Season › 2024-25 › News Everton vs Bournemouth, FA Cup Preview Anjishnu Roy 07/02/2025 174comments | Jump to last ToffeeWeb Everton will face Bournemouth in the fourth round of the FA Cup on home soil having won three Premier League fixtures on the bounce under new manager David Moyes. Less than a month ago, Everton went into their third-round FA Cup tie against Peterborough United without a manager and with relegation concerns surrounding the side. However, goals from Beto and Iliman Ndiaye secured a 2-0 victory for the Toffees. The tables have also turned for the better for Everton who welcomed former boss David Moyes back with open arms and he has brought in an immediate uptick in form. Although his second spell at Goodison Park began with a loss to Aston Villa, they have won three on the trot since then, becoming the first team outside the top eight in the Premier League to manage this feat, while scoring eight goals in the process. With a comfortable cushion of nine points between them and the relegation zone, while having a game in hand over the other contenders at the bottom, Everton will now turn their sights toward having a strong cup run. The Toffees haven’t reached a major final since 2009 and the last time that they won the FA Cup was 30 years ago. Taking on Andoni Iraola’s impressive Bournemouth side at home ought to be advantageous. Everton have won eight of their last 10 FA Cup matches at Goodison Park but the nightmares of a fourth-round loss to Luton Town last season might be fresh in the minds of the supporters. Bournemouth have also caused the Toffees headaches lately, having won seven of the last nine matches between the two teams including the two Premier League fixtures this season. It was at Goodison Park where Everton spectacularly imploded against Bournemouth back in August. Leading 2-0 in the 87th minute, the Cherries scored three goals in quick succession to stun the hosts in the Premier League. Seamus Coleman has struggled with injuries this season and is expected to be out for this contest. Everton continue to miss reliable names in the forward line with Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Armando Broja, and Youssef Chermiti all out for a considerable period. The Toffees will also miss Orel Mangala and Dwight McNeil. Beto is likely to start following his impressive brace against Leicester City a week ago while fan favourite Iliman Ndiaye is undroppable at the moment. New loan signing Carlos Alcaraz could also make his Everton debut here. Disclaimer () Mark Murphy 1 Posted 07/02/2025 at 14:33:21 Just arrived at Lime street and looking forward to a great weekend.🤞Lime street is full of reds going home and they are absolutely full of it! I fervently hope we beat them next week but even more importanter than that, we win the FA cup and shut them, and the skunks, in one glorious blow.Full strength please David Moyes -feed Beto raw meat before the game and bring him off when hes scored his two and promise his hat trick chance against the shite!UTFT Christy Ring 2 Posted 07/02/2025 at 14:59:51 Listening to Moyes press conference, o think hell make a few changes tomorrow, with the game on Wednesday. I wouldnt mind seeing Dixon, Tim and Sherif starting, especially with only one striker available. I watched a clip of Van DICK elbow on Richarlison last night, and hit was definitely deliberate, of course Pawson played on. Then he made a laugh of him later, offering to give him a hand up, and then pulling it away, a horrible person. Derek Knox 3 Posted 07/02/2025 at 15:27:16 Christy, yes he is intrinsically a good defender (Van Dick) but always like most of the R S team resort to physical abuse or inversely histrionics if on the receiving end. Thing is, they always seem to get away with it, surely everyone bar us can see that too !Moyes's presser seemed to indicate he is taking the Cup match seriously and almost hinted that Alcaraz was match fit but didn't commit to naming him as a starter, or the team. I pretty much suspect he will start with a similar team to the Leicester one.I am under no illusions that they will be easy opposition, but the same attitude that has been in the last 3 games, will augur well. Tom Bowers 4 Posted 07/02/2025 at 15:51:34 It's always nice to win games but it would be particularly nice to put one over on Bournemouth tomorrow, a team that has bee a pain in the neck since we beat them with Doucoure's rocket which enabled us to avoid relegation two seasons back. They will be on the rebound after the RS put them in their place last week but they are a decent team so we have to maintain the high standard work rate we showed last week to get by them.Whenever we start to think of a good cup run we get stung but hopefully being away from the relegation zone will allow them to do well in the Cup, the real Cup not the Mickey Mouse one. Danny O'Neill 5 Posted 07/02/2025 at 15:53:48 Well, I'm going to have to be first to ask, as the curiosity is getting to me. Can Anjishnu Roy stand up and be identified?!!! Or have I missed something?More Moyes sentiment, that we could do without having it rammed down our throats every article. I think we've all moved on and don't have to keep discussing it.I'm looking forward to tomorrow. We've put ourselves in a healthy position in the league, but still have a lot to do.I will be travelling up tomorrow morning with my son, meeting my brother at Lime Street. As I've mentioned to a couple of people offline, a real weekend of cultural differences for me this weekend.Tonight I'm going to the theatre in Royal Windsor to watch a play adaptation of 'Boys from the Blackstuff' with friends who live in a Buckinghamshire village. I'm intrigued, I've not watched it since the original television screening in the 80s.Early start tomorrow to get the train and before you know it, we'll be on County Road and inbound to Goodison.I hope the manager takes this seriously and the team likewise to put us one step further to Wembley Way. Jay Harris 6 Posted 07/02/2025 at 16:09:51 Just watched the press conference and was immediately struck by how relaxed and affable Moyes was compared to SD who seemed as if he just didnt want to be here such was the pressure.I am sure that rubs off on the players and they play with more confidence and less pressure. He seemed to say he would take the cup game and the derby seriously so expect a strong team for both.I believe he will give Alcaraz some time on the pitch whether that be tomorrow or Wednesday. Mark Murphy 7 Posted 07/02/2025 at 16:35:23 “Anjishnu Roy”?Sorry mate - I dont get it? Who / what is that? Mike Gaynes 8 Posted 07/02/2025 at 16:37:45 Mark, he/she is the author of two articles just posted on TW. I've not seen that name here previously. Mike Hayes 9 Posted 07/02/2025 at 16:41:47 Good to see Alcatraz is available to play be good to see how he plays. Going for a 2-0 win with Beto to score again 💙 Robert Leigh 10 Posted 07/02/2025 at 16:45:35 Would like to see a strong starting 11, to keep up momentum and give us something to enjoy until the end of the season now we're looking more stable in the league. Give Gana a rest because he's played almost every minute for a while, and with a big game midweek it seems prudent:Pickford O'Brien - Tarkowski - Branthwaite - MykoLindstrom - Iroegbunam - Garner - N'diayeDoucoure BetoGive Garner the last half hour off as necessary, dropping Douc deeper for Alcaraz to come on or give Gana a 30 minute workout.COYB!!! Danny O'Neill 11 Posted 07/02/2025 at 16:48:20 Yes Mike G@8. One has been removed by the looks of it. Or I can't see it anymore.I'm glad it wasn't just me. I