Thanks again for a great read. I agree with most of your ratings. I would however give Bolasie a bit more with a 6-7. He's a game changer. Without his intervention, I really can't see a goal coming ...

No one had a really bad game yesterday. Robles and Oviedo were much improved. Barkley and Lukaku improved as the game went on, and possibly because West Ham really started tiring towards the end. For the Chelsea game, I would go with:

Robles;
Coleman, Williams, Funes Mori, Oviedo;
Cleverley, Barry;
Bolasie, Barkley, Lennon;
Lukaku.

Subs: Hewelt, Jagielka, Holgate, Davies, Mirallas, Deulofeu, Valencia.

Love Koeman's attitude to player's performance levels, basically it's do the job required or you're out! That's how it should be, no exceptions, no favourites – unlike his predecessor.

At last, we got a decent performance out of Barkley, something that should happen consistently, be the norm, and not a once-a-season happening. Now he's has met the standard, he has to maintain it.

All credit to Ross and I'm looking forward to him tearing the RS to pieces in December, I'm sure Koeman will be demanding no less.

Thanks for that, Paul. I was at the ground on Saturday, and from my seat in the Upper Bullens, was disappointed at the fact that almost all of the occupants of the Directors and shareholders seats opposite in the Main Stand, disappeared quickly for their half-time break leaving most of the seats empty as usual.

This, despite the heartfelt appeal from young Rhys's Dad, before the match, for supporters to stay in their seats at half-time to help re- create that very moving day when the entire ground, including the Blackburn fans, stood and applauded the memory of the poor lad.

Maybe I'm being over sensitive, but it didn't seem right that most of them, a few isolated individuals aside, didn't feel they could be bothered to take part in the gesture, .even if it was for the purposes of filming.

Full marks to the many West Ham fans who did join in – not all, but enough to restore a little faith in the idea that lifelong supporters of any football club do actually care and matter.

Oviedo rated 7 and Lukaku rated 9, really Paul?

Well, we all see the game differently, I suppose.

Dave, I agree with you. I would have given Oviedo at least an 8 to go with Lukaku's 9!

Far from being harsh, I thought Gana was lucky to escape with only a yellow card for preventing a goal scoring opportunity.

After a brilliant start to the season, his recent performances have failed to match that high standard. He has been a six out of ten performer since the Bournemouth match.

I know Oviedo will never be Baines. But I thought he did well on Sunday. He was up for it, and that covers up a multitude of sins.

Is Bolasie the new Osman, Paul?

I don't know how he can get a 5 and be on the field for 90 minutes and create the first goal (that didn't look like it was coming) and Jags and Lennon get 6 each for a few minutes.

Liam, it looks to me that a few of these marks are centred on the last 30 minutes, which are usually the most fresh in people's minds.

All about opinions but, if Lukaku could play for even 60 minutes like he played the last 30 yesterday, then Everton would surely be a much stronger team.

Liam @ 10, if you watched the whole game, Bolasie did little else; he even managed to make a fool of himself showing off, and ended up doing a David Dunn. I think we should be getting more from a £25m player.

I'm with Liam on the Bolasie talk, you can't get an assist and get a 5 if your team only scores 2!!!

He whipped in some decent crosses, worked hard and again got his assist.

If Jagielka, Cleverley, Lennon and Mirallas get a 6 then Bolasie can't get less.

I agree that Bolasie is a frustrating player, but he continues to outshine anyone else at the club in wide areas.

In our last 4 goals, Bolasie has scored 1 and assisted 2, that's what we paid the money for, and for me he's delivering.

Anthony, he put over some great crosses in the first half but, unless our centre-forward is prepared to attack the front post and get across the first defender, these crosses will always get cleared away.

I thought the longer the game went, the worse Bolasie became, but it surely can't be helping the players, the way they keep saturating the pitch at half-time.

What has happened to Mirallas?

He offers absolutely nothing nowadays, likewise Deulofeu when he starts.

I think it's high time Lennon is given a chance, he can't do any less than those two.

A tad over generous with the points again, Paul, although Bolasie was worth a 6 – at least.

I thought the three 'reserves' brought in did surprisingly well!

Oviedo did get very good ratings elsewhere, so I think you are seeing him permanently as the shadow of himself that he was after his comeback from his injury.

Before that injury, he had really grown on me from my initial negative opinion of him, so I'm feeling he's just needed this spell of first-team football to get back on track again. Well, I'll keep my fingers crossed for that!

Barkley and Lukaku were superb and it was good to see all the plaudits coming their way after a tad of criticism of the two of them over the last few weeks.

Barkley has a poor workrate, we can't afford to have players like him in our team. The bar has been raised, the standards are high, we don't have time for players like Barkley.
