With the Friedkin Group closing on a deal to acquire Farhad Moshiri’s majority stake in the club, Everton supporters can finally start dreaming about a brighter future.

Their mood will be further improved by the news that construction work on the club’s new multi-million-pound stadium at Bramley Moore-Dock has entered the final six months.

The Friedkin Group has sparked a revival at Roma since their takeover in 2020 and Everton fans will hope they can repeat the trick on Merseyside.

Moving to a new stadium will help the club achieve its aims and everything is on track for the work to be completed before the end of the year.

Stadium build nearing completion

Laing O’Rourke has started work to reinstate the water channel to the dock, while around 44,000 seats have already been installed at the new venue.

The new stadium was structurally completed in February, and the remaining work involves completing external details and the internal infrastructure.

Once the remaining seats are added over the next few weeks, the firm’s specialist subcontractor SEL Environmental will start work on the pitch.

Preparing a football pitch is a complex process, from making sure there’s a good drainage system, to sowing and growing the football pitch itself, to using a football pitch marker to complete the playing surface, but not before the grass has been cut to the team’s specific requirements.

Other remaining work includes completing the east stand roof by the end of June, while the roof on the west stand is on track to finished in late July.

Everton sign lucrative networking infrastructure deal

Enterprise network infrastructure provider HPE Aruba Networking has secured a long-term deal with Everton to provide a secure and intelligent networking infrastructure at the new stadium.

The deal will allow the club ‘to develop its connected stadium strategy and use state-of-the-art digital technologies to create an engaging fan experience for all visitors’ once it opens.

The system includes high-speed Wi-Fi connectivity, access points, switches, security software, wired network management and monitoring services.

The club’s Chief Commercial & Communications Officer, Richard Kenyon, said: “Working with HPE Aruba Networking will give Everton Stadium a best-in-class Wi-Fi network infrastructure, and we are delighted to have them as an official supplier.

“Its expertise in networking some of the biggest venues in the UK, Europe and North America will be important as we develop the digital infrastructure and potential of Everton Stadium.

“A big positive of the move to our new home will be connectivity for supporters and the opportunities that will provide us to engage our partners in delivering the latest in digital experiences and services, both on matchdays and during other events held at the venue.”

Castore secures club-record partnership with Everton

Everton have also signed a club-record partnership with British sportswear brand Castore that will see the firm replace Hummel as their kit manufacturer.

Castore will also be the first founding partner of their new stadium, which will give them access to enhanced media rights and commercial opportunities.

In addition to supplying teamwear for Everton’s men’s, women’s and academy squads, the firm will also collaborate with Everton’s retail partner, Fanatics.

Founded on the Wirral in 2016, Castore has had a mixed time of things with their previous dealings with Premier League clubs.

Aston Villa ditched Castore to sign a multi-million-pound deal with adidas following a controversy over the quality of products provided by the firm.

Players complained they soaked up moisture, leaving them with a ‘wet-look’ sheen and extremely difficult to wear in the heat of battle.

Everton will hope to avoid any similar problems with the teamwear as they embark on an exciting era at their new stadium.
