Then "Oh cack!" ...lol. I remembered they are top flight now – and more than a match for some!

If we can't beat them at home we don't deserve to win cup anyway. Could be a much worse draw.

Think it all depends on how results go in the next 3 league games before Brentford. If we are right in the mire and perilously close to that bottom 3 we'll need to shift the focus to the league, a week later is a potential 6 pointer away to Newcastle.

Winnable as long as the manager doesn't pick the team by throwing darts at a list of names – as in recent weeks.

Could be worse. Home advantage might just see us through. And of course all our new signings.

The 4th round is 4 weeks away. Time to get a few injured players back, maybe one or two more signings, get a couple of league wins, (or hopefully all three) and then take Brentford to the cleaners on our way to the 5th Round.

My cynical side says that the usual suspects will make the latter stages of this years competition seeing as it's the 150th anniversary of the FA Cup. My guess would be Chelsea/Arsenal v Liverpool/Man Utd in the final. Spurs or West Ham may have a chance if one of the media faves manages to get knocked out before the semi-finals.

Obviously my hopeful side says that Everton will storm their way to the final and coast to a cup final triumph in May, but I think I overdone my meds earlier today.

That's the fighting spirit needed Rob, for the rest of this season.

If We are going to win the cup we've got to beat them all!

What date is the 5th round? And quarter finals? Semi Final is late April I believe.

According to my information the 5th Round is scheduled for the 2nd March (Midweek) and the QF's scheduled for 19th March (weekend)

Semis are scheduled for 16th April (weekend)

Thanks Barry, I'm getting ahead of myself again, but as James says, we definitely owe them one.

In fact no, our team owe the fans one after that showing we endured at their very impressive but oddly shaped new stadium.

Is a home tie against a side like Brentford really an advantage for us? Not so sure about that.

Happy enough with that. It could have been worse. We're still in it so at some point I'm expecting PL opposition.

I'm going with Barry and looking to 2nd March and beyond Martin.

The next round is Sat 5th Feb, so we will have had all our ins and outs transfers sorted by then, and the new signings to have had plenty of time to bed in.

Should have Richarlison and Calvert-Lewin up to speed as well.

All we can ask for is better luck on the injury front, where we can field our strongest 11, and get a run going, without Any more disruptions.

I see Liverpool's game has been picked for TV on Sunday. No TV game listed for us this round so fingers crossed that means a Saturday 3 pm kick-off vs Brentford. See you all there - except that old Spanish bloke hopefully!

Just a warning to any season ticket holders if you are going to the FA Cup game against Brentford. After the delayed sale date last week my online account wouldn't let me buy a ticket. The FA cup match didn't appear as an available game. I assumed that I'd signed up for the AutoCup scheme but on checking again today still couldn't see a ticket order. Rang the club, 2 hours on hold, and bought ticket that way. Apparently no AutoCup payments this season and I was told there are other season tickets with the same issue i.e. couldn't buy online last week.
