After much anticipation, Everton's Number 1 has signed a new 4-year contract that runs through June 2029, potentially extending his Everton residency to 12 years.
After once again committing his long-term future to Everton, Pickford says his sights are set on helping the club's bid to return to European competition.
"I'm delighted," he told Everton TV. "Delighted to get it done – it's an extra 2 years, so 4 years in total. I'm over the moon and it gives me the opportunity to build a legacy for myself here, move forward and build this club to where we want to be.
"Everton is a really special club to me. Coming from Sunderland as a young lad and growing into a man here, it's been a special time for me and my family.
"I think everyone's seen the changes and how I've developed over time, but I'm still that lad who loves to keep the ball out of the net. It's been Everton who have helped me develop and a lot of hard work's been put in as well.
"It's always felt like a natural fit for me, with the fans and the passion – it's second to none and something I thrive off.
"It's been a mega journey so far. I think the dark days are behind us and it's about building that momentum as a team and the club now, I think it's the whole deal, really.
"The new owners have come in and have shown they want to move us forward, the manager since he has come in has shown that, too, and us as players on the pitch.
"The manager wanted us to continue our form [from the end of last season] into this one and he'll keep pushing us.
"We've started well and we want to keep building that momentum and get Everton Football Club back to a team that competes in Europe. We know it's tough to do but it's a journey we want to go on and it's hard work that we'll put in as a club.
"We want to have that direction and, hopefully, one day we'll lift some silverware as well."

They've only been talking about it for the last 3 months!!! Perhaps they gave him Calvert-Lewin's contract by mistake! And with Sunderland snapping at our heels, just behind us in the Permier League table [Finally updated, please note!] musta been a tough one
It's finally done. He seems to be getting better and better, less immature, less prone to brainfarts. Let's hope he keeps it going for the next 4 years.

It's great to see his loyalty and love for this club. Top player!

None of my digs are 'sly'. They're all out there in plain sight. Sharp and incisive.

Agree with Jay @ 1, maybe asking/wishing for too much to see him better handling corners and crosses. Not a dig, but he is a bit shorter than most Goalkeepers !

Certainly the best in the Prem. in my opinion.
A clean sheet against City would be a fitting reward for his new contract commitment.
Realistically it's a big ask with Haaland bang in form but if the defense can put in a big show and frustrate them early then who knows what we can get out of this game.
We have some talent ourselves now and if he likes of Dibling (if he starts) and KDH put in a good shift they could surprise City. Would have preferred Branthwaite to have been ready though.
Doku on the wing could be a problem for Big Jake.

How he ranks with the past greats? I dont know. I only knew Nev in his portly days late 80s onwards at which time I personally rated Seaman and Schmeichel higher but Ill defer to the wisdom of my elders. Needless to say West was way before my time. So Ill leave those debates of the greatest ever to the Bobby Mimmsphiles and others but Southall, Martyn, Howard and Pickford all brilliant from my point of view.

We would be in the Championship without him.

More proof of negative bias against EFC.
Happy and proud hes stuck with us and not thought about ditching us for personal glory, which Im sure he could have done ,
before anybody starts bleating “where are the bids?”

Anyone know exactly how this works? I thought the original purchase cost (in this case, £25M in June 2017) was amortised over the length of the initial contract (5 years), so £5M per year through 2022.
But he signed a new 6-year deal in September 2018. With 1+ year already amortised, his residual book value was then say £18M, so spread over the next 6 years, that's £3M per year through 2024.
He next signed a new 4-year deal in February 2023, with say £5M + 4½ * £3M = £18.5M of his original book value already amortised. His residual book value is now down to £6.5M, so spread over the next 4 years, that's ~£1.65M per year through 2027.
And now he signs a new 4-year deal in October 2025, with say £18.5M + 1½ * £1.65M = ~£21M of his original book value now amortised. His residual book value is therefore now down to £4M, so spread over the next 4 years, that's ~£1M per year through 2029.
And according to Dr Plumley-Warner, financial expert, that is going to provide a massive PSR boost?
I say Bollocks to that. Although the cumulative effect for all players under contract no doubt, er, adds up. Okay, maybe.
But sometimes they call it a 'contract extension' rather than a 'new contract'... is that just semantics or poor reporting? My head hurts.

Also see that the Manc media have gone into overdrive suggesting that they will get Garner back on a free next season.
Let's get his new contract signed and shut these snakes up once and for all.
