Season › 2024-25 › News Goodison Park to operate at reduced capacity from next season Anjishnu Roy 16/05/2025 0comments | Jump to last Everton are planning to reduce the capacity of Goodison Park before the women’s team moves in at the beginning of the 2025-26 season. Plans are being drawn to close some of the upper tiers of the stadium. Goodison Park, home to Everton's men’s team since 1892, will host its final Premier League fixture as the Blues take on Southampton in an emotionally-charged affair on Sunday. Evertonians, however, were relieved to hear that the club’s plans to demolish the ground have been scrapped. Instead, Goodison Park will be the new home for the Everton women’s team following the men’s team moving into a new, world-class stadium at Bramley-Moore Dock next season. The women’s team, led by head coach Brian Sorensen, had been playing at the Walton Hall Park with an average attendance of 2,062 until recently. While the Grand Old Lady's current capacity stands at 39,572, the club plans on making the atmosphere more intimate. The Main Stand's top balcony, the Upper Bullens Road Stand and the upper tier of the Gwladys Street End will not be in use from next season and will instead be covered with the Everton women’s team branding. Ahead of the final men’s game at the historic site, the club had offered season ticket-holders and season hospitality members the opportunity to buy the seats they have used during this current campaign as a permanent souvenir to celebrate the more than century-old venue. Those plans will not be affected, and any seats bought will also be replaced by the club ahead of next season. Everton are also planning to reduce the number of seats in each row where seats have already been bought to make more room for fans.
