John