thought for a moment the whole AI / Bot saga had resurfaced!!! Brian Williams 12 Posted 07/02/2025 at 16:53:29 Danny, he's a sports reporter from India who writes for Sportz Interactive."Using" Toffeeweb somewhat methinks. Jeff Armstrong 13 Posted 07/02/2025 at 17:06:41 Changing tack slightly, the City council have well and truly left any car drivers up the swanney yesterday with the new no parking zones around BMD, no parking within 35 minutes walk of the ground.I was nearby last night at the Legends event at Blackstock market (which was excellent btw Sheedy, Ratcliffe and Reidy were on fine form) loads of derelict and unused buildings around so parking no problem, thought this would do fine for the test event at least, but no chance, LCC have for some reason wiped out any parking opportunities for everyone with their “zonal marking”Blackstock have come out today and said it will kill businesss around who have basically set up to capitalise on the new stadium and invested thousands to be in the area.I understand the need to protect residents on matchdays but this blanket approach is ridiculous as the zones only have about 40% residential areas covered, the rest is either businesses that dont operate at night or weekends, and would seize the opportunity to become temporary car parks, or derelict wasteland areas which the council could make match day income from with roadside parking. Danny O'Neill 14 Posted 07/02/2025 at 17:10:26 Thanks Brian.I thought Michael had changed his name!! Simon Harrison 15 Posted 07/02/2025 at 17:10:56 Mike G, Brian, I wonder if Anjishnu Roy is giving a break, or taking the load for Lyndon, while Lyndon gets his 'Evertonia' site up to speed?MK have you any info that you'd be willing to share with the TW crowd? Is everything OK between you and Lyndon? Jonathan Oppenheimer 16 Posted 07/02/2025 at 17:13:23 Hate to be this cynical, but it feels like a Chat GPT article about the transfer window, especially coming from someone no one here knows. Would be great to keep our momentum going tomorrow. I like Roberts call for the starting XI tomorrow and subs, but also important to get Harrison some minutes. He hasnt done much of late, but were not far from needing him at some point and got to keep any shred of confidence up.A win tomorrow keeps spirits high heading into the derby. Not into predictions, but Im thinking 2-1 should do the trick. Jeff Armstrong 17 Posted 07/02/2025 at 17:14:05 Roy, now theres a surname to provoke media hysteria, anyone watched Succession? Mike Gaynes 18 Posted 07/02/2025 at 17:14:23 Simon, did you know that in all these years, Lyndon and Michael never met in person? Simon Harrison 19 Posted 07/02/2025 at 17:19:12 Seriously Mike? This site has been going since 1994 hasn't it? So, in near 21 years, and MK and LL have never met? My flabber has been well and truly gasted!?I'm just wondering with LL starting a 'rival' Toffee forum, that maybe there has been a 'separation' unless it is an attempt the keep TW as the more general site, and looking at Evertonia, it seems to be more a reporting based style, with podcast attached.I'm just guessing, and I'm sure I'll get rebuked soon enough. Simon Harrison 20 Posted 07/02/2025 at 17:23:04 Jeff [17]To be honest, when I saw the surname, for some weird reason I thought of Bryan Roy the Dutch international, who played for Forest with Collymore I believe. The decent team Forest had, before they got relegated iirc? Alan McGuffog 21 Posted 07/02/2025 at 17:28:38 Simon, don't be obtuse ! One of them, not sure which, has been wearing an iron mask and has been chained below Ruperts Tower for decades. Billy Shears 22 Posted 07/02/2025 at 17:31:16 A late winner will lift the roof of Goodison methinks...2-1 Blues 💙 Jeff Armstrong 23 Posted 07/02/2025 at 17:33:49 Simon, my first thought was Roman Roy brilliantly played by Kieran Caulkin, Brian Roy was a pretty pacy winger just before Forest fell off a cliff as Im sure you know, however Anjishnu is an unknown entity! Simon Harrison 24 Posted 07/02/2025 at 17:36:30 I posted this on the wrong thread, so "here we go!"I too think we should prioritise the Bournemouth game tomorrow. They are are good team yes, but even under Dyche, we should have beaten them at home, and would have done if Moyes was manager, as his in-game management is much better. Also, when we played them away while still under Dyche, they only won to a very, very well struck volley (half-volley?) after a collective defensive lapse!Personally, I think with us being at home, and the Old Lady rocking (possibly the last home FA Cup tie to be played there) with a new sense of confidence and belief in the players; not to mention Bournemouth's injury list, will be enough to beat the Cherries this time. What's the old saying, "Third time's a charm!"Well c'mon get onboard the Cup train and worry, if that is the right word, about the Derby later...COYB OTRTW Mark Boullé 25 Posted 07/02/2025 at 17:40:35 Jeff Armstrong #13I don't live in Liverpool, I'm in Oxford, but we suffer terribly down here from Oxfordshire CC constantly closing off roads, trying to introduce bus gates etc - they hate car drivers! I read the blurb about the no parking zones around BMD and, guess what, there is the usual crap about "air quality" and "promoting active travel"!I'm sure fans will be delighted to walk, cycle, scoot or stand out in the rain / wind / dark waiting for buses for half the season when it's Autumn or Winter!! Bloody ludicrous decision, which will adversely affect many of the regular match going fans and will also seriously harm the ability of BMD to attract and stage other events, and punters to go to them. With all that space around it, it should be like an NFL stadium with a gigantic parking facility ALONGSIDE other ways of getting there. But oh no, not with our net zero obsessed, eco-socialist powers that be! Rob Halligan 26 Posted 07/02/2025 at 17:48:30 Simon # 24………dont forget, also, that Bournemouth were given a very dubious free kick which led to their winning goal. No free kick = no goal! Simon Harrison 27 Posted 07/02/2025 at 17:54:26 Jeff, I haven't seen succession, so I didn't know the Roy connection there.Yep, Bryan Roy was one of my favourite non-Toffee players back in the 90's as was Collymore, before he became a heretic. They were the inspiration for there UEFA cup qualification weren't they? Clough's last good season, and Frank Clark trying to hold it all together.Alan McG, I wasn't being obtuse, I didn't know that fact! heheSo is it the pretender running the site and the real king is in Rupert's Tower?I'm confused than ever now Alan, as I've been saying a lot recently...BTW did you know Alan, that today is the halfway point of TFG's 100 day Analysis-study, as it is 50 days today that TFG took over!Hopefully, we'll find out who our new full time CEO will be soon. Also, we should find out by default if Thelwell will be retained. If he has been given his notice, I'd expect him to go after April 30th or thereabouts.Else he might be retained to provide reports and plans for the academy etc for his replacement.I think the whole DoF situation won't be resolved till June. Jeff Armstrong 28 Posted 07/02/2025 at 17:55:01 Mark, the problem with the clean air, zero net, carbon efficient, non ozone effected breathing spaces is that theres a fucking big aeroplane flying above you dishing out multi million zone affected diesel fumes, whilst on terra firma thousands of taxi licences being issued regardless of fuel efficiency, the whole council led, zero this, zero that, is a pointless, futile, tree hugging, vote enticing, lip smacking, pepsi styling