Bill Gall 2 Posted 22/10/2022 at 13:58:40 I pay for Fubo tv to watch the premier league hope they get their act together when the Everton game is on, I don't know if any one else has a problem with them but they are the worst coverage of the premier league league ever, I have watched 2 Everton games before that were 15min behind the actual game, and watching the Forest game today they have interrupted it with commercials and come back with a different game warming up. Will Mabon 3 Posted 22/10/2022 at 14:05:55 Jeez, Bill. Get yourself well practiced with any half-decent laptop and play the link game. Frustrations can be minimized and you aren't being ripped off. Bill Gall 4 Posted 22/10/2022 at 14:22:31 Will I have new laptop but I watch the games on TV and use the laptop to to keep up to date with other games or contribute to ToffeeWeb.like Liverpool just loosing to FOREST Will Mabon 5 Posted 22/10/2022 at 14:32:39 Bill, I wasn't being patronizing but didn't know your set-up.I do similar to you, with two laptops or screens. With things set well, watching games via links is pretty viable now, bit of input needed here and there but (mostly) perfectly fine when viewed against some of the costs (and "Quality") of the pay options. As to your last line - what a great result to start the weekend! Michael Lynch 6 Posted 22/10/2022 at 14:42:22 Klopp is such a moaner. You'd think his team was the only one playing three games this week. He sounds like his head's gone totally. So many excuses and blaming everyone else. Michael Kenrick 7 Posted 22/10/2022 at 17:20:07 I know a goal at the near post is automatically a keeper error, but watch that strike by Trossard for Brighton against one of the best in Man City's Ederson. So no, I don't buy "automatic keeper error". Will Mabon 8 Posted 22/10/2022 at 17:22:25 Too many successful attacks and strikes are put down to defensive "Mistakes". David Pugh 9 Posted 22/10/2022 at 21:25:04 Watching the sky Game of the Day, man City v Brighton, and I'm sorry, but that penalty decision for city is outrageous. Bernardo Silva clearly leaves his left leg outstretched, knowing there would be contact from the Brighton defender, and hey ho, down he goes. Never a penalty in my opinion, and Silva should be booked for simulation. Yet again referees are conned by the actions of the so called big six clubs. Will Mabon 10 Posted 22/10/2022 at 22:13:25 David, I saw the Sky highlights earlier on YT. I'd go further and say he even extended his leg unnaturally offline into the Brighton player's space to make the contact. The ball was going out of his reach too, it looked. So much fakery. Tony Hill 11 Posted 22/10/2022 at 22:15:22 What makes it worse is that he went and watched it on the telly before giving the decision. Brent Stephens 12 Posted 22/10/2022 at 22:15:30 Will, simulation. Pure and simple. Yellow card for Silva. Refs have got to get on top of this. Will Mabon 13 Posted 22/10/2022 at 22:24:25 If you watch these Sky highlights, you see the full extent of it all, from two angles in two speeds, it actually looks obvious even in full speed. The ref at first has a completely uninterested bearing, until the pressure comes onto him.LinkFrom 1.00. Yep, simulation. David Pugh 14 Posted 22/10/2022 at 22:28:46 Still watching this man city game, and I can't believe the number of empty seats at the Etihad, despite city winning 3-1. Is Goodison the same when we are comfortably winning? I've had a season ticket for years, but have never noticed if the stadium empty's out several minutes before the end when we have a comfortable lead? Will Mabon 15 Posted 22/10/2022 at 22:32:37 That doesn't happen at Goodison, David, not on any great scale that I've seen. Only ever was the away fans, back when the cops used to ship them out early. David Pugh 16 Posted 22/10/2022 at 22:42:26 Will, I consider man City fans to be like us, very loyal and a lot of local fans, so why they feel the need to empty out before the final whistle is a mystery to me. Will Mabon 17 Posted 22/10/2022 at 22:50:46 Could be for the exit grand prix perhaps? Don't remember it being so bad to get away from when I was there. Place sometimes looks part empty from the off, hence the nickname. Kieran Kinsella 18 Posted 22/10/2022 at 23:03:13 DavidI think City's loyal local fan base is 25,000 - 30,000 which they got at Maine Rd. Some of them are