Major events like concerts and live entertainment could move a step closer outside Everton’s new dockland home. Earlier this year, the Blues made an application to Liverpool Council to host gigs and boxing shows inside the bowl at Hill Dickinson Stadium.
The 52,769 capacity ground at Bramley-Moore Dock has already attracted the Rugby League Ashes Test Match in its inaugural season, alongside staging The Toffees’ first home games away from Goodison Park in 133 years. Now the club is seeking to expand its offer outside the stadium footprint.
A fresh bid has been lodged with the city council to provide a premises licence for the area encompassing the ground, including the fan plaza as supporters enter the ground from Regent Road. In the summer, the Blues confirmed it had begun taking bookings for non-matchday events at the new stadium. These included conferences, trade shows and exhibitions.
In a statement, Everton said it would host “outdoor concerts and events from 2025 and beyond”. Events will also be held in The Plaza, an outdoor space with capacity for up to 17,000 guests, which offers a versatile canvas for large-scale events.
According to details made public by Liverpool Council, the club has sought a licence to provide live events up to 11 pm. This would include the sale of alcohol.
On matchdays, the area opens three hours before kick-off with pre-match entertainment and food on sale. The new application would allow Everton to open the area from 8 am to 11:30 pm. A similar bid was made for inside the stadium bowl in the summer.
The Local Democracy Reporting Service (LDRS) understands the club is considering a variety of events to hold in the space all year round.
The bid to expand its offering is the latest in a series of announcements of plans for the stadium. Last week, it was confirmed Liverpool is one of 16 host cities named within the bid for the 2035 Women’s World Cup to be staged across the UK with Hill Dickinson Stadium among the venues included.
This came hot on the heels of the club confirming it will host Super League’s Magic Weekend in 2026, and its status as a Uefa Euro 2028 host venue with five games slated to take place. A date has yet to be confirmed for the latest application to be considered by the city council.

So not really an "update on concerts and events at Hill Dickinson Stadium". Nothing about upcoming concerts or events that we didn't know already.
And I've never heard of the Local Democracy Reporting Service... funded by the BBC!!! What the fuck?
