Richarlison’s Best Moments in an Everton Shirt

Everton reached a deal with Tottenham to sell Richarlison during the summer transfer window and it brings an end to a very successful spell at Goodison Park for the Brazilian.

During his time on Merseyside, he scored 53 goals for the Toffees in all competitions in what were four seasons at the club, with his best return coming during the 2019/20 campaign, as he scored 15 goals that year.

It is going to be a big year for Richarlison as his country are the 9/2 favourites in the bet on football with Paddy Power for the World Cup in Qatar this winter. He is now a big part of his national team thanks to his form for Everton.

Tottenham boss Antonio Conte will be hoping Richarlison can help them deliver the title this season. Spurs are 14/1 in the Premier League betting, third-best in the outright market behind Manchester City and Liverpool respectively.

Richarlison is likely to be a big success in North London. Here is a look back at his best moments in an Everton shirt.

Brace on Debut

After signing from Watford in a deal worth £50 million, the Brazilian made a dream debut, scoring a brace in a 2-2 draw with Wolverhampton. The Toffees’ new man twice gave his side the lead at Molineux, before the hosts levelled on two occasions.

Richarlison featured on the left wing in the game, and he converted from close range for his opener. His second came just after the hour mark, beating Rui Patricio with an excellent strike.

This performance gave Everton fans a lot of confidence that it was money well spent on their new signing.

Two Goals Against Brighton

Just months into the 2018/19 campaign, Everton boss Marco Silva opted to switch Richarlison to the centre-forward position. It was a smart move, as the former Hornets man upped his goal return. He finished that season as the club’s joint leading goalscorer with 14 goals in all competitions.

One of Richarlison’s other standout moments also came in his first season, as he was instrumental in helping the Toffees to three points in a 3-1 success at home to Brighton. He scored twice in that game.

Richarlison broke the deadlock in the opening half, and he then ensured the game was taken away from the Seagulls with his second with 13 minutes left on the clock. It was a performance which led to the centre forward landing the Man of the Match prize.

Goal at Anfield to End Record Which Stretched Back to 1999

Arguably the performance Everton fans will remember above all else will be Richarlison’s goal against Liverpool in February 2021. It was the first goal in a 2-0 success at Anfield, which gave the Toffees their first win at their local rivals since 1999.

Richarlison beat Alisson after being assisted by James Rodriguez. But it was not just his goal in the game which helped Carlo Ancelotti’s side, the Brazil international worked very hard throughout the 90 minutes leading the line in the game.

Best wishes to Richarlison in the next chapter of his career. Hopefully this space in the Everton squad gives somebody else the chance to become a hero on Merseyside.
