dock, the importance of fan engagement, and the pressure involved in providing a worthy replacement for the historic Goodison Park… » Read the full article at Evertonfc.com Reader Comments (25) Note: the following content is not moderated or vetted by the site owners at the time of submission. He mentioned The Chairman (Kenwright) but never once mentioned the owner. The closest was him saying 'the club'. "From the moment the chairman saw a sketch..." Bobby Mallon 2 Posted 16/11/2021 at 12:01:03 It seems to me it was Bill who brought him back. Brian Murray 3 Posted 16/11/2021 at 12:07:52 Bobby. If a savvy professional outfit could get by on emotional cack-handed decisions, we would be on our third Champions League by now. Good that the architect is brought back. That's as close to a compliment the Dreamcoat Dope will get from me. Michael Kenrick 4 Posted 16/11/2021 at 12:19:37 "What an Architect!!!" Bobby Mallon 5 Posted 16/11/2021 at 12:44:06 Brian, I agree. It just shows though that he's still got sway in the club. Derek Knox 6 Posted 16/11/2021 at 21:52:02 Bobby and Brian, yes too much sway, if you ask me! Mark Andersson 7 Posted 18/11/2021 at 01:44:11 Is Bill paying Dan's wages then? Barry Hesketh 8 Posted 21/11/2021 at 20:40:25 Dan Meis (@Meisarch) tweeted this at roughly half-time in today's match:Fucking hell…there IS another half of this field is there not??He now knows what it's like to follow Everton FC, but a risky thing to post for someone employed by the club? The video posted below shows the progress being made at the dock which was filmed today by Barry Hancox. BMD footage from today Allen Rodgers 9 Posted 25/11/2021 at 17:03:03 'Expands on his reinvolvment' says the header. He's certainly expanded his waistline since I last saw him in St Lukes! Probably a good idea to bring him back though. Be like a new signing. Rob Halligan 10 Posted 25/11/2021 at 18:22:42 Seems like there is going to be at least one or two new videos showing the construction of the new stadium at Bramley-Moore Dock every week now. At least until the webcam is up and running. This one has been produced by Laing O'Rourke themselves:Future of Everton stadium revealed in stunning new Bramley-Moore Dock virtual video Philip Bunting 11 Posted 25/11/2021 at 18:56:52 How hard is it to get a webcam up and running. I mean really, the club have been at the ground now from July. Brilliant vid by Laing that. Rob Halligan 12 Posted 25/11/2021 at 20:24:58 Haha....... it looks like the Red Echo may well read TW after all, and is having a good old swipe at some miserable sods who moan about the club only releasing news on the new stadium at Bramley-Moore Dock after a bad result. ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ðŸ˜.Everton fans should not make new stadium mistake as anger helps nobody Brian Murray 13 Posted 25/11/2021 at 20:39:51 Where and when is the breaking point for these apparent Kenwright Everton supporters? If we end up in a real relegation battle, is he still a Great Emotional Playwrite Evertonian who just happened to run the club at the worst time? Deluded or what? Get a grip and get him gone, Blues. David Pearl 15 Posted 25/11/2021 at 20:40:22 I agree with him, Rob. Barry Hesketh 16 Posted 25/11/2021 at 21:16:48 The Twittersphere, Facebook, Grand Old Team all have similar posts to what appears on here, the difference is on here we get varying points of view, mostly with reasonable backup to support arguments - but as with most sites, there will be those who post the same simple soundbites ad nauseam. That shouldn't mean that all of TW's contributors are tarred with the same brush. Barry Hesketh 17 Posted 25/11/2021 at 21:33:22 I meant to add that Adam Jones has probably been briefed by the club that this is a sensitive time with regards to raising money for the BMD project and any negativity surrounding the club would make that job more difficult. The simple solution is for the team to start giving maximum effort and much of the negativity will be diluted. I don't remember our neighbour's fans being chastised in quite the same way – maybe I missed it. Paul Smith 18 Posted 25/11/2021 at 22:52:38 Say what you want about how shite we are at the moment but that is a beautiful stadium. Ken Kneale 19 Posted 26/11/2021 at 08:09:45 Rob 12 - in the interests of balanced reporting and journalism, I look forward to the same article writing penning a similar headline at the miserable sods within Everton FC who moan about the supporters' complaints about the 30 years managed (should that be mismanaged) decline of the club during which time our football stock and reputation as a footballing giant within the English game has been traduced. Rob Halligan 20 Posted 26/11/2021 at 08:14:20 Ken, get in touch with the Red Echo. I'm sure they will be honoured to pen such an article. Ken Kneale 21 Posted 26/11/2021 at 20:41:13 Hi Rob, I did get as high as the editor some years ago to complain about coverage; it does not seem to have improved. I must try harder – you have spurred me to repeat my complaints. Rob Halligan 22 Posted 26/11/2021 at 20:49:00 Go for it Ken. Dave Prentice is the one you need to get in touch with, and not Adam Jones who penned the article in question. Kieran Kinsella 23 Posted 26/11/2021 at 20:58:08 Adam Jones is a child barely out of school and writes regurgitated clickbait articles. His job is to report the news, not to complain about people complaining about things. Proper journos report the facts. Children and fan boys take a call from Kenwright and get all flustered and let him dictate their work. Ken Kneale 24 Posted 26/11/2021 at 21:54:17 In fairness, I did get a return phone call last time, I won't name out of courtesy to his candid comments initially, but it is clear that when he was pinned down on a couple of points, corporate-speak took over – they do not want to rock the EFC boat. Geoff Williams 25 Posted 30/11/2021 at 20:09:42 Interestingly Bramley-Moore, after whom the dock was named, made part of his fortune from trading in slaves in Brazil. Surely there should be some urgency in naming the stadium. Lyndon Lloyd 26 Posted 30/11/2021 at 20:26:34 Not really, Geoff. We dealt with it here.