priced out now. I suspect the additional 25,000 they've picked up at the Etihad are corporate seats, glory hunters and out of towners worrying about catching trains David Pugh 19 Posted 22/10/2022 at 23:24:02 Interesting to hear Danny Murphy consider James Tarkowski the best English centre half in premier league at the moment. I would think that Conor Coady is actually playing better than Tarkowski, so what are the odds on both our centre backs starting for England at the World Cup? Personally I think Coady will go only as a squad member, and probably not get a single minute on the pitch, while unfortunately Tarkowski won't get a look in. Southgate will no doubt pick Harry “Do you know who I am†Maguire, and Eric Dier, who sometimes performs like his surname, Dire! Will Mabon 20 Posted 22/10/2022 at 23:35:48 Wow, Murphy said that? Did he look drunk, or coked up?You're likely right about Southgate's choices, David. Colin Glassar 21 Posted 22/10/2022 at 00:01:47 Murphy always looks suicidal after the rs lose a game, Will. Will Mabon 22 Posted 23/10/2022 at 13:02:12 Colin :-) David Pugh 23 Posted 23/10/2022 at 14:10:31 Danny's missus will be happy. Villa 1 up against Brentford. Actually, make that 2 in the first seven minutes.Arsenal 1-0. Was only a matter of time. David Pugh 24 Posted 23/10/2022 at 14:18:29 Villa going mental at Villa Park. 3-0 after 14 minutes. Ings now has two, including a penalty. Danny O’Neill 25 Posted 23/10/2022 at 14:19:20 Yep I'm smiling. Sort of!!! Joe McMahon 26 Posted 23/10/2022 at 14:20:33 Looking at Villa now 3 up, this is exactly why managers should be given more time (at least Forest did), as we also know from our experience. Moyes: 11 years; some Everton managers, barely 11 minutes. Will Mabon 27 Posted 23/10/2022 at 14:22:37 Joe, could just as easily be, that they are now performing with the creases ironed out. David Pugh 28 Posted 23/10/2022 at 14:25:20 Goals flying in everywhere. Leeds 1-0 against Fulham and Leicester 2 up at Wolves. Bill Gall 29 Posted 23/10/2022 at 14:27:30 Does the scoreline at Villa show that the players did not want to play for slippy G. Will Mabon 30 Posted 23/10/2022 at 14:33:27 It's all still so tight. If we'd lost yesterday (any score), know where we'd be right now? In the Bottom 3. Joe McMahon 31 Posted 23/10/2022 at 14:33:52 Will & Bill, we will never know, but Rangers players didn't have a problem. On another note, good to see David Unsworth get a win under his belt yesterday as they have been on a bad run. Will Mabon 32 Posted 23/10/2022 at 14:36:18 Joe, true, no certainties, and no full picture for us as outsiders.I hope Unsworth can continue from here - for him and the team. Jim Bennings 33 Posted 23/10/2022 at 15:26:45 I think Wolves may be going "wandering" this season and at the end of the season could find their destination in the Championship.Leicester were always going to be too good to go down and again, sack managers at your peril, they could have blown Brendan out of the water a few weeks ago but just goes to show, don't pull the trigger too fast. Michael Kenrick 34 Posted 23/10/2022 at 15:27:22 Very nice equalizer from Armstrong for Southampton. Mikel not happy, gesticulating like a madman. Jim Bennings 35 Posted 23/10/2022 at 15:38:08 Chevy Chase might be getting the shepherd's crook next.Fulham looking a really tidy side under Marco, I think he's finally starting to develop as a manager. He's still a relatively young man in terms of the managerial world, much like our Frank. Will be a tough old trip next Saturday teatime for us and we need to bring yesterday's performance to the table because anything sloppy like at Newcastle will see us get turned over. Bill Gall 36 Posted 23/10/2022 at 15:46:29 Leeds down by 3-1 wonder if there may be more firings? Wolves only have an interim manager so there may be a change there even though he was informed he was in for the rest of the year. Kieran Kinsella 37 Posted 23/10/2022 at 15:51:51 Is Jesse Marsch going to file a complaint against Fulham for scoring too many goals? Colin Metcalfe 38 Posted 23/10/2022 at 15:57:13 Gutted about the Leicester result, would absolutely love them to go down. Will Mabon 39 Posted 23/10/2022 at 16:00:00 Jim, it's a biggie alright, to get towards mid-table as opposed to above relegation.Fulham playing well but not a great defence, have conceded 22 goals. We need