Match Preview

Updated For the first time since those forgotten days when Carlo Ancelotti had The Blues riding high in the Premier League, Everton take on their arch northwest rivals from the other end of the East Lancs Road in a position of relative strength — 1 point above them in the table — even though both of these great clubs find themselves languishing in the lower half.

But the transition in Everton’s recent fortunes  — perhaps the biggest “new manager bounce” imaginable — has seen The Toffees amass 13 points out of 15  in the last 5 Premier League games, the only blot on a perfect record coming when they squandered 3 points and a leading position at home against Liverpool, albeit rescuing a point in dramatic fashion with Tarkowski’s tremendous 98th-minute equalizer.

Hopefully against Manchester United on Saturday, David Moyes’s almost magical influence on a team that had become utterly bereft of any footballing prowess to speak of under Sean Dyche, will be manifest when they need to make Ruben Amorim’s nascent record as new Red Devils manager just that little bit worse than it already is.

But the task Everton face is not helped by an ever-deepening injury crisis that saw  eight of nine players missing from the fantastic win at Crystal Palace last weekend, with Abdoulaye Doucoure now returning from suspension for the heinous crime of celebrating that fantastic late goal against the Reds, whose entitled and undisciplined representatives precipitated a mass brawl in consequence.

Long-term injuries to Broja, McNeil, Mangala, Calvert-Lewin,  and now Ndiaye are compounded by fitness doubts for Chermiti, Patterson and Coleman going into this match, with David Moyes including youngsters from the Under-21s on the subs bench but so far rarely using them.

The visitors can cite similar constraints on the available manpower to counter a poor run of form that has seen them lose almost half of their Premier League games so far this season, with Diallo, Mainoo, Mount, Shaw, and Evans sidelined by injury and a number of other players listed as doubtful.

But on the back of such a good recent run by The Blues, we can expect a packed and vibrant Goodison Park for this the last visit of the Red Devils, with only five more home games for the Old Lady to see out in the Premier League.

The early lunchtime kick-off means this encounter is showing live on TNT Sports 1, with David Moyes commenting in his pre-match press conference on Friday at Finch Farm that playing Manchester United is just another game for him but they're a great football club.

He admits he's had to fight his way back up since being at Manchester United, and has done that at West Ham, winning a trophy, and he hopes to get Everton back in Europe.

He says that Beto has been given a big opportunity and has improved in the games he's had.

When asked about the stadium move after the test event on Monday, Moyes said: "I wanted to ask what it looked like. I've said I'm not going to go down there until it's confirmed that we're a Premier League club."

Kick-Off: 12:30 GMT Saturday 22 February 2025
Referee: Andy Madley
Assistants: Mat Wilkes, Craig Taylor
Fourth Official: Anthony Taylor
Video Assistant Referee: Matt Donohue
Assistant VAR: Derek Eaton

We are on a great run at the moment and even with the bare bones with regard to injured players and squad depth, I am confident that our winning streak can continue.

Alcaraz has slotted in well with and understanding with Beto, and the midfield are playing some nice slide-rule passes. Let's keep the run going and get even stronger when the injury list clears up.

Normally I would say, as Man Utd are on a bad run, Everton are the perfect team to play to break that run.

But this time I'm feeling slightly more optimistic.

Interesting to see the Beto - Maguire match-up.

Can't wait to see Beto's stomping celebration. Bring it on!

I hate those spoiled brats and their sniveling supporters. I hated them years before I even started supporting Everton. When a player comes out for one of my games wearing a United shirt, I know he's going to be whining about every whistle.

I've enjoyed listening to them whimper through their miserable season, and to actually be above them in the table is pure joy. Let's stretch the lead to four points.

In particular, it'll be agony for the punk wearing the old Roy Keane shirt who deliberately cracked my ankle at a kickaround in 2004.

Scruffy wools! All mancs dress fucking awful and most are mongoloids…. 3-1 win for the mighty Black Watch and a taxi for Amorim after the match. Goodison will be bouncing with expectant fervor and those lot are already shitting it!!!

It's nice to be looking forward and excited for Everton matches to be honest. The last 4-5 years have just been 7 days of dread between games. It's nice to be buzzing for the match.

Welcome back Michael, nice to see a pre match write up nice and early, long may it continue.

Starting to get to the bare bones now but anything is possible with these players and manager, I honestly thought after the effort in the derby, was not expecting 3 points at Palace, but the players fought hard and you could see we were not as fluent, but that was to be expected.

