U18s triumph at Norwich

Courtney Duffus scored the only goal as Everton U18s got back to winning ways by beating Norwich City 1-0 today.

The young Blues settled into their stride early and a flowing 25-pass move very nearly brought a goal inside the opening minutes.

The visitors continued to dominate but squandered a number of chances before taking the lead just before half time. George Green's fine work allowed him to play the ball through for striker Duffus to round the keeper before sliding it home for the game's only goal.

The Canaries improved after the break but Everton would suffer just the one nervy moment — Curtis Langton in the right place at the right time to hack the ball off the line as City briefly threatened to snatch an equaliser.

The young Blues recovered well from their recent defeat to Reading with a good away win.

Everton U18s: Griffiths; Connolly, Graham, Langton, Thorniley; Shannon, T Duffus, Charsley (75' Doweel); Dyson, Green (87' Donoughue), C Duffus.