virtual signaling, which results in me not being able to park anywhere near BMD😜F.ing disgrace, if you ask me, but nobody did. Neil Cremin 29 Posted 07/02/2025 at 17:55:33 Danny @5I also noticed the new author but was very surprised with your reaction “More Moyes sentiment, that we could do without having it rammed down our throats every article. I think we've all moved on and don't have to keep discussing it.”I certainly didnt pick anything like that up in the article. May I respectively suggest that the fact that you couldnt even refer to Moyes by name would indicate to me that you havent moved on. As a stranger said to me at half time on Saturday @Youve a smile on your face “Moyes has made me enjoy my weekends again so I am going to embrace this new feeling wholeheartedly Simon Harrison 30 Posted 07/02/2025 at 17:59:12 Absolutely Rob H, I had forgotten that, wasn't that why our defence was all over the place.I honestly think we suit playing the Cherries, and we'll have a better chance of winning with Moyes' approach, than Dyche's return to safety first tactics after the 2-3 defeat at home.I just hope the players can forget about the hoodoo-voodoo the Cherries seem to have had over us.I think it isn't the Cherries having the hoodoo, more that since Lampard (and Benitez) we haven't had a competent manager until now. nb I said competent... Simon Harrison 31 Posted 07/02/2025 at 18:00:44 By the way Alan, do you have an inkling who is in Rupert's Tower? You've got me thinking now? Liam Mogan 32 Posted 07/02/2025 at 18:01:37 Does anyone have a blue parking badge they can lend me on Saturdays/Sundays and the odd midweek night between August 25 and May 26? Mike Gaynes 33 Posted 07/02/2025 at 18:04:46 Liam, you're welcome to mine. It says "Olympic College" on it but you can black that out with a Sharpie. Alan McGuffog 34 Posted 07/02/2025 at 18:05:19 Simon you mentioned that MK and LL had never met. You sounded surprised! In the last few years most of our midfield have looked like strangers to one another so anything goes 🤷♂️ Simon Harrison 35 Posted 07/02/2025 at 18:05:53 Anjishnu, many thanks for the three articles today. Please could I ask if you are from Kolkata, West Bengal? If that is not too intrusive, and if you are "Obsessed with the art of story-telling in the world of sports."Good wishes Simon Harrison 36 Posted 07/02/2025 at 18:09:31 Alan, I certainly was surprised? However, in this digitally linked world, I guess you don't have to meet people anymore? In the physical I mean.I find it sad tbch.I agree re our midfield, but things look like they are on the up, with Idrissa Gueye and Doucs (for now) with A.N. Other. Perm one of Garner, Iroegbunam or now Alacaraz if he cuts the mustard on the 'grass'...Puts tin hat on, I actually think Mangala's injury could be a blessing in disguise. Jeff Armstrong 37 Posted 07/02/2025 at 18:11:17 Neil 29, great point DON complaining about repetitive posts is quite ironic.I recently learned that Sheedy was his favourite player 😜 Mike Gaynes 38 Posted 07/02/2025 at 18:15:29 Simon, yep, and ironically they were both living in the US when they launched the site. Alan McGuffog 39 Posted 07/02/2025 at 18:20:51 I know I shouldn't share my thoughts out load but I can't in all honesty see us getting anything against that lot on Wednesday. Maybe damage limitation. What would sugar the pill would be to work it up these " never has beens" tomorrow, with their snidey feckin chants. To misquote Keegan, " I would love it..." Jeff Armstrong 40 Posted 07/02/2025 at 18:23:14 I like the dynamic between LL and MK, Lyndon is the more reserved, cerebral type editor, always thinking through and probably altering everything he writes before posting, Michael shoots from the hip, real time match commentary and edits on the hop, engages with posters and doesnt always get it right, but engages nevertheless, trigger happy with his bans, but lifts them just as quickly, all in all the pair of them produce a tremendous EFC site which we all enjoy and come back to, long may it continue. Brian Williams 41 Posted 07/02/2025 at 18:25:44 Neil#29.Did the players not play a part in bringing that smile? Simon Harrison 42 Posted 07/02/2025 at 18:38:51 Mike [38]Yes, I was always under the illusion that MK lived in the states, until he informed me otherwise.Alan [39]Go and wash your mouth out with a bottle of Batham's (or three! hehe!) I genuinely expect us to turnover the Cherries at home, as the media do love a story of the 'contender rising' as it were. For me, with Moyes now in charge, he has demonstrated that he can get a very catchy tune out of our players; and as I said above, we should have beaten this lot once, and with a little bit more adventure, we could have got something at their place.I don't worry about them now as a lot of their best players are injured.I tell you what though Alan, once Moyes has done his whole 'steady the ship' gig, I think that TFG should seriously consider Iraola as our next coach. As for the derby, I think we will get something out of that game, at a minimum one point, and I'm quietly hoping to turn them over for the full three!Jeff [40]I wholeheartedly agree, as you say Lyndon is like the older brother applying a cool sensible head, and very assured, whereas Michael comes across as the more impetuous and mischievous younger brother! HeheI Love them both, and Long Live ToffeeWeb (And Evertonia!) Hehe Neil Cremin 43 Posted 07/02/2025 at 18:43:42 BrianAbsolutely I have always believed that we had a reasonable set of players who were far better than the performance and results we were getting Never bought into dismissing them as championship players as was so often touted here on TWWhat changed is that they seem to have been given a new lease of life and confidence. I was surprised and disappointed at D ON reaction to the article and felt he should be challenged on it as it seems that he is the one who cant let it go by him being the first to bring up the as he puts it the manager. Kevin Molloy 44 Posted 07/02/2025 at 18:55:23 so our fair council has finally turned it's pretty little head to logistics with just a few months to Going Live . I'm sure the question 'so how do you get 52000 people away from a site bounded on three sides by water, on a wet and windy night' will be much chewed upon in the next few months. (Besides building a 'fan zone' at Sandhills, obv). Annika Herbert 45 Posted 07/02/2025 at 19:00:43 Neil @ 43, I have to disagree with your comments regarding Danny. We are allentitled to our opinion and there is nothing offensive in what Danny wrote. As you well know I am not a Moyes acolyte in any way, shape, or form. But that doesnt stop me wanting my team to win every week, regardless of who is manager. Therefore, if people want to continue praising Moyes, is it wrong for others to express a different view? Jeff Armstrong 46 Posted 07/02/2025 at 19:06:56 Kevin 44, the council have not been interested until this week. they then introduced a 3 mile radius parking zone and put a few barriers up at Sandhills, for people to queue in all weathersJob done.Local businesses not consulted, no consideration for anyone running businesses in the area, people arriving from the city region or coming from afar in a car, park 35 minutes away and get on with it, lots of people will park 35 minutes away, then 40 minutes away, then 50 minutes away, could see this coming 2 years ago. Kevin Molloy 47 Posted 07/02/2025 at 19:13:01 Jeff yes. I have to. say I thought there'd be more businesses floating around the place by now, but the whole area still seems pretty rum to me. Is there a pub to go to