Disclaimer John Kavanagh 1 Posted 10/02/2022 at 19:02:16 What the Fuck! Thursday night? Anyway, I look forward to seeing an organised defence where every player knows his role, puts in a shift and knows how to keep a clean sheet. It will be interesting to see how our forwards perform against them. Howard Don 2 Posted 10/02/2022 at 19:34:52 Not Everton's fault but Thursday night 8:15, no thought for the fans as usual. Tickets for these games are usually quite cheap and more readily available, hence people often take the chance to take younger kids along. Fat chance with an 8:15 kick off on a school night. Kieran Kinsella 3 Posted 10/02/2022 at 21:02:11 Our quarter-final will be on 19 March which means postponing the Watford trip. Maybe a few back from injury for that trip. And yes I did just tempt fate by saying we will be in the quarter-final. If we aren't, then I give up. Martin Reppion 5 Posted 11/02/2022 at 09:40:57 Happy days.Sorry for being selfish but I couldn't make Tuesday or Wednesday due to work, and even 7:30 Thursday was going to be a squeeze travelling up from Nottingham.Looking forward to seeing the side continue to develop. I won't panic over results in the meantime. We will be okay, but there are going to be a few steps back for all the steps forward. There is a lot of crap to clean up and Frank will need time and understanding. The problem he has to contend with is the same as every manager for the past 6 years. The squad is unbalanced. From attacking midfield forward, he has options and a lot of players performing well. How do you drop Gordon, Townsend, Richarlison (and until his injury, Gray) to accommodate Dele and Donny?Behind that, there is the problem that Allan and Gomes seem to be the only option in the heart of midfield. The defenders, like other midfield players, are dropping at an alarming rate, and Benitez dumped our experienced left-back and replaced him with 'potential'.We have to rely on the Goodison factor to gain us that extra edge. At least until the treatment room looks less like an episode from M*A*S*H. Dave Abrahams 6 Posted 11/02/2022 at 11:06:08 Just come back from Goodison Park having bought my ticket for this cup game. Got my season ticket activated and also asked for a paper ticket as well in case of any difficulties getting in on the day. I was given that so I'm set and waiting to see who we play in the quarter-final – nothing like being optimistic is there? Allen Rodgers 7 Posted 11/02/2022 at 11:36:12 Belt and braces Dave ? I got my ST loaded online but have taken the preaution of printing the relative web page, which I will take with ! Regarding the QF we already know it will be the RS away. Danny O’Neill 8 Posted 11/02/2022 at 11:36:22 No option to buy online as yet.Forget the quarter finals Dave. Wembley it is. Dave Abrahams 9 Posted 11/02/2022 at 11:43:19 Allen (7), Yes belt and braces and a spare pair of clean kecks on the day just in case the impossible becomes a bleedin' nightmare result!! Jon Harding 10 Posted 11/02/2022 at 12:33:53 I admire your Wembley optimism Danny @ 8. Certainly looks like a free pass into the quarters! If you want a good omen, the last time I saw us win an FA Cup 4th round tie was 1995 at Ashton Gate (Matty Jackson screamer) and we all know what happened after that. I was also at the Brentford match earlier this month game so fingers crossed. Mike Allen 11 Posted 11/02/2022 at 19:31:04 Dreadful date and time, special day spoilt, absolutely no thought for away supporters. TV killing all sports. Tony Abrahams 12 Posted 11/02/2022 at 19:56:09 Bristol City absolutely pulverised us Jon, but that was one of those “we shall not be moved†days, something to look back fondly on, as the years go past quicker and quicker. It's now over half my lifetime since I saw us win a trophy and yet I'm one of the lucky ones, because I can still remember cup runs like the one in 1995. Jon Harding 13 Posted 11/02/2022 at 23:38:11 You're not wrong there TonyI remember Limpar being kicked up in the air and the ref just waving play on.And bricks from an open skip being lobbed at us after the game by the angry yokels.Happy days Francis van Lierop 14 Posted 12/02/2022 at 11:08:05 Ridiculous. Not pleased at all. Steavey Buckley 15 Posted 14/02/2022 at 20:13:58 Boreham Wood, the giant killers over Bournemouth, lost to Wrexham 3:0 over the weekend.
