Season › 2024-25 › News FAB call for supporter unity Lyndon Lloyd 26/08/2024 0comments | Jump to last In the wake of an uncomfortable video of frustrated Everton fans yelling abuse at certain players as they boarded the train back to Merseyside following Saturday's 4-0 thrashing at the hands of Spurs, the Everton Fan Advisory Board has called on fans to channel their passion "towards positivity". As the club's plight following successive, bruising defeats to start the new season weighs on Evertonians and fans argue on social media, a video clip of a small group of travelling fans taking out their frustrations on some players on Saturday surfaced yesterday, casting the Club and its fans in a poor light. The FAB have responded, saying: As Evertonians, our strength has always been rooted in our unity and our unwavering support for the club we love. In recent seasons, our collective spirit has been instrumental in helping us through challenging times, both on and off the pitch. While frustrations are understandable, we must remember that we all share the same goal: a stronger, successful Everton. By rallying together, we can help create the positive atmosphere that will lift the players, improve performances, and drive the club forwards — let's be the force that inspires our progress, not hinders it. Unity is strength and positivity is power. The Everton Fans' Forum expressed a similar sentiment with their own message posted to social media: The Everton Fans' Forum echo those condemning the scenes at Euston Station on Saturday after the match against Tottenham Hotspur. This behaviour was conducted by a very small minority and put Evertonians in the spotlight for the wrong reasons. We will continue to support the fans, some of whom form part of the forum, in working to raise a positive pre-match atmosphere in the stands with the overall aim of best assisting the players on the pitch. We have two important games at Goodison this week, let's make theatmosphere as powerful as we know it can be.