to take the attack we showed yesterday onto the road now. Joe McMahon 40 Posted 23/10/2022 at 16:00:31 Not sure why Colin, a side that dared to win major trophies outside the Sky/BBC adoration clubs. Don't like Vardy (I'll give you that). Colin Metcalfe 41 Posted 23/10/2022 at 16:11:16 I have had the unfortunate opportunity to spend time with their delusional fans – talk about entitlement, they talk as if they football royalty. The way the club treated Ranieri was nothing short of a disgrace, I honestly despise them. Jim Bennings 42 Posted 23/10/2022 at 16:35:26 I can't say I despise Leicester.I get that their fans have probably got carried away a bit and like all fan bases, they have a dickhead section that are Billy Big Boots. But in fairness to Leicester they have won 3 domestic Cups and a league title in the last 25 years, so they do have some right to brag off.The Geordies on the other hand have won sweet FA for more than half a century yet, after two good seasons under Keegan, they elevate themselves into thinking they are a bigger club than Everton.Leicester don't think they are a big club, they are an average sized club that has had a good amount of success in the last 2 decades. David Pugh 43 Posted 23/10/2022 at 16:42:49 Jim, you're right about the deluded Geordies. No way on this earth are they a bigger club than us. As you say, the last major honour they won was the old Fairs Cup in the 1968-69 season. The last time they won the league was in the 1926-27 season, 95 years ago!! They won the Intertoto in 2006 and were Championship winners in 2017, but to me, they are not major honours. Bill Gall 44 Posted 23/10/2022 at 16:45:59 I wonder if Leeds hierarchy will be taking a hard look at Jesse Marsch as they say he only has 2 points from the last 24. Jim Bennings 45 Posted 23/10/2022 at 16:53:58 David 43,It's something that exists only within the boundaries of Newcastle. They don't possess a crumb of evidence to back up the grand ideas they have of being this huge club, but primarily it's because they get 52,000 in a one-team city. Some sound Geordie's don't get me wrong but those with false grandeur are pure bellendery at the highest order. Nick Page 46 Posted 23/10/2022 at 17:02:11 Biggest dickhead clubs in football, ranked:1. Red shite, hands down. And that's not a biased opinion. In every category.2. Spurs. So over-rated for so long it's almost become a self fulfilling prophecy. Champions League by tacit media campaign. Friends in high places lol. Don't you even fucking ever dare to compare them to us. 3. Barcodes. Absolutely horrendous bunch of inbred one horse town no marks who haven't won anything since the mid-1950s. They're an absolute joke but the media loves backing these.4. Aston Villa. Another inbred shower but they've at least won a big pot so have to give them some leeway. Everything else won pretty much before electricity. Like having an argument with Preston fans who got lucky one year.5. Leeds. Amazing how the media fawns over these bad racists. It's weird. Had a few good years in the '70s when the NF were big but were as dirty as fuck. And somehow scraped a title in 92 with Howard Yorkshireman. The rest are just average dickheads. Leicester have some margin to boast to be fair, and good luck to them. Anyone who can break the Sky / FA glass ceiling is okay with me. Michael Kenrick 47 Posted 23/10/2022 at 17:09:03 Probably the right decision on that Wilson goal for the Geordies. He just ran into Lloris... unavoidable? Although if that's anyone on Pickford and we'd be screaming Blue murder, bias and corruption of the highest degree. It's a funny old game. David Pugh 48 Posted 23/10/2022 at 17:09:58 Well to me, that Newcastle goal should have been disallowed. How many times do we see an outfield player knock the ball past an opponent, who just happens to be in close proximity to the player playing the ball, and “blocks him off†from chasing the ball, and a foul awarded. That's what happened for the Newcastle goal. Lloris chested the ball past Wilson who blocked Lloris, but not only blocking him, by putting his arm around Lloris. Definite foul by Wilson. Michael Lynch 49 Posted 23/10/2022 at 17:10:03 Goes without saying that the RS are the biggest dickhead club, but I'd have the Barcodes at number two right now. Absolute embarrassment of a fan-base, with their fat naked bellies and