after the game even? I hope they've budgeted for an upswing in trade on a Saturday afternoon. Neil Cremin 48 Posted 07/02/2025 at 19:21:49 AnnikaWho praised Moyes Paul Ferry 49 Posted 07/02/2025 at 19:40:28 Mark B (25): I was happily nodding along with your post (I know Oxford and Liverpool, of course, very well) until that stupid last sentence that shows a somewhat shallow understanding of politics or an entrenched position of your own or both.I really feel that we will win tomorrow though Bournemouth look to have had a better window than us. I think that our new lad might get an half-hour or so and I would love him to score and not get too excited when he walks onto the pitch (he has a rather rash side to his game at times).I think that it would have been appropriate and polite for this Anjishnu Roy fella to have introduced himself or be introduced to us if as it seems he is to have some sort of quasi-'official' position on these pages. If Lyndon migrates, it will be a disaster for this site in tech terms but far more in terms of what he brings with his mind and writing. Jeff Armstrong 50 Posted 07/02/2025 at 19:41:50 Kevin, Blackstock Market have invested a lot of money in their venue, I was there last night for a legend event, great venue for TV football, comedy shows etc, plenty of parking, 20 minutes walk to BMD, pint before, pint after, everyone happy.. but no, LCC decided to put a 35 minute walking /parking zone into place, Blackstock livid as any business investing locally to BMD would be, no consultation.Poor planning despite plenty of planning time (4years)Im sure if it was LFC then the council would have been talking to them throughout,“You want to get rid of Anfield Rd which has been a through Road there for over 150 years? No problem, just build your stand over it and well put a few signs up saying it no longer exists , anything else you need? Any old sisters saying they wont leave Wylva or Skerries,?leave it to us . After all ,your brown envelopes are always the biggest ! That Kenwright fellah is a tight bar steward Brian Wilkinson 51 Posted 07/02/2025 at 20:16:05 I like a lot of the peoples starting line ups, I am a bit dubious of starting both Iroegbunam and Garner from the start, with both coming back from injuries, I would start one and use the other from the bench, on that note Garner would get the starting nod for me.I would stick with the same goalkeeper and backline, I might also be tempted to start Alcaraz and give Guaye or Doucoure a rest, but have on standby as impact sub if needed.Martin Sherif and Roman Dixon are not in the u21 squad tonight so chances are both will be in the squad tomorrow. So my starting 11 would bePickford O,Brien, Tarkowski, Branthwaite, MykolenkoLindstrom, Garner, Alcaraz, NdiayeBeto, Doucoure( with a view of swapping for Iroegbunam in the second halfIroegbunam, Gauye, should offer cover from the bench, along with Sharif, Dixon, Patterson and Young.Lets learn from our last encounter at Goodison, when we pasted them, then took our best player off, and left tired players on the pitch and paid the price.Go brave tomorrow name a strong team and I fancy us to win.Fingers crossed if it goes to penalties, I hope not, but if so hoping Virginia is not the one trying to save them and we have Pickford in goal. Kevin Molloy 52 Posted 07/02/2025 at 20:16:35 Jeffyes, good to see the Council taking on those pesky entrepreneurs, 'say, that's a nice little comedy store you got there...shame if someone stopped your customers from getting here wouldn't it' Tony Abrahams 53 Posted 07/02/2025 at 20:18:16 Sainsburys on Scottie, currently has free three hour parking, but I cant see this lasting when Bramley Moore finally opens its doors Martin Reppion 54 Posted 07/02/2025 at 20:31:35 As a fan living in Halifax (West Yorkshire not Nova Scotia) I have little option for using local public transport to get to the game. £15-20 worth of fuel for up to 4 of us or nearly £40 each for the train, if it's running. To have to find my way from somewhere I don't know, 35 minutes walk away IF I can find a parking space, is hardly ideal.I feel that out of town supporters will suffer from this move. One option is to use the Sale RUFC model.Parking for free at The Trafford Centre there are unlimited FREE shuttle buses to and from the ground. If the club offers something similar to car users, from a similar location, it truly would be an example of 'The People's Club'. But we all know that football clubs exist only to make money from their customers, not to provide solutions for their fans. Paul Ferry 55 Posted 07/02/2025 at 20:37:18 A fair hike as well Tony. These parking restrictions seem nuts (could they be limited to residential zones?). Wasn't "regeneration" the term of choice? It's a little more than six months until the first match at BMD and "chaos" might be the word of choice that day. A good day for exercise but not for the club (and council) possibly as gleeful stories of access chaos flood the papers and MOTD.Four years or so to figure this out! Imagine Brisbane style water taxis going to and from the dock from say Otterspool and Southport calling in at Crosby, of course. Anthony Dove 56 Posted 07/02/2025 at 20:43:06 Two disasters on the horizon, no parking anywhere nearBMD and Lyndon possibly leaving TW. The anti Moyesreturn brigade, of which I am one, had, and still have perfectly valid reasons for thinking that way. Those on the other side are perfectly entitled to their opinion. A bit like Brexit or lots of other choices in life.Be nice to hear were on our way to Wembley tomorrow. Mike Gaynes 57 Posted 07/02/2025 at 20:43:45 Leicester in the lead. Derek Knox 59 Posted 07/02/2025 at 21:11:49 Mike, if that score stays the same I bet Van Nistelrooy has a large Chin and Tonic to celebrate ! :-) Annika Herbert 60 Posted 07/02/2025 at 21:14:01 Neil @ 48, I read the preview the same way as Danny and it seemed to me, at least, very much like praise. If you see it differently thats fine. I just didnt see any reason to take one of our best contributors to task for his comments on the preview. Brendan McLaughlin 61 Posted 07/02/2025 at 21:29:43 Annika #60The OP was extremely light on the praise... Danny was very heavy on the criticism.I don't think Danny would want any special treatment...well any more than he deserves. Liam Mogan 62 Posted 07/02/2025 at 21:31:12 Not really sure what all the fuss about access and parking at BMD is all about. It's only 50,000 people all going to the same place at the same time with only one 10 metre sized entrance, with water on three sides, along a one carriage road, with nowhere to park due to a chernobyl sized exclusion zone, no real transport systems or alternatives and no park and ride (or similar) schemes. Some people are just glass half empty. Tony Dunn 63 Posted 07/02/2025 at 21:34:04 Liam Mogan, exactly that Mike Gaynes 64 Posted 07/02/2025 at 21:42:24 Liam, you forgot the rain and snow. Paul Ferry 65 Posted 07/02/2025 at 21:45:31 This feels nothing like a Lyndon-like preview to me at any rate. Roughly half of it is some sort of preview of the game (200/406 words). The other half is going all over the great things that have happened since DMs return with touches of hagiography, including the entirely false claim that Moyes was “welcomed…back with open arms”.Can we please have a word from MK or LL on who this Roy fella is and why he is writing this preview (I have noticed that Michael has written a fair few recently) that would seem to give him some sort of "quasi-official" role. Hugh Jenkins 66 Posted 07/02/2025 at 21:48:56 Brian (51) - we definitely don't want