Disclaimer () Michael Kenrick 2 Posted 06/10/2024 at 14:44:06 Why are Manchester Ud allowed to have 3 players arguing the toss with the referee each time one of their fuckers gets a yellow card? Rob Halligan 3 Posted 06/10/2024 at 15:25:02 How is that not a second yellow for Rashford? Got skinned near the by-line and cynically kicked out at the Villa player, bringing him down. Red card all day long and Rashford has now been subbed. Terrible decision by the referee. Neil Tyrrell 4 Posted 06/10/2024 at 16:32:23 5 minutes to swap out the ref's electronic equipment in the Villa match, how? Unplug the old one, plug in the replacement, slap the velcro armband over it - done. Should take 30 seconds. Beyond that, can't he referee the last 7 minutes without someone in his ear anyway? Ridiculous. Rob Halligan 5 Posted 06/10/2024 at 17:57:22 Spurs “Big Club my Arse” 2-0 up at half time, now 3-2 down after 65 minutes. Brendan McLaughlin 6 Posted 06/10/2024 at 18:09:47 At two nil up... Spurs must have thought: "What would Everton do?" Paul Ferry 7 Posted 06/10/2024 at 18:10:01 That destiny is a fecking awful! Paul Ferry 8 Posted 06/10/2024 at 18:28:57 Now, if Spurs can do that again against the Hammers, they will share our record of shame. Joe McMahon 9 Posted 06/10/2024 at 18:31:16 Brendan @6, Brilliant! Paul Ferry 10 Posted 06/10/2024 at 18:35:31 I didn't realise that Welbeck has never scored double figures in a league season. Wouldn't have guessed that - 72 in 344 league games. Feck me, that's DCL-ish. Brian Williams 11 Posted 06/10/2024 at 18:36:47 The Sky commentators were waxing lyrical about Spurs and their style of play… blah, blah. Sickening! 🤣 Paul Ferry 12 Posted 06/10/2024 at 18:40:07 They were purring, Brian. Brian Williams 13 Posted 06/10/2024 at 18:42:07 Don't you just love it when that happens, Paul? 😁 Paul Ferry 14 Posted 06/10/2024 at 18:46:00 I do BW - to be fair, almost the first thing Ange did in his interview way to say that he takes all the responsibility for that. (Dyche would have laid into Udogie!) Peter Moore 15 Posted 06/10/2024 at 19:22:34 The Spurs squad compared to our squad??Dyche led us to a 1-5 away win there the season before last!Ange the Flange got shafted, Dyche dicked em! Premier League football is unforgiving, that we are out of the relegation zone with our injury problems at the back is no mean feat if one looks objectively at the situation of our club and team versus the rest of the Premier League.Thank heavens injured players are returning and, god willing, the takeover is completed in good time and TFG are the custodians we deserve. Paul Ferry 16 Posted 06/10/2024 at 19:37:52 Why did the 5live commentator call Welbeck "the former Arsenal player/striker" when he bagged the third today? Steve Shave 17 Posted 06/10/2024 at 19:48:53 Skiprat Carragher tweeting about our fans' treatment of Gordon yesterday. What a prick. Whilst I am never a fan of people digging out ex-players for the sake of it, Gordon left in acrimonious circumstances and showed a lack of class towards the end. As far as I am concerned, he deserved to miss it for the new haircut alone, another prick. Tony Abrahams 18 Posted 06/10/2024 at 19:56:51 To rub their noses in it, Paul? When it comes to football on television, then they love to court controversy, and radio stations like TalkSport and 5Live, love nothing better than controversy because it gets the lunatics ringing in, and keeps their stations in the news. I am now beginning to feel that it has become a fully fledged circus at times, and can't wait to hear what Dermot Gallagher has got to say tomorrow!!Not really, the man's inconsistent opinions hold as much value as anyone else's, but he does a great job for Sky and keeps a lot of incompetent referees out the firing line on a weekly basis. Joe McMahon 19 Posted 06/10/2024 at 20:06:56 Peter, I'm sure you are aware how well Everton coped with Brighton at Goodison a few weeks ago with Dyche. It really is hard to think several of our squad are older than the Brighton manager. Fred Quick 20 Posted 06/10/2024 at 20:33:09 At yesterday's match, I and all around me in the stands felt that the incident with Dominic and Burn was a stonewall penalty; however, listening to the pundits and some of our fans on here, it obviously wasn't? I still believe a penalty should have been awarded having seen it again with a screen shot of a close up which sees Burn's leg hitting the ankle of Dominic's standing foot. Coincidentally, Newcastle got a penalty awarded to them at St James's when Everton's Gomes, in attempting to clear the ball in the area, caught Callum Wilson quite unintentionally. The Magpies scored the opening goal and went on to win the game 2-1 behind closed doors. Mark Murphy 21 Posted 06/10/2024 at 22:01:42 PF - cos he used to play for Arsenal?I guess as today was v Spurs its more topical? Paul Ferry 22 Posted 07/10/2024 at 00:39:32 Good point Mark. So, he would enjoy the goal. How was your human yesterday? Mark Murphy 23 Posted 07/10/2024 at 11:48:00 Good morning PF - I cant remember my original post - I think your referring to my "Texan Rub* and Rioja" news? What's the "human" reference about?Sorry for being a bit dim but I was already several ales in when I wrote it...