stupid accents, now owned by a murdering scumbag regime of oil snakes, yet no shame at all about it in the Toon. All that shit they chat about us being Scouse Mackems, they're Geordie Red Shite.Other than those two, I don't really have a problem with any other club, though the Leeds fans are in some kind of 1970s time-warp. Last time they came to Goodison, some of their twerps were trying to pick fights with the police horses, that's how laughably thick they are. Bill Gall 50 Posted 23/10/2022 at 17:11:21 Newcastle 2 up Michael Lynch 51 Posted 23/10/2022 at 17:12:33 Lloris having a mare today Michael Lynch 52 Posted 23/10/2022 at 17:13:58 Lot of hype now around Newcastle. They're a decent Top 8 club on a good run at the moment. Spurs are poor, getting found out a lot at the moment. Mike Gaynes 53 Posted 23/10/2022 at 17:15:15 Wow, Spurs getting their heads handed to them at the moment. David, Wilson just stood there and Lloris ran into him. He's not allowed to obstruct, but he's also not required to get out of the way. Could have gone either way, but I'm 51-49 with the ref on that one. Colin Metcalfe 54 Posted 23/10/2022 at 17:16:56 Got to say, with a little bit more composure, this could've easily been us leading Spurs 2-0 in the first half last week... Jim Bennings 55 Posted 23/10/2022 at 17:16:59 Spurs looking average, but then I wasn't overly impressed with them against us either.Arguably it could have been us 2-0 up at half-time if Gray and Onana had scored.Conte doesn't stick around anywhere long, I'll give him 'til the end of the season before he's saying ciao. Will Mabon 56 Posted 23/10/2022 at 17:17:26 Newcastle looking very composed too, better than when they played us. David Pugh 57 Posted 23/10/2022 at 17:21:32 Mike 53. I agree, not sure what Wilson was meant to do, but it happens all the time all over the pitch. A player gets blocked off when the blocking player is in close proximity, having no chance to get out of the way, yet a foul is always given for obstruction. Jim Bennings 58 Posted 23/10/2022 at 17:22:06 Newcastle don't have many great players at present, Guimares and Almiron are playing extremely well and Wilson always a threat. It goes to show with a little bit of belief and ambition, you can take a club a long way. That's what I hope Frank can do for us, get into the players minds and ignore much of the boardroom nonsense of what Farhad used to come out with about "we don't expect to win those games".Why fucking not? This league outside Manchester City is there for anyone to have a pop at, and we should be going away to Spurs and basically saying "Who the fuck are you".Fear gets you nowhere. Simon Dalzell 59 Posted 23/10/2022 at 17:26:35 Redknapp talking shite. That's never a foul on clown lloris. Spurs are very moderate. They were against us. Soren Moyer 60 Posted 23/10/2022 at 17:27:13 David, 19, Lol, I am the captain of Man Utd! Probably wanted VIP treatment from Greek police lol. Tony Everan 61 Posted 23/10/2022 at 17:39:11 Bruno Guinessmares running the show, always seems to find space. Mike Gaynes 62 Posted 23/10/2022 at 17:46:21 David #57, true enough. As our old friend Tim Howard said on NBC, if the ref had whistled a foul against Wilson immediately, before he got the shot away, it wouldn't have been much disputed. I myself have called it both ways, depending on the phase of the moon and what I had for lunch. Bill Gall 63 Posted 23/10/2022 at 17:46:38 Well, Spurs get away with giving away a penalty with handball and go up the other end and are given an offside goal. Tony Everan 64 Posted 23/10/2022 at 17:49:48 Bill, I cannot understand that, clear as day offside, an unbelievable decision. Did the VAR not see that it came off a Tottenham player? The Harry Kane factor at work, he seems to get a lot of decisions in his favour. Stephen Smyth 65 Posted 23/10/2022 at 18:03:42 Can't upset the England skipper can we now.. Tony Everan 66 Posted 23/10/2022 at 18:07:00 Maybe we're wrong and they saw it differently from a better angle? It is situations like that, if you could hear what the VAR was saying in justifying his decision, everything would be clear. Bill Gall 67 Posted 23/10/2022 at 18:13:14 Tony, You have to laugh: Tottenham, the masters of time-wasting, complaining to the ref about Newcastle time-wasting! Jack Convery 68 Posted 23/10/2022 at 18:17:03 On another note, I notice