penalties - because that would mean we had also played extra time - and we have the RS here on Wednesday. Mike Gaynes 67 Posted 07/02/2025 at 21:51:49 I hate to see those fans celebrating. Hate it. John Raftery 68 Posted 07/02/2025 at 21:52:51 What a boring preview! It contained no fresh insight and definitely reads like an AI output. Liam Mogan 69 Posted 07/02/2025 at 21:54:16 And the wind off of the royal blue mersey, Mike.I wish people would focus more on the positives. Take today. President Trump announced an end to paper straws. Everyone knows they are useless and plastic ones are better. Common Sense. But what's all over the news? Negative coverage of USAID being culled and sanctions on the ICC.Some people are just never happy and should go to sleep with a smile on their face thinking that they will never have to drink a pina colada though papier mache ever again. Spoiled my last holiday in Florida Keys tbh.In many ways it's exactly the same as the parking at BMD debate. Let's be positive in every circumstance. Hugh Jenkins 74 Posted 07/02/2025 at 22:13:18 Simon (19) after a quick scan through the later posts it seems that no one has pointed out that if the site was founded in 1994 it is 31 years ago, not 21. Jeff Armstrong 75 Posted 07/02/2025 at 22:18:55 Kevin 52, its for 8 months of the year too, game or no game, from either team, not that it impacted on the RS anyway, any start ups down by BMD are becoming obsolete before BMD gets up and running! Disgraceful from “A Labour Council “ as Kinnock once said. Jobs being created by the new ground being destroyed before they become established by a rotten council, they have no affiliation to any Labour movement I or my Family have ever belonged to.The LCC is corrupt and has been corrupt for years, and yet the sheep keep on voting them in,government intervention doesnt seem to have changed anything, which is worrying. Brendan McLaughlin 76 Posted 07/02/2025 at 22:21:59 Hugh #75 Fecking brilliant! To his credit Simon will enjoy that as much as you or I. Paul Ferry 77 Posted 07/02/2025 at 22:29:31 John Raftery 68: What a boring preview! It contained no fresh insight and definitely reads like an AI output.John, it has the characteristic features I always see in AI output. Wandering off the theme/topic, unnecessary "factual" information, neutral tone, formulaic wording, and so on.Perhaps we could explain this to the three screaming septuagenarians (it/them/thing) who seemed to take particular delight in the self-proclaimed "exposure" that Mr. McMiIllan's bot-work was not bot-work. Come on Anjishnu, post that this is not bot-work to get them all excited.Something odd is going on here: LL, the forum, this Roy fella with his fecking double-spaced paragraphs, and possibly two bot-generated OP's. Stan Grace 78 Posted 07/02/2025 at 22:40:05 Neil #29I'm a bit confused by this:...was very surprised with your reaction “More Moyes sentiment, that we could do without having it rammed down our throats every article.”...May I respectively suggest that the fact that you couldnt even refer to Moyes by name would indicate to me that you havent moved on. Liam Mogan 79 Posted 07/02/2025 at 22:42:08 I'd be quite happy to have Moyes sediment rammed down my throat.Or have I misunderstood? Paul Ferry 80 Posted 07/02/2025 at 22:43:37 I noticed that too Stan (80). Thanks for posting this. Apparently, there is only room for "extremism" on one side of the fence. Ah Liam, Liam ........ Liam Mogan 81 Posted 07/02/2025 at 22:44:56 To bot or not to bot, that is the question Stan Grace 82 Posted 07/02/2025 at 22:48:04 Liam #81, I've told you to stop watching 'Deliverance'. Liam Mogan 83 Posted 07/02/2025 at 22:49:27 Is it just me or does ToffeeWeb currently resemble those rumour filled, bacchanalian days before the fall of the Roman Empire?'The most worthless of mankind are not afraid to condemn in others the same disorders which they allow in themselves; and can readily discover some nice difference in age, character, or station, to justify the partial distinction.'Before the fall, chaos doth reign Brendan McLaughlin 84 Posted 07/02/2025 at 22:55:34 Just you Liam #85 Mike Gaynes 85 Posted 07/02/2025 at 22:56:17 Liam, interesting comparison. Mark Boullé 92 Posted 07/02/2025 at 23:31:00 Paul Ferry #49 - well, yeah I'm entrenched (and increasingly convinced I'm right) in my opposition to everything net zero. And net zero is an eco-communist concept - control of the masses by the governing elite under the guise of a Labour government supposedly looking out for the poorest in society)...If that's a stupid position, it is one that is increasingly shared all over the country mate! Anyway, living in Oxford I don't normally get to more than a couple of home games a year, so I'll let the first half season or so play out and see if the council backtracks / what clever solutions drivers come up with to get closer...I'm more concerned right now with the apparent demise of ToffeeWeb - akin to losing a limb if this site goes... Paul Ferry 93 Posted 07/02/2025 at 23:41:46 Mark B, you and I would have a good conversation mate.Didn't net zero develop from the position reached by scientists in various countries (some in your own now home town) not politicians, that the best way to try to tackle global warming was to cut carbon emissions to a globally applied and manageable amount small enough to be absorbed in nature? This with other CO2 reduction/removal steps would, hopefully, leave none of it in the atmosphere. Paul Ferry 94 Posted 07/02/2025 at 23:44:57 Lyndon, on Evertonia, has a thread on an experimental parking zone to be introduced around BMD: https://evertonia.com/forum/everything-everton/post.php?post_id=17 Mark Boullé 95 Posted 07/02/2025 at 23:46:40 Yep we would Paul for sure. I know a few blues down here but we are rarely either free or able to get txs to the same games, so always looking for people to have a pint with whenever I do randomly pitch up in L4! I won't continue the debate here now or we'll be up all night :) Paul Ferry 96 Posted 07/02/2025 at 23:47:55 Fair enough, happy ZZZZZZ MB Jon Atkinson 97 Posted 07/02/2025 at 23:54:58 @62 Liam everyones walking from town , calling in here and there for a bevvy, no need fer parking at the new gaff Danny O'Neill 98 Posted 07/02/2025 at 00:07:45 Right to reply. The other article had similar language.Neil, maybe I should have worded it differently. I have just become tired of a lot of the threads being dragged into a now tired debate. Opening statements like the one the author makes, don't help. It's been totally different at the matches and in the pubs surrounding. Plenty of debate and differences of opinion, but all in good spirit. No animosity.Anyway, I too am enjoying my weekends again after witnessing months and months of dreadful football that made Goodison into a place where you could hear a pin drop. It's great to see the players look like they are enjoying their football again and the supporters getting back to normal.I too am looking forward to tomorrow. One hell of an early start. Dog to be walked and leaving for Euston early doors. No train strikes tomorrow, but engineering works between Stafford and Crewe, so nothing direct into Lime Street and an extra hour each way on the journey.I echo the sentiment about the preview. It's a bit lighter than what we've been used to. I guess if Roy (it's easier), is going to take on this as a new addition to the Eds (presumably), he'll need time to settle in and add a bit more meat to the bones.Wherever you all are tomorrow, watching or listening, send your George McKane positive vibes in the direction of