*£21+ for a massive steak that fed three of us easilly. Bought from a saffer stall on Horsham market. James Marshall 24 Posted 07/10/2024 at 12:05:30 The thing that pissed me off about the DCL penalty shout, was that they sometimes choose to go into forensic detail with these calls, then other times they make a snap decision.I still believe it was a penalty, whichever way you spin it. Dave Cashen 25 Posted 07/10/2024 at 12:45:57 I watched this on sky and was nodding in agreement when the commentary team and the pundits repeatedly referred C-L`s terrific center forward play. I also noticed he continues to draw warm applause from those present too. If I'm honest, I've kinda lost respect or the views of those who seemingly don't or wont understand how difficult it is to play football when 90% of the service you receive comes from 50 yards away and usually comes at him at about ear height at best. This is the role he is asked to play and despite always having to fend off really aggressive attention from at least one center half. He continues to get us up into area's we otherwise wouldnt be in. There is not another player in the country that could do it as well. However. If we are going to praise him for the things he does so well, then he has to take the criticism too. I don't believe we shouldnt even be discussing whether it was a penalty or not. McNeil's little pass was exquisite. Perfectly weighted. It wouldnt have taken much for DCL to take that out of his feet and smash that either side of the keeper. His poor touch meant the ball was still under his feet and allowed a challenge to come in. Yeah it was a decent save by the keeper and it was a terrible miss from Gana, but if C-L takes a little more care with the first touch, the following sequence of events doesnt even happen. Fred Quick 26 Posted 07/10/2024 at 13:05:55 Dave @25,It's that lack of care that Dominic often displays at crucial moments that has Evertonians tearing their hair out. He's a decent bloke, he works very hard for the team, but as a forward, his job is to score as often as he can, when chances present themselves. He does a thankless task in the current set-up and probably would score more in a more creative team; however, that's not a given, which is a shame for him and the team for which he plays. Tony Abrahams 27 Posted 07/10/2024 at 13:19:05 Trying to combine the two together is very difficult to accomplish though, Fred, and anyone who could would be worth over £100M in today's market.Lukaku played in a better team and saved a lot of his energy to do the things he was good at. Although we made a fortune on Romelu, I don't think he's ever been able to combine the two, which would have put him on the road to greatness. The season Dominic started like a house on fire, he definitely didn't have to do so much of the donkey work that is required out of him now. Fred Quick 28 Posted 07/10/2024 at 13:31:34 Tony @ 27,I agree with you, however, it is also true that Dominic is not at all a natural finisher. I also believe that Dominic would not have managed to lead the line for so many years at any other point in Everton's history. But he does his best for the team and, in our current position, that's all we can ask, I suppose. Tony Abrahams 29 Posted 07/10/2024 at 15:12:22 Don't start me on the era of punching above our weight, please, Fred! 🤦♂️ Danny O'Neill 30 Posted 08/10/2024 at 08:13:19 Tony, I just had a catch up with Brian.I'm with you both, the change in culture and mentality throughout the club, top to bottom. Plucky Everton and punching above our weight is the past. We need change, top to bottom.Hopefully that is not far away. It won't happen instantly, but I'm certain if and when the new owner comes in and has a look, he will shake the club up. Danny O'Neill 31 Posted 08/10/2024 at 08:22:58 Should be an interesting conversation at the Manchester United "planned" meeting in London today.I think the writing is on the wall for Ten Hag, but let's see. Stu Gre 32 Posted 08/10/2024 at 09:34:10 Danny #31,I hope they sack him and appoint Southgate just so he isn't available if we choose to change. Tony Abrahams 33 Posted 08/10/2024 at 10:16:00 Ruud Van Nistleroy is already on standby, is what I've been reading Stu. They had some players over the years, once Ferguson, who they say was one game from the sack, got rid of the drinking culture, but the job was too big for Moyes and I can't remember Man Utd being this bad in my lifetime.