After a week's rest, the players should be once again up for it and I would not rule anything out with the way we are playing.

I think we have done what needed to be done these last few weeks, soldier on until we can get more bodies back in the squad, any more casualties and we might need to put 3 goalies on the bench.

Anyway, let's give it a good go Saturday and see what happens.

Up the Toffees.

I echo Brian W, great too see you back Michael and a pre-match that actually is what it says on the tin.

Hoping as always for a win, and Alcaraz keeping his well deserved place. Still have to be cautious of a wounded tiger in Man Utd.

Well Mike I never thought I'd see you write "magical influence" about David Moyes. I had reservations about him coming back (as I suspect you did) – happily completely unfounded. As I watch when I can from afar, I have to say we have sporadically started to play well – joined-up, attacking, front-foot football – stuff I had forgotten under the Dyche tenure.

I think with the first test event done, it will really start to hit home how few games are left at the Old Lady. I can recall some cracking games against Utd down the years, let's hope for another fitting send-off and a win.

Great to read the positive posts. So I will go with the flow, and hope to wake up down under to read another victory.

As a lot of people have pointed out if we play the team not the United badge, then we can beat these.

Hope the blue faithfuls are in full voice, rocking the old lady to its core.

Pre-match optimism, always makes me incredibly nervous with Everton! Even though there is decent cause for it on this occasion.

The big marker will perhaps be Moyes' decision on Alcaraz or Doucoure at 10. The cautious/pragmatic decision is probably to bring back a rested Doucoure whose running will help us in a match where we'll have less of the ball. Whereas the more confident pick would be Alcaraz whose ability on the ball and future potential is greater than ‘The Duke'. Tough call and it's also possible he plays both with Harrison dropping and Alcaraz moving to the left.

One thing we've not seen in our recent 4 wins and a draw is this team conceding first. But it did seem heads went down for a while when Liverpool scored their second. That fragility/lack of confidence has been a feature of ours for a while, will be interesting to see if Moyes can move us past that.

Come on Sam, Doucoure or Alcaraz ? No contest, Duke will run but that's it, scores once every 20 months or so. Give him the ball, he can't get rid of it quick enough - either back to whoever passed it - or backwards - or to the opposition.

No-one was more shocked than me when he scored against Leicester. but he'll think he's done enough there, and to take it easy now !

90th minute sub when we are winning hopefully !

, let’s hope it continues.
There’s a Buzz around and for me the rest of our games cannot come fast enough.
Let’s hope we have well and truly dropped this odious Tag of  » The gift….! »
It’s been an amazing turnaround of, form, and mood.

Dyche went gungho the last time and got totally caught out on the counter.Even Rashford scored, with one of his prehistory runs.

Moyes needs to be defensively orientated with a effective high press.Dyche's inverted wingers and low block were taken apart by the gaps left because of a fear of inadequate pace in Everton's defence.

Moyes has increased pace in the defence and has some type of attack were goal scorers can get support.

This is another test for Moyes against a team he has had a poor record in the past.

His points per match record is 0.72.

Sam, I'm the same when it comes to pre match optimism. Every time I spend all week convinced we're going to win I then start to soil myself when we get to kick off, as we all know how generous we are when it comes to helping teams end their winless run or assist a striker in scoring his first goal for years!!

Hopefully this will be different, and I see no reason to bring back Duke as Alcaraz looks far superior. And Harrison looks much better than he did under Dyche. That isn't saying much, like.

I hope Goodison is a bear pit and we stuff these entitled pricks! Can you ever remember a game against utd where we were such favourites to win? Even the red press seems to think so.

They are a joke. The most sought after manager in Europe has been turned into a snivelling wreck within a few months there. Ratcliffe looks more like a penny pinching British Monty Burns with every passing day! Harry McGuire's return to form is their only boast from the last 8 weeks.

Needless to say I am enjoying this, both our resurgence and their demise. In case you hadn't picked up on the undertone of my post, I hate Utd almost as much as I do the redshite.

I think Beto will notch again and Alcaraz is going to have a great game, a rare goal from a resurgent Harrison (set up by Charlie) to seal a 2-0 win. COYB.

Jerome (16), I thought Everton were playing well at United until an unfortunate own goal and a bad mistake by Branthwaite gave United a 2 goal start, United were very poor and looked lost up to then, another poor goal right after half time sealed the win for United.

Now we have to beat United and get above them to further increase the confidence this still threadbare squad is building.

