Dele Alli saga could take another twist

The long-running Dele Alli saga could take another twist if Cesc Fabregas is serious about giving the former Spurs and Everton player a chance to prove himself in Serie A with Como.

Dele Alli was spotted in the stands at the Stadio Giuseppe Sinigaglia on Sunday, 15  December for their 2-0 win against Roma, with Dan Friedkin also in attendance.

The former England international has been out of contract since his Everton deal expired in the summer but has been training with the club during efforts to overcome long-term fitness issues.

“I met him yesterday, I don’t want to talk about that today,” the 37-year-old said, via Alfredo Pedulla.

“There’s a chance he could train with us after Christmas, but only to get back into shape.”

The 28-year-old moved to Everton in January 2022 but hasn’t played a single game since the 2022-23 campaign when he was on loan at Besiktas but sustained an injury that needed surgery.

With new owners now, I think any sentiment regarding Dele will go out the window and he'll be sent on his way.

For a split second, my dyslexia got the better of me and I mistakenly thought that Dele Alli was in a coma.

To be fair, it would've explained his lack of action in recent years.

With Dan Friedkin in attendance.

Absolutely no chance of the two having a chat about the future. No possibility of 6 months at Como and if it works out we may offer you a contract in the summer.

I wouldn't say "absolutely no chance"... "pretty close to zero" is probably more accurate.

Duncan (3) When they give Delli the bill for all the treatment and training to help get him back to playing again that will get him out of a coma in a hurry or put him back into one!

He's no longer under contract so no longer our concern.

As widely published this week, 2025 may set me on a new path with some exciting opportunities. Before any of that happens it’s very important for me to make clear how grateful I am of all the fans, staff and players at Everton FC for the support they have given me.

“It’s been an incredibly tough journey trying to put the final pieces together to regain match fitness and I cannot thank the Everton staff enough for the hard work they have put into this process.Unfortunately things haven’t worked out as we all would have hoped and I think it is the right time to for me to turn a new page. I want to wish everyone at this amazing club the very best of luck and hopefully we will see eachother again very soon.”

Whatever spark Deli Ali had left him years ago the vacant lifeless stare has been there years. Mystified me how people at the club couldn't see it.

Great news to hear he’s doing whatever he can to regain full fitness
I would love, absolutely love, to see him get back to somewhere where we all expected to hope to see him
A great player with immense potential

Just one further comment
If, and I doubt, he ever gets back to where he should be and doesn’t pay back the support our Club has given him him both monetarily and supportively wise and come back to us without salary…… he should be horse whipped!
Another waster taken on by us!!!!
