Despite heavy pressure from the home side, who hit the woodwork twice in the first half, it was Everton who took the lead almost on the hour mark through Issac Heath. Everton U21s looked like they would notch up their third win in as many games but in the 5th minute of added time, George Pickford was finally beaten in the Everton goal.