the RS Smurphy said that the City player hung his leg out to get a penalty against Brighton. Which was right. However, he never condemned Kane for what he did to get the penalty against Pickford last week – Hypocrite and a thoroughly useless pundit. Bill Gall 69 Posted 23/10/2022 at 18:20:45 This ref at Spurs is managing to control a game that could get out of hand, now Newcastle have brought on their hatchet man Shelvey. Bill Gall 70 Posted 23/10/2022 at 18:28:56 Wonder where Everton will be putting the away team's supporters in the new stadium? David Pugh 71 Posted 23/10/2022 at 18:30:54 Bill, hopefully over the water in Prenton Park.Seriously though, the away fans will be located in the northeast corner of the stadium. Barry Rathbone 72 Posted 23/10/2022 at 18:32:31 Newcastle joining City and Chelsea in demonstrating that, in order to follow the SAF blueprint of buying success, you MUST have a shedload of dough. Can Arsenal do a Leicester and be the exception that proves the rule? I doubt it. Oliver Molloy 73 Posted 23/10/2022 at 18:37:07 Looking at this weekends results just shows how important our win was yesterday. Bill Gall 74 Posted 23/10/2022 at 18:41:31 David, is that the top stand or the lower? Brian Murray 75 Posted 23/10/2022 at 18:46:32 Put the away fans up in the gods out the way. Preferably behind a Perspex screen. Breathing vents optional in derbies.. Joe McMahon 76 Posted 23/10/2022 at 18:56:25 61,726 at Spurs today, I still think we are missing a trick with BMD. Before anyone says Man City and the Emptyhad, that's for a Tuesday night on Champions League games (in winter) against opposition that is not a huge name (after 10 years of qualifying). They are looking at increasing to at least 60k. Duncan McDine 77 Posted 23/10/2022 at 19:19:00 I've underestimated Newcastle. Looked very assured today, and it seems like Eddie Howe is proving that he can ‘do it' at more than one club. However, I do find it surprising that people aren't making a big fuss about the Saudi ownership – considering how disgusted many people have been regarding the golf tour and various big boxing events (all paid out of the same dirty, bottomless pocket). Politics aside, it appears that Howe and his team have been much less reckless with their newfound wealth than we were. David Pugh 78 Posted 23/10/2022 at 19:28:40 Bill 74. Top tier I think, which could be extended to the lower tier for cup games. Danny O’Neill 79 Posted 23/10/2022 at 19:45:24 Put them all in the Mersey! On a serious note, don't do a Newcastle. It's out of order. Not for a reasonably fit person like myself, but keeping the supporters away from the atmosphere. Hopefully the safe standing will help increase the numbers. But nothing takes away the passion or atmosphere. Duncan McDine 80 Posted 23/10/2022 at 19:51:55 On the subject of the away fans section, does my memory serve me right that in an FA cup game (with our extra ticket allocation) at St James's Park 20-odd years ago, we were split into 2 opposite corners of the ground? I've all but wiped that game from my memory seeing as they spanked us 4-1 and the West Country Blues coach I was on kept breaking down - making a very long trip even longer! Someone on here will know for sure.Oh, and a belated ‘welcome' to David Pugh. Mike Connolly 81 Posted 23/10/2022 at 19:52:46 Lloris is shite. I can see Daneil Levey getting on the blower to Bill. telling him he has a fantastic deal for him. A swap deal Lloris for Pickford and Kenwright biting his arm off. David Pugh 82 Posted 23/10/2022 at 21:05:08 Duncan 80. You are correct with what you say. We were for some reason in opposite corners of the stadium. I was in the “Away end†while we also had fans I think, in the corner of the home end, The Gallowgate end. I assume the only reason being Newcastle didn't want us all together and drowning out the Geordies. We scored a belter from Rhino, can't remember if it was an equaliser or to put us ahead, but as you say we lost 4-1. Brian Murray 83 Posted 23/10/2022 at 21:32:59 David, I was living in Scotland at the time ( significantl other is from there ) traveled on own. Yes rhino equalised and I remember them geordies singing Duncan's going to Wembley. Another sad blessed Walter day. David Pugh 84 Posted 24/10/2022 at 20:43:39 Villa appoint Unai Emery as their new manager. Let's hope Villa have the new manager affect