Goodison Park. Kevin Molloy 99 Posted 08/02/2025 at 00:25:20 come on Paul, you can't be saying it's like 2020, it's not that bad! Mike Gaynes 100 Posted 08/02/2025 at 01:04:06 Derek #88, you mean Andy C. hasn't been supplying you??!!No worries, will bring on my next trip over. Andy Crooks 101 Posted 08/02/2025 at 01:09:39 I know it's early days but the Evertonia site looks very much like any other fansite. ToffeeWeb is, by some distance, the best around; not just for the range of views but for clarity and ease of use.I hope that there is not some sort of toxic split. Lyndon and Michael have put in a huge amount of work of many years and this site, which I have viewed and contributed to for nearly thirty years, has been a tremendously positive thing in my life and I have met some of the finest people around through it.I guess it's an age thing but change dismays me. Has Lyndon, like Ken Bruce did on radio 2, left? Is this like the SDP ditching the Labour party and going away to be nice; leaving the radicals behind? What will be the equivalent of Roy Jenkins( God almighty how did that happen) winning Hillhead in Glasgow? Apologies to anyone young or from abroad who will not get these archaic references! Anyway, I have enjoyed Michael Kenrick every bit as much as Lyndon. His reports on the match as it happens are heartfelt and brilliant. A football fansite needs a bit of bite. I suspect Evertonia will be the Youth Club for the good kids while the reprobates will hang around on the ToffeeWeb street corner having a fag and some Scotsmac. I just had a quick look in the window of Evertonia, I think I just might meet some of the sensible guys my mother always wanted me to Steve Brown 102 Posted 08/02/2025 at 02:08:01 Liam 69, thank you for focusing on the bigger picture. Trump signed an executive order to ban paper straws and you were the only one to mention it.This is why he has not ended the Russian-Ukraine war on Day 1 as he promised; he is focusing on the big stuff. Next up is an order that only US dog breeds will be allowed to shit on the sidewalk. That being said, Rotherams no parking zones and cattle market enclosures at Sandhills are mental. Well all be swimming the match. Ernie Baywood 103 Posted 08/02/2025 at 02:15:41 What happened to the other article by Anjishnu? There was a Moyes related one on the home page when I went to bed last night but it seems to have gone. I did think it was strange that a comment piece was on the home page. Mind you the whole site has been a bit weird since deadline day. Does anyone know what's going on? Steve Brown 104 Posted 08/02/2025 at 02:26:43 Andy 105, I think we all appreciate the massive amount of work that Lyndon and Mike have to put in to run the site. Or we should.I am surprised the editors have not used the external contributors, as it must take a huge amount of time, research and effort to write their OPs and match reports. Their OPs and articles will be hard to match though as they are Everton obsessed like the rest of us.If they are going in another direction then we cant blame them. It must be a thankless task - just look at how the certain posters piled into MK because he is not ecstatic that David Moyes is back in charge. He must read that nonsense and not think “why do I bother?.”You are only have to read Neil Cremin @ 29 challenge in Danny for an innocuous comment on Moyes. His Moyesiah adulation is becoming concerning - hell soon be demanding all fans dye their pubes ginger before they are allowed in the ground. Ernie Baywood 105 Posted 08/02/2025 at 02:29:20 I found it in the end. And the transfer window one.Nothing against the guy, but I come for Evertonian perspective, not someone churning out vanilla articles from Mumbai.Obviously seems like there's been some detail with a content provider in India that provides, according to their website, "platform specific high quality narratives that appeal to the sports fan".Good luck with that, but it's not really for me. I might hang around and see how long the comment sections and hopefully some fan submitted articles keep going. Chris Davies 106 Posted 08/02/2025 at 03:00:53 Exciting new football?? Exciting new ground?? Exciting and interesting fixture at the weekend??Nah,.. lets talk about robots and car parks.I might start getting my EFC news from their shite website. Phil Smith 107 Posted 08/02/2025 at 05:15:32 It is c**tish of the city to make it all no parking around the new ground, but its not that far of a walk from town. Took me about 40 minutes in the summer. Very pleasent it was, too.Lets batter these tomorrow. Has to start Pats right back and move OBrien to centre and give Tarks a rest. Maybe play Keano as well…? Maybe not, on second thought. Paul Ferry 108 Posted 08/02/2025 at 05:49:46 Phil 111 ... not that far of a walk from town. Took me about 40 minutes in the summer. Very pleasent it was ...Phil, a November/December/January/February afternoon/night with the wind storming in off the Mersey with nothing in the way for a fair amount of the walk? The elderly, disabled, and sick mate? Paul Birmingham 109 Posted 08/02/2025 at 06:03:01 Hoping that the best available Squad is selected and the best team is picked to win this game.Recall, 1983, it's early, early days, but there's a sense of emergence.. but from a straight jacket of killing football, from the previous manager.Play the killer passes through from all angles and finish well, like last week.UTFTs! Neil Cremin 110 Posted 08/02/2025 at 06:04:49 DannyI know your not a fan of the appointment I was luke warmI just felt you over reacted to a new contributor and saw something that wasnt there in my option and introduced a topic we would all like to avoid. For me I am really enjoying being an Everton fan again at the moment rather than constantly looking at the bottom of the table each weekend or future fixtures to see where we are going to get points. On a general note for all those who vehemently oppose Moyes I would make two comments. Would you have stuck with Dyche and if not who would you have appointed (available and willing to take the job)Secondly I suggest you all enjoy the moment for now and park the opposition because if you all of you are right about his appointment you will get plenty of opportunity in the future so say I told you so.I however hope you are all wrong. My final contribution to the Moyes debate. Paul Ferry 111 Posted 08/02/2025 at 06:16:19 Neil, 114, what a silly quietly provocative "final contribution"." ... for all those who vehemently oppose Moyes ... "Who can on here be counted on the fingers of one hand, possibly two.And you also get in your "in the future. I told you so" for good measure. Mike Gaynes 112 Posted 08/02/2025 at 06:23:53 Neil #114, I don't "vehemently oppose" Moyes -- in fact I've overcome my deep initial disappointment and think he's done a fine job so far -- but since you asked...I would have taken tough old Maurizio Sarri in a heartbeat, far ahead of Moyes. In my view he met every qualification, including availability and Prem experience. If he were willing to leave Italy, I would have likewise considered Max Allegri. And although I would guess his ambitions go well beyond Everton and he would likely have been uninterested, I would have queried Edin Terzic as well. Christine Foster 113 Posted 08/02/2025 at 07:01:19 I think it would be appropriate if Michael and Lyndon made comment on the speculation over their involvement and and changes to ToffeeWeb. Whilst they (rightly) have total say on their continued involvement, many of us consider both as distant friends, known for a sizeable chunk of our lives. They