Everton’s Jack Grealish has been named the Premier League’s player of the month for August after making a brilliant start to his career with the Toffees.
Grealish has won the prestigious award for the first time in his career after registering four assists in his two league starts - in wins over Brighton and Wolves. He made his Everton debut as a substitute in their campaign opener against Leeds United.
Grealish was part of an eight-man shortlist that also included Riccardo Calafiori, Hugo Ekitike, Marc Guehi, Erling Haaland, Joao Pedro, Antoine Semenyo and Dominik Szoboszlai.
He is the first Everton player to win this award since Dominic Calvert-Lewin in September 2020.
Before joining the Blues, Grealish had provided two assists in the same match only twice in his career - a feat he has already matched in his first two league starts for the club. He is also the first Everton player to register multiple assists in consecutive Premier League games.
Grealish will be looking to become the first to do so in three straight Premier League matches as he prepares to face his boyhood club, Aston Villa, this Saturday.

He has brought a much clearer, deeper, fresher breath of fresh air to Everton since his arrival. Now and again, one player can completely change a club's outlook, its fortunes, and Jack is, despite my initial reluctance to accept him, one of those signings.
If ever a time was due for us to be looking up instead of down, then this is it. I may even be sitting on my couch for the derby game against that lot, instead of hiding behind it, with hands clasped over my ears and mindlessly muttering "Blah, blah, blah.

Sandy Brown moved position quite a bit and Derek Temple came in off the wing to play centre-forward. John Hurst converted from a forward to a great defender. But of course they were all in the days of fewer subs and much smaller squads.

I think we are seeing the real Jack there.

Let's hope he gets better as he plays for us and wants to make the move permanent. Unlikely but not impossible.

City set his price at £50m in order to sanction the loan move, and blue donuts cost £6.50 at the new Stadium, so if we sell just over 769,000 this season which is around 40,400 per Premier League home game we could raise enough money - just by buying donuts.
Think about it. Us, we could buy him, with donuts.

Hopefully donuts are not being put up to £65 to compensate...

Why is it 'unlikely' that Jack Grealish would like to stay with us, Mike? My hunch is that, if things continue as they began, then he would rather like to stay with us.
Congratulations, Jack, and the first ever was in his first few weeks with us. That must tell you something, Mike.
JG is also by some distance the most transferred in player in FPL this week.
I don't have him though. I prefer Ndiaye who, crap I just saw, is injured according to FPL with a 'knock' - 75% chance of playing. And crap, Ait-Nouri has a 25% chance.

Apparently that £50M decreases by this season's end, and is not set.
Jack then has 1 year left on his Man City contract and could leave for nothing when that ends, so we will be in the driving seat if Jack wants to stay. I would say nearer half that.

Kompany, Ronaldo and Pirlo all changed positions and were better players. Can anyone name Everton players who switched?