I’d have Carlos and Doucoure in the starting line up ahead of Lindstrom or Harrison as Sam(13) suggests ——any improvement in those two is limited imo, but the manager picks the team so he’s the one who decides who plays.

Steve Shave I can remember 1997/78 Boxing day at Goodison Everton on a 20+ game unbeaten run United came and every time they touched the ball it went in our net. Macari scored 3 or 4 I think.
What a Christmas Present that was.

David#24

The last game against United just proceeded as I had overall thought it would. They played a set up shop defence AT HOME and Everton looked ok, but basically huffed and puffed, only to get caught out.

I prefer Charly and Lindstrom to Doucoure. They are more play makers and can pass the ball.Something I yearned for under Dyche. As for Harrison I agree, but he is the type of player that Moyes could get a tune out off.

I just discovered your post on the Slot thread and replied to it.

It would feel very typical for us to finally get our hopes up ahead of a big game and then receive a little reminder of where this team sits relative to the investment in Man Utd.

But I can't help but think that the last few games have really woken up the team and support. Goodison should be incredible for this visit. The players' morale should be higher than for ages, while you'd imagine that Utd's players will be as low as they can get.

I'll predict a spiteful 1-0 win. A proper 90s kind of day. Bear pit, compete for everything, Gwladys Street limbs when the winning goal hits the net.

How good would it be to not only have opened up a big gap on the relegation fight, but to also move to to 12th and put a decent wedge between ourselves and the Uniteds of Manchester and West Ham.

I’m glad Michael, is back and has hopefully sorted out the things that have been bothering him with the new owners of ToffeeWeb, because him being absent, made me realise how much content he offers to this website.

I hope you’re still going to have the power to put people right (in your own opinion) Michael, because although it’s not everyone’s preferred way of debating, your absence showed me that you’re input in this manner, helps keep the site more normal and natural imo, mate.

I would also play Doucoure, and although I might not be right, this is definitely the position I’d be playing him (on the right) if I was the Everton manager.

I love width, and also believe that this is where a team needs craft in the modern game but, if you can’t have craft (who offers craft out wide besides N’Diaye) then you need hard bloody running (again imo) and this is the only thing that Doucoure excels at.

Lindstrom is slowly improving but he doesn’t work the fullback hard enough, and this is why I’d start with Harrison and Doucoure out wide, in this game of such varied opinion.

I’d build a team around hard runners, because hard running is the only way you can really be aggressive in this modern game, and sprinkle it with a few players, who can also give you a little bit more on the ball.

We haven’t got enough of these types yet, so start with the hard running, and let their enthusiasm feed off the Goodison crowd!

We have a tough April coming up. But by then we could easily be on 35 or 36 points. Okay, 39 if I'm being greedy!!

And despite April's fixtures looking challenging on paper, there's no reason we won't pick up more points. Football always serves up the unpredictable.

We won't win them all, but if we keep the momentum going, we can feasibly finish with over 40 points.

I think Utd have some decent players but their confidence is low, so we need to put the pressure on from minute one which I am sure we will. While their confidence is low ours couldnt be much higher and we have people starting to put the ball in the net on a regular basis which always helps. Looking forward to half time when we add 4 more legends to our list, be nice to see Gray, Bracewell, Sheedy and Mountfield on the pitch. Well deserved accolade for all 4 of them.

Jerome (26), Yes we all see the game differently but I thought Everton’s mistakes that day gave United two goals which lifted United’s game and gave them the confidence they had lacked before the mistakes and they carried on to over run Everton, in fact I think they eased off in the second half and slowed the game down for an easy victory.

No bite Paul, just a limited squad that definitely doesn’t have enough aggression/ bite, in the wide areas, imo mate.

Surely Alkaraz, will keep his place? so the only position that I think Doucoure merits a start right now (highly debatable!) is running hard up and down the right side of our midfield.

At Old Trafford we gifted them two goals, we had the usual 11 bodies behind the ball, with the odd break away or two, he threw Beto straight into the lions den, starting him then having him isolated miles up the pitch.

Then at 4 nil down he put O,Brien and Patterson on, to face the boos at the end, pure shithouse from the Manager, yet the following game when we played Wolves and 4 nil up, neither O,Brien Beto or Patterson got any any minutes from the bench.

We have a better manager and set up play now, that 4 nil defeat was all down to awful set up play and errors at the back.

This Everton team is a lot better now, while even if a wounded tiger, this is nowhere near the Utd teams we have played in the past, forgive me for feeling a little confident for once against these, but if we play like we have,I just do not see any other result than an Everton win.