on Saturday and do them deluded Geordies. Michael Lynch 85 Posted 24/10/2022 at 20:49:12 Surely that was handball? He moved both arms towards the ball and pushed it forward? I'd be fuming if I was Bournemouth. Bill Gall 86 Posted 24/10/2022 at 20:50:26 Another London team being looked after: West Ham player used his arm before the goal yet it was allowed. Ed Prytherch 87 Posted 24/10/2022 at 21:04:43 Crease head replaced by Count Dracula. Fran Mitchell 88 Posted 24/10/2022 at 21:18:43 Good appointment by Villa. Mike Gaynes 89 Posted 24/10/2022 at 21:18:49 Unbelievable blunder by Mike Dean on the VAR. That's the most obvious overturn I've seen this season besides Gordon's goal, and somehow Dean allows that blatant handball to stand. That ref Coote will spend years wishing he'd gone to the pitchside monitor and looked at it himself. David Pugh 90 Posted 24/10/2022 at 21:19:29 That should have been a red card for Lerma. He jumped in, two feet off the ground, in a scissor kick action and caught the West Ham player around the shin. Very similar to what the VAR deemed a red card for Allan last season. Mike Gaynes 91 Posted 24/10/2022 at 21:22:18 Getting Emery out of Spain is a coup for Villa. Four Europa League trophies and a Champions League semi-final. Yeah, he flopped at Arsenal, but anybody replacing Wenger was gonna fail in that gig. This guy knows how to prepare a team.David, sorry, he won't take over Villa until after the Skunks game. November 1 is his start date. Bill Gall 92 Posted 24/10/2022 at 21:53:39 Bournemouth looking dangerous in the last 15 minutes, checking for handball against them and penalty given to West Ham and they score. Penalty was doubtful but it was given. Dave Abrahams 93 Posted 25/10/2022 at 11:36:21 I had a little argument about the pundits at half time, my mate was insisting that the pundit with Carragher was Murphy. I don't know his first name. I said it was Sean Dyche. Can anyone who saw the interviews, and was interested, confirm who it was? Phil (Kelsall) Roberts 94 Posted 25/10/2022 at 17:29:48 Christmas Fixture timetable been announced. 6 teams have escaped having to play 3 days later, Saints, Wolves, Palace, West Ham Chelsea and LeicesterWe travel to City after a 4 rest days and they have had only 2. Then we host Brighton with both teams having had 2 rest days.Spurs must have slipped somebody a brown envelope. Brentford (a), Villa (h), Palace (a). 45 miles of travelling. Just hope they enjoy the home cooking too much. Brentford travel just to West Ham.We haven't done badly with 2 home games and a trip to MiddleEastlands.4 derby/local matches on Boxing Day. Tuesday 3rd - Brighton all the way to Merseyside, Newcastle to London. And then add in the trains on strike and the cost of fuel. Some people are not going to be happy, especially the Geordies. 2 away games, Leicester and Arsenal. Brent Stephens 95 Posted 25/10/2022 at 17:53:52 U21s at home (Southport) to Hertha tonight at 7.00 pm. David Pugh 96 Posted 25/10/2022 at 18:36:02 Watching the Champions League game between Red Bull Salzburg and Chelsea, and there's just been an incident whereby Conor Gallagher knocked the ball around a Salzburg player, who was stood very near to Gallagher. Needless to say, there was a collision between the two, simply because they were inches apart, yet a foul is awarded for Chelsea due to obstruction by the Salzburg player. This was no different to the Newcastle goal on Sunday, whereby Lloris knocked the ball past Callum Wilson but was obstructed by Wilson. So which decision is right, the one on Sunday or the one tonight, because both incidents were identical??? Mike Gaynes 97 Posted 25/10/2022 at 21:32:51 The missed sitter of a lifetime in the Celtic game. Watch it back and you won't believe it. Danny O’Neill 98 Posted 28/10/2022 at 06:44:00 A bit late to the game here, but who was the number 4 midfield player for Ajax? Looked really good.I'm sure Robert Tressell can pull out his dossier! Robert Tressell 99 Posted 28/10/2022 at 09:01:43 Danny, The Ajax number 4 is Edson Alvarez, the guy Tuchel wanted at Chelsea as a holding midfielder. He is good, but I didn't think he was in the same class as Martinez, Gravenberch, Anthony etc who all did get sold. But he might have kicked on in their absence because it's a very young team again at Ajax and he is one of the stalwarts now, although only 25.
