Everton Under-21s defender Odin Samuels-Smith has signed his first professional contract, agreeing a 2-year deal that runs until the end of June 2026.
The versatile 18-year-old can operate across the defense — he played at right-back, centre-back and left-back during 2023-24 season for the U18s after his twin brother Ishe Samuels-Smith left the academy last summer to join Chelsea.
It was a good season for the teenager, who played 23 times for Everton Under-18s, as well as earning two appearances in Premier League 2 for Paul Tait’s Under-21s.
“I’m very excited,” Samuels-Smith told evertontv after signing his pro deal. “It’s probably one of the best feelings I’ve ever had.
“[I learned] a lot – from the players and the coaches,” added Samuels-Smith. “You get to learn new things because Leighton Baines was one of the best left-backs in England.
“Last season was good. We didn’t finish where we wanted to, but it was good to always be starting and to be breaking into the Under-21s as well.”
