The sun will be shining
The M62 will sport many a blue & white banner The pub will be chocca The lads will be there The laughter will be loud The jokes much the same The (2) bar staff will be stunned theres a game on The mind yer car lads will look that little older And so will we. The walk up Walton Park Avenue will be joyous The smell of fried onions & horse shit will emanate from the corner of Bullens Rd & Gwladys St. The shop will be empty of stuff The paint will be bluer than you remembered it The faces will be familiar The hellos as if it were yesterday & not May you last spoke The nets will be Persil white The grass will be greener than ever before The proey will be dearer The faces will be happy The st end will be bathed in August sunlight The Park End will simmer in the shade The Z Cars alert will be music to our ears The roar will make the hairs on your neck stand up The shirts will be better And so will the team (!) The highs will be matched with the lows The joy with the pain The half time break a blur The win will be ours The day will be perfect The badge will be kissed The reason we go to the game Preno |
