Bill Gall 2 Posted 21/02/2025 at 20:46:56 Looks as though Brentford are burying Leicester down a foxhole it was 0/3 after 30 min, and a Leicester player was lucky he only got a yellow card at around 40min Neil Tyrrell 3 Posted 21/02/2025 at 21:13:37 Could see Leicester cutting Van Nistelrooy loose before long, they look so porous at the back. Maybe Dyche will be back in the prem? Michael Kenrick 4 Posted 21/02/2025 at 22:10:46 That was a pretty brutal first half-hour that destroyed the poor Foxes. Yea, Dave, that Premier League table's been bugging me since the derby! There's a couple of steps involved now which I'm trying to work through with the new owners. It's daft really — all done from an Excel file that needs to be updated manually, then uploaded manually, then incorporated manually into the homepage and on the dedicated table page. I'm sure there's a slick connection you could make to some web source that could do it automatically… but that's way beyond my skill set. It's all I can do not to mess up the Excel spreadsheet! Tony Abrahams 5 Posted 21/02/2025 at 22:20:59 It sounds like you're offering Dave a computer job here, Michael! I'm glad you have got this particular thread going again in the meantime though, because it's always been one of the more interesting and sensible ones for me. Danny O'Neill 6 Posted 22/02/2025 at 09:43:34 I like having this feature back. As well as being able to comment on the other matches, it's a safe space and stops us being told off by Michael for putting non-Everton comments on Everton threads!!I watched last night, and whilst, with the threat of relegation not mathematically gone, a good result for us, I couldn't help feel for the Leicester supporters. Miserable weather, a dreadful performance, empty seats by the end on a mass scale and the relegation trap door opening. Leicester's defending was again, woeful, but that doesn't take anything away from Brentford. Jim Bennings 7 Posted 22/02/2025 at 15:49:21 Arsenal doing their best to give the Shite an easy title win this season.Should have splashed the big money out on Ivan Toney last summer the Gunnerz. Neil Tyrrell 8 Posted 22/02/2025 at 16:31:08 I want Arsenal to win and everything but that's a straight red all day. Neil Tyrrell 9 Posted 22/02/2025 at 16:33:21 And red it is. Fuck me these 3pm matches are not going well Jim Bennings 10 Posted 22/02/2025 at 16:35:50 Arsenal aren't good enough to win the title this season. The Shite have won it because nobody else wants it. Neil Tyrrell 11 Posted 22/02/2025 at 16:52:42 Our Google overlords inform me that the worst ever goal difference in the PL era is -69 for Derby in 07/08. Saints could take a run at it this year. Might be the only drama left outside of the chase for the various European competitions. Title and relegation spots looked nailed on now. Danny O'Neill 12 Posted 23/02/2025 at 14:30:45 Has to be a penalty to Newcastle Liam Mogan 13 Posted 23/02/2025 at 14:33:34 Bit harsh for me. Don't know how you jump with your arms by your side. Liam Mogan 14 Posted 23/02/2025 at 14:37:47 Forest just blitzed in 10 minutes or so Rob Halligan 15 Posted 23/02/2025 at 15:11:26 Anthony Gordon flattened by his own team mate, but somehow wins a free kick. What do these referees actually see? Frank Thomas 16 Posted 23/02/2025 at 20:24:55 Can anyone tell me what is the situation for backpasses? Can you when challenging for the ball kick it up in the air for your keeper to catch it and that is not considered a backpass?I ask that because in the midweek game between Aston Villa and Liverpool, both keepers had the ball passed back to them from an unchallenged defender, the Aston Villa keeper chested and kicked it away and was under pressure from the Reds. The red keeper caught it and the ref waved appeals away; the same thing happened today — the Liverpool keeper caught it and ref waved the appeals away. Tony Abrahams 17 Posted 23/02/2025 at 21:08:18 Subjectivity definitely raises its head a lot more with certain teams, Frank! Peter Mills 18 Posted 23/02/2025 at 21:48:39 Frank, I remember reading about this when the back-pass rule was introduced. The legitimacy of passing back by head did not necessarily depend on whether the defender was being challenged or not. It depended on whether the defender had contrived a situation by, say, flicking the ball up with his foot in order to head it back – illegal. The defender blocking a cross, then heading it back (as Branthwaite did so expertly on Saturday) – legal. Phil Roberts 19 Posted 23/02/2025 at 22:22:18 Three bottom clubs all at home this weekend.Aggregate score 1-12Think it is settled at the bottom, and sadly at the top as well.Sheff United and Burnley candidates for bouncing back with Leeds from year before. PSR seems to ruin the chance for a team staying up as they can't spend £300m (like Forest did) and buy a new team to compete in the Premiership. Phil Roberts 20 Posted 24/02/2025 at 17:15:57 Dyche 19 games, 214 shots of which 63 on target and 15 goals.1 goal for every 1.2 games and 4.2 shots on target. Just 3.3 shots on target each game out of 11 per game.Moyes 7 games, 68 shots of which 34 on target and 14 goals.1 goal for every 0.5 games and 2.6 shots on target. 4.8 shots on target each game out of 9.7 per game.It seems it is the quality of our shooting that has suddenly improved, not the quantity.