influence debate, give us insight and very welcome perspectives on all things Everton. In short we have learnt so much from these pages and Lyndon and Michael in particular. They are the Ying and Yang of this magnificent site, the sum of which is much greater than their individual parts!I guess clarification is only required should changes happen..but I guess that's the point, things do get noticed and changes have been made. So if it's anything we should know about, I'm sure they will tell us. Danny O'Neill 114 Posted 08/02/2025 at 07:03:16 I wasn't Neil. It should bode for healthy debate with my brother today!I fancy Terzic Mike (in the future).I forgot to mention Jeff's comment. Of course I idolised Kevin Sheedy as a teenager. Haven't we all got favourite players of our generations?I see conversations on here about Bobby Collins, Alex Young, the Holy Trinity and Tony Kaye; the one taken from us. Later, Latchford and Dave Thomas who I had to be educated on recently!!Who was yours?Onto today. We can do this. So many of you have been like family and your support means the world. I'm so proud of the platform we built here, the community that grew up around it and nothing has given me greater pleasure than to provide something that so many have found so useful.Of course, this being the Internet, I've not really gone anywhere. Why would you even mention it? Christine Foster 131 Posted 08/02/2025 at 09:51:10 I suspected as much, but wasn't sure, it is a sad day indeed, but all things must pass. I came to ToffeeWeb 20 years ago, infuriated to see how my beloved club was being run and found some absolutely brilliant people, funny, smart, sharp but above all, passionate fans from every corner of the world. It was and still is, my link back to L5. Way back when I first posted I was shocked at some of the responses my articles generated, I wrote to both Lyndon and Michael to express my feelings and was basically told you have to stand up for yourself and give as good as you got. So I did and I was forever thankful for their advice.Of late I have commented that much of what I write is out of sync with many or of little relevance any more, but my love for the site and its contributors kept me here. For that reason I'll hang around like a bad smell, but it will be different and that's sad. But I have to say, Thank you to Lyndon and Michael for ToffeeWeb, my go to site morning noon and night.. my light in so many dark days. Thank you.. just bloody thank you Lyndon... I owe you a pint.. Martin Mason 132 Posted 08/02/2025 at 10:04:24 Not being too happy about Moye's appointment is understandable, not accepting that it is looking very good at the moment is odd. His press conferences are actually very good. Brian Williams 133 Posted 08/02/2025 at 10:06:34 Paul#133I must be persona non grata then. :-)) Brian Harrison 134 Posted 08/02/2025 at 10:27:19 LyndonThank you for all you and Michael have done in providing a great place to go to discuss and debate our beloved Blues. I don't know how to access podcasts, so havent listened to the ones you have done. I hope the site wont change to much as its like talking with friends every time I click on T/W even though we may disagree with one another from time to time. But its just passionate Blues saying how they see things, and with football its full of different opinions. I will ask my Son to install Evertonia for me so I can pop in and see how you are doing. Robert Williams 135 Posted 08/02/2025 at 10:34:39 Thank you Lyndon and Michael, I have enjoyed every one of your posts and insight to our beloved Everton. You are both a truly class act. Enjoy our rise up the table. Laurie Hartley 136 Posted 08/02/2025 at 10:38:53 Im disappointed about this development. Michael & Lyndon come across as two very different characters but somehow complimented each other.Where is Michael? Anthony Dove 137 Posted 08/02/2025 at 10:39:11 Lets hope MK will continue to operate the site with someone else to take over the important balancing good cop role played by Lyndon. Already having to live with Moyes return so to lose TW would be a double whammy. Brian Williams 138 Posted 08/02/2025 at 10:40:10 Brian#139.I echo your sentiments and have already thanked Lyndon personally.Things won't be the same. From having a site run by fervent and invested Evertonians who write from the heart and, certainly on Michaels part, get as carried away as the posters, we've got a site now owned by a firm who's writers just won't have the same feeling for Everton or the site. The guy who's written the first couple of items writes for others and not just on football let alone just on Everton. They say all good things must come to an end and so it is.I'd again like to thank Lyndon and Michael for all they've done over the years and wish them the very best going forward.Nobody could have done it better. Tony Abrahams 139 Posted 08/02/2025 at 10:43:01 Wishing you the very best of luck Lyndon, because through all the arguments, there has always been a very positive side to the wonderful website that both you and Michael, created🍀 Mike Doyle 140 Posted 08/02/2025 at 10:57:39 Just like to add my thanks to Lyndon &Michael. Mike Doyle 142 Posted 08/02/2025 at 11:06:52 Just thinking … With Lyndon (and I think Michael too) being from the USA, might this decision have been prompted by Trumps decision to withdraw US support for anything that doesnt help the US economy or add to its security. In otherwords, has TW suffered the same fate as USAID? Bob Parrington 143 Posted 08/02/2025 at 11:08:34 Lyndon and Michael, Thanks for everything you have provided with TW over the years. You didn't always agree in some circumstances but this was a real part of the relationships that developed within TW.Good luck wished in whatever each of you do, going forward! Derek Knox 144 Posted 08/02/2025 at 11:13:04 If I can add my tuppence worth, or an auld bawbee, sorry to see Lyndon and Michael go, but glad that T W will continue. I doubt whether I am any different from most long serving members, but it has become a part of me, and I also enjoy the debates and interactions of it's varied brother and sisterhood. We are like a family, not always agreeing on everything, which is understandable, but all for the same cause and ultimately have each other's backs. I have met many friends through T W that I probably wouldn't have if it wasn't for it's existence. Thanks Lyndon and Michael for all the unstinting work and reports and articles that you have compiled over the years, I for one am indebted to you both. Long may T W continue in whatever form, but without it's two longstanding figureheads.UPTFT COYB 💙👏🤔 James Hughes 145 Posted 08/02/2025 at 11:16:26 Cheers to Lyndon & Michael, Hopefully the team can give you a good send off today and that continues until next May. wishing you all the best and new/ old website now bookmarked #COYB and UTFT Ernie Baywood 146 Posted 08/02/2025 at 11:32:23 Many thanks to Lyndon and Michael (who once banned me but I bear no ill will). Not sure what's happened here but I'll take a look at Evertonia.Hard to believe ToffeeWeb won't be my first web entry every morning but judging by the first few articles out of our friends at Sportz Interactive it won't be. Too those who I've battled with, agreed the shit out of, or just plain gasbagged with... I hope I see you on the other side... wherever that may be.Hard to believe that this is, as they say, it. Onward Evertonians. UTFT.Ernie Brent Stephens 147 Posted 08/02/2025 at 11:33:54 As so many have said, thanks Lyndon and Michael for running such a great website. All the best for the future, both. Anthony