Just stick Sheedy, Gray and Bracewell on the bench :-)

Don't like being favourites, got tricky game written all over it this one.

These are a poor poor side but I remember last season that Garnacho scored the wonder goal, we missed loads of good chances and ended up losing 3 zilch.

Tony A. 31 surely not Doucoure out wide, yes he's got a great engine but he is a very limited footballer, and be fair could have made the derby more comfortable if he hadn't had missed those 2 good chances, no I'd leave Harrison on the left because I thought he played well last week.

Same team as the Palace game, we're down to the bare bones anyway, oh forgot according to the media it's only Spurs who have had major injuries, we've been at full strength all season yeah whatever.

Just watched Moyes presser.

What a difference, not only to Dyche's pressers but his own from first time around.

Much more upbeat, much more relaxed, and much, much better in handling the questions and the press in general.

Some good news in that Chermiti's back on the grass (his words not mine) as is Patterson.

Also it looks like Ili's injury isn't as bad as first feared and he's expected back sooner than first expected.

Exactly !
When Beto replaced the floundering DCL on more than one occasion and finished the game well, possibly doing much more in those few minutes, Than DCL done all game.

Especially the glorious goal that was ruled out against Newcastle, more than warranted an automatic starting place for the following game
but that was never the case.

Yet, the narrative for continuing with Young was.. according to Dyche, «  if your playing well, you should keep your place. That was always the case when I was playing « .

Off topic a little / I have been supporting Everton since about 1953/4 and since emigrating to Canada in 1976 I have made many visits back on a number of occasions with my last visit seeing the 3 wins against Forest the other lot and Brentford. Unfortunately our neighbors now have a Dictator who wants to take over our country, and last night Canada's Ice Hockey Team shown what I hope to see Everton do, and that is, if you want to be the best you have to beat the best. Utd may not be playing well, but to beat them tomorrow, in the eyes of the biased pundits, we will be making a huge
step in our ambitions to become one of the best.

Paul, I wouldn't be against Tony's suggestion of playing Doucoure on the right, for the reasons given. One think Doucoure is good at is running. That could see Lindstrom play more central, although I think that berth will go to Alcaraz.

Memorable matches against United? The 5 - 0 has been taken. I'm sure quite a few would go for the semi-Final penalty shoot out at Wembley. The amazing comeback from 3-1 down to equalise injury time. So, I'll go for a random one. I can't remember the year, some time in the late 80s but we won 3-2 at Goodison after being 3-0 up. I remember it as I'd been in Widnes for reasons I can't remember, I might have been seeing someone at the time. When I got on the train at Widnes station, I ended up sitting next to three United supporters.

They were okay. How times change. They were not in the slightest bit confident of their chances and told me they go into every season not expecting to win the league. Their last one had been 1967.

They're not looking great right now, and there is a lot going on in the background, but they still have good players.

Honestly, about the first time in 3 years I have been looking forward to a game instead of feeling like it's a duty such as going to a funeral either because of the dreadful play or because of the lurking dangers of relegation, liquidation etc.

On paper we should win based on both team's respective form but of course every losing team eventually wins and vice versa so who knows. With a thin squad it is going to be hard for us to maintain our recent run but it is nice to have games that are not do or die.

Even when Utd have been playing poorly prior to playing us they manage a win, their passing recently has always been sharper.
This time however I think matters will be different
From Everton in training we have changed, you can see the drills have emphasis on short passing and also driving through the middle and using Beto's assets to better effect, also Harrison was finding the back of the net ! !.
I have a feeling tomorrows performance will be the best of the lot with a resounding win.

I had to check which Brian I am responding to!!

Brian @47,

I caught the press conference. He's definitely a lot calmer and more relaxed. I liked how he was talking about the mood and the atmosphere amongst the players and the club.

He even had time for a joke at the end when asked about rebuilding in the summer, alluding to players being out of contract and not just at Everton. When quizzed if they would be the types he would go for and who, he came back by saying, well, there are a couple not too far from here!!!

Yes, dour Davey cracking a smile and getting few laughs from the journalists.

Wages make it absolutely unrealistic, but just imagine Salah walking out at Bramley Moore as an Everton player.

If we thought there was meltdown after the derby, I think the dark side would self combust!!

Mike Gaynes

Brian #47, ol' Davy has chugged around the track a few times since he left Goodison last time, and has broken down a few times on the way. I'm not surprised he's got a more mellow perspective in his pressers than he did years ago.

Tony #40, Doucs can often be found on the right touchline anyway, so your idea may not be as outlandish as it seems. But I have zero doubt he will be in the starting 11 (sorry, DK!), because he always is. Whatever he brings is highly valued by every manager he plays for.

It's very much worth noting that last weekend's win at Palace finally snapped the string on my favorite statistical oddity. It's the first time in three years -- since February 12, 2022 -- that Everton won a PL game without Doucoure on the pitch.

Tony Abraham - not for me to argue tactical points you have made as you have shown great perception over the years - but moving the Duke out wide gives us what Harrison gave us when he played there - lots of energy but no guile in an attacking sense. I would keep the team that started the CP game, if nothing else but to give them a bit of continuity confidence.

And I'm gonna add my own "welcome back" to Ian Burns! Long time no see, mate. Hope you are well.

I agree with Tony A.

Doucourie did have a brief stint out wide for Watord, including against us. He will definitely offer cover for our full back, be a more effective competing for the long diagonals and has the power to get beyond the full back for anything played in behind. He is never in this world a winger, but Moyes has a habbit of getting more than one job out of a player. The alternatives are limited.

Good to see you back MK. I don't know how much access you have at the moment, but if you could manage to update the current TW league table. It would be very much appreciated

Michael great to see you back and contributing regularly.

United have more technical ability and pace and before they lost their confidence could score a few even when playing badly so this is not the easy test some are expecting.

However given they are under pressure and we are on the ups I am hoping for a solid 3 points here.

As regards the Doucs v Alcaraz debate I thought Charly didn't look as fit as he needs to be so I suspect Doucs will get the nod and Charly will come on as sub in the second half.

Lets hope we feed Beto on the floor as Maguire is quite good in the air and He can slot a couple home.

I also see Harrison has been banging them in in training and he is long overdue for a goal.

As regards the other lot we need to keep Fernandes (The Suarez lookalike and act alike) quiet as well as making sure Garnacho doesn't get a run on our defense.

Hi Mike -58 - thank you. I never really went away just never posted comments. I would often feel frustrated by the previous manager’s dire football and it knocked the enjoyment of the game out of me but I still followed every TW comment, always with a glass in hand! Spend much time in Alabama these days.

Was that the 2-6 game on Boxing day? Think Andy Ritchie(?) scored a hat-trick.

Very true Ian, but I’d argue that Doucoure, is a lot stronger than Jack Harrison, and at least twice as strong as Lindstrom, imo mate!

Lindstrom has started to look better in patches but I have still to see a fullback have a really hard game against him, especially physically?

I don't suppose anyone has a spare ticket for tomorrow do they? I'm in Birmingham so halfway to Liverpool and this will likely be my last ever visit to Goodison if I can get a ticket.

Any spares going please let me know on 07809 510888. Thanks!

I to emigrated to Canada in 1976; however, my first game watching Everton was November 1949. My older brother took me, got a tram at the Pier Head or the train station to the ground, I can't remember which. Ted Sagar was in goal for Everton and Tom Finney was playing for Preston North End.

It must be rough for you living next door to that dictator Trudeau in Ottawa.
You have my deepest sympathy

Yes, they did gain a lot of confidence from errors and the run of the ball. There was a bit of disbelief about them.

It was similar against Chelsea, when we got hammered. Pochettino even said Everton were a difficult team to play against, in Everton's defence, as Everton opened up to Chelsea's strengths, such was his surprise.

Moyes's press conferences are really a breath of fresh air. There is a quiet confidence about him.

I challenged Tony earlier reason being is that while the duke may play with bags of energy and enthusiasm he cannot pass a ball 10 yards. I am not saying drop him but leave him in the middle where he can destroy and fill spaces.

United play with a back three so for me guile and pace would be the order of the day out wide. We don't have many players with either of the aforementioned attributes; however, Lindstrøm would be my choice if we are to get three points from the game tomorrow.

Well said Moyes in not wanting to go in to BMD until we are safe. I've not been anywhere near it as I'm a born worrier and I'll wait until we are guaranteed premier League. I told a taxi driver the other day not to drive past BMD. He asked was I a red and I said no, I'm a born blue but I don't want to see it until we are safe.

I’d thought one of the things that heralded our change in form was Lindstrom and O’Brien both getting plenty of game time. Doucs was getting plenty even before then; I think the voodoo he do is just on the wane even if he is as willing to run all game as ever.
I’d start Charly central and Lindstrom on the right, with Doucs giving multiple options for adjusting things from the bench if things aren’t working.
I’ve still got a feeling that at some point Lindstrom will weigh in with significant assists and some goals.
Hopefully the players have reviewed the previous game against United and see it as the rather meek surrender it turned into after we had first simply gifted them the advantage.
United are undoubtedly weak and this game can be 90% won simply by a composed and positive start that will show them we know that to be true. They are there for the taking and we want our goals difference rectifying! Come on you avenging Blues!
P.s. Can we legitimately include Orel Mangala in our list of wounded? Wasn’t the unfortunate lad returned to Lyon, allowing us to bring Charly in on loan?

Agree Si, the right side works a lot better since Lindstrom and O’Brien combined.

Alcaraz at number 10 will help us control the game more as he is better in possession. He looked good combining with Beto as well.

Ian #61, glad you're well and you still have your glass in hand... and I know what's in it!

Si #69, I've had the same feeling about Lindstrom since he first joined us, and I still think he'll put up some numbers.

Doucoure lossing possession often with a poor pass at Premier League level. Is a problem..Other players can do the same but in Doucoure case it is particularly so because of his role as the momentum of the team is going forward. It means the team can be caught between defensive and offensive play.

In Harrison's case he has improved a bit under Moyes. He is the type of player that Moyes can get a tune out of. Harrison must show Committment in training hence his repeated selection.Doucoure workrate probably impresses Moyes, but I have difficulty seeing what Moyes can do to improve his pass completion. Though I live in hope, since every player in this threadbare squad is needed

Where’s George? This is a morning for him to sing his song of groovy cosmic coloured rays of sunshine and blue optimism.

I can’t remember the last time I felt we were favourites to beat Manchester United. David Moyes’ football and results have excelled my wildest expectation,. I’m genuinely looking up the table and not below. The PSR restraints are coming off this summer. The new stadium is slobberingly world class.

The sky is blue, Spring is in the air, and our optimism soaring. What could possibly go wrong??

Would be great to get the win today, it’s a remarkable run we are on.

The squad is a bit thin but if Beto and Alcaraz carry on the heroics of last week then we can get the 3 points.

Man U are there for the taking, so many times we’ve put on a poor show against them when should have done better.

Whatever happens it’s just pure joy being able to look forward to the game with no sense of doom. What a turnaround it’s been.

Moyes will want this one badly. A point would keep the scoreboard ticking over nicely, but Goodison deserves a win. So 2:1 to the Toffees it is. UTFT!

Hard to know what utd will turn up.

I think the way we played against Palace will offer great hope. Playing these on the break will be the best way for points.
Their pace is the thing that can hurt us, so I expect us to sit in a bit and break, same script as Palace.
It's really about believing we don't need to fear them, ofcourse their wingers can hurt us, but keep them quiet and get beto doing what he done to 2 good CBs at Palace and I'm quietly confident.

2 players that will define Evertons game today are Beto and Alcaraz. If they turn up, they could prove to be Moyes 'springboard' to his continued success.

I love George, John, and hope he his getting stronger but every time he posts one of his wonderful posts before a game the players never have the ability to match him, unfortunately!

I’d love to hear from George, just to know how he his doing so I’d love to hear from him after the game celebrating an Everton victory.

The sun is out and it’s just nice to be going to Goodison Pk, knowing that our team are going to have a proper go, which is actually good enough for me right now. Hopefully it’s an enjoyable game🤞

Jumped straight to last post and was made up to see George's post. John and Tony say all I would have said. George's positivity knows no boundaries.

I am going for the blues by 2 today. Gave my Man Utd mate a 1 goal start last night. COYB.

Also, Tony, great to see you have your enthusiasm back for going the match.

These are not 'there for the taking'. They are in perfectly respectable form, and have won their last five here so will definitely be up for it.

I'd take a draw.

Raymond Fox
84 Posted 22/02/2025 at 10:38:45
The betting is 7/5 Everton 15/8 Utd and 13/8 the draw.

That's as close betting as you can get to them saying they can't pick a result. I can't remember seeing a draw as short as 13/8 for a long time.

We have been on a roll no doubt and they the opposite, but will that continue? They are in a mess but they are still Man Utd!

Hoping for a win but as the betting suggests anything can happen in this one.

George (80)Lovely to hear from you George, keep that spirit up George, it wasn't that long ago your 4-0 bet for the Blues every game came up against United — it would be a nice tonic for you George and everyone on here if it happened today.

Best wishes and good health George.