Dove 148 Posted 08/02/2025 at 11:35:36 Hadnt realised MK has gone as well, so it looks bad for TW. TW has always been in a different league to all other Club websites, and a heartfelt thanks to Lyndon and Michael for that. Brian Harrison 149 Posted 08/02/2025 at 11:49:17 Maybe might have been better posting a farewell and update on the site on a separate post from the Bournemouth cup tie. I am sure Michael will post soon as to his feelings.Lyndon I don't know anything about our new editor can you give us some background about him. I do find it strange that the headline post is about the transfer window that closed nearly a week ago. Also disappointed that there hasnt been a post from you or Michael about the parking zone debacle. Andrew Merrick 150 Posted 08/02/2025 at 11:51:45 On a lighter note...Daveys press conference v Sean...Chalk and cheeseI had shouted for Potter, but I'm firmly behind Moysey now, no bull, no blame, and talking up his players. Christy Ring 151 Posted 08/02/2025 at 12:05:03 Sorry to see Lyndon and Michael leave, they did a fantastic job on this website, wish you all the best. Dave Abrahams 152 Posted 08/02/2025 at 12:09:18 Lyndon (127) A bit of a shock that mate you and Michael “ Doing one “ I have really enjoyed being part of such a huge debating forum with you and Michael giving us a mostly free speech with our thoughts, the very best of luck to your future plans I hope to be part of them but being technically backward I might find it difficult to engage with the new formula. Jimmy Carr 153 Posted 08/02/2025 at 12:13:59 I've listened to the podcast on Evertonia and read some of the articles, I think you have to sign up to offer comments and access everything else. I've not tried to do that yet. Maybe the final straw was MK's anti-Moyes rant which unfortunately didn't come across as professional or neutral. We're here for the passionate opinions but as he's an editor of the site that surely stepped across the line. Never mind, all good things must come to an end. We move on. Brian Williams 154 Posted 08/02/2025 at 12:20:38 Jimmy, Michael's comment/s on Moyes have got fuck all to do with their leaving.Don't be a shit stirrer. Derek Knox 155 Posted 08/02/2025 at 12:23:18 This should have been on a separate post, T W's transformation that is. While not wishing to sound like a killjoy we have a certain game of Football today that could shape our way forward. Simon Harrison 156 Posted 08/02/2025 at 12:25:08 Lyndon and Michael, it's been a pleasure. Thanks for all the fish and so long!See you on the other side!Good wishes to one and all... 💙👍 Dave Abrahams 157 Posted 08/02/2025 at 12:26:58 Ive tried to Join Evertonia.com but it doesnt accept my Email address which is a genuine one but different to my ToffeeWeb one, how do I get around that? John Pickles 158 Posted 08/02/2025 at 12:27:26 Wow! just Wow!Shocked, and kind of disappointed, loved LL's articles and despite personally having decades old polar opposite views on Moyes with MK, I felt the 2 of them just worked well running the site. The 'Good cop/Bad cop' mentioned earlier, made me smile.I have to say, this 'coming out in the wash' on this thread and not a separate thread is bizarre and I'm afraid to say, rather Moshiri-esk! Jimmy Carr 159 Posted 08/02/2025 at 12:33:30 Brian (159), completely over the top reaction. I'm not stirring any shit, I'm offering an opinion on why their partnership is dissolved. I might be wrong, who knows? Certainly not you. Moving on. Eddie Dunn 160 Posted 08/02/2025 at 12:37:29 Having similar problems to Dave A with regard to Evertonia. Brian Williams 161 Posted 08/02/2025 at 12:45:21 Jimmy#164.Wrong!I DO know and its nowt to do with what you suggested. And like you I'm offering an opinion on your shit stirring, uneccessary post which, if you take the trouble to read everybody elses, is way off. Scott Hamilton 162 Posted 08/02/2025 at 13:00:04 Yep, similar problems with Evertonia.BTW - didnt the clubs official fan membership scheme used to be called Evertonia? Pretty sure it was. If so, Im surprised the website name doesnt infringe club copyright. Jimmy Carr 163 Posted 08/02/2025 at 13:01:15 Brian, once again, your post is excessively angry, but I'd rather not stoop to your level. I've scanned the thread quickly and not seen any particular reason as to why things are changing. I guess the only people who really know are the two site editors. You claim to know the reasons but whatever, I really can't be bothered as you are unable to engage in a reasoned debate. The end of ToffeeWeb as we've known it, is not exactly going to change my life. Things move on, they always do. Brian Williams 164 Posted 08/02/2025 at 13:18:50 Jimmy, stop being pathetic.I know the reason because Lyndonn told me.Your initial post was snidey and pathetic anx the following ones were no better. You're a whinger. Jamie Crowley 165 Posted 08/02/2025 at 13:20:39 Wait... WTF???ToffeeWeb no longer run by Lyndon and MK?Who's taking over?Where is MK in all of this? What are his plans, if any? This is terribly sad news in my opinion. Ray Roche 166 Posted 08/02/2025 at 13:40:04 Michael and Lyndon, I would like to echo the feelings of earlier posters, heartfelt thanks to you both for providing a platform where all things Everton could be discussed, argued about, dissected, where football topics often strayed off course and ended miles away from the initial opening post and where fish puns ruled. As Derek said earlier, where friendships were made and many pints sunk at various watering holes both here and abroad. Good luck to you both.💙 Derek Knox 168 Posted 08/02/2025 at 13:49:00 Jamie C, I tried to log in using my T W details but saying not recognised. Sent message but whether they will get back before kick off is another matter. Hope all okay with you buddy, and regards to your family. John Keating 169 Posted 08/02/2025 at 14:05:42 Sorry lads Im a bit of a LudditeIf its working dont change it!Lyndon, Mike truthfully absolutely speechless so saying nowt just now Steve Brown 170 Posted 08/02/2025 at 14:54:33 Go Toffees at the Goodison Park.Dreadful. Colin Glassar 173 Posted 08/02/2025 at 16:59:28 Everton 0 Tarkowski 2. What an embarrassing performance from our captain. Colin Glassar 174 Posted 08/02/2025 at 17:06:16 Will do, Kim. Jamie Crowley 175 Posted 08/02/2025 at 17:06:47 Colin -I echo Kim's comments. I've made the move, see you there. Paul Birmingham 176 Posted 08/02/2025 at 17:08:53 Scot@167, correct. Not Evertons day today. Cack 1st half. and gifted them 2 soft goals. On to the Derby, now.UTFTs! Tom Bowers 177 Posted 08/02/2025 at 17:13:30 The first 15 minutes was a pointer to how this game was gonna go.Everton very sluggish and when Ndiaye cleverly made an opening that he squandered with a poor finish you kind knew it would be another poor day at Goodison. The Tarks challenge on Semenya was poor and it was all downhill from there.Would sooner they bottle this one than the Derby match so let's hope Moyes can get their heads up for it. Brian Williams 178 Posted 08/02/2025 at 17:56:33 Derek#175.Derek you have to register for Evertonia mate. Paul Ferry 179 Posted 08/02/2025 at 19:44:35 Mike D 147: Michael was born on the Wirral, moved to Washington State for work, and is now back in Blighty in the south-west somewhere. Lyndon was born in South Africa and got hooked on us when he was a student in the UK. He also moved over the ocean to the west coast where he still lived, dreading his new household insurance rates. Mark Murphy 180 Posted 08/02/2025 at 19:49:33 Im in the bar at lime street. Some lovely ladies with gorillas, but Im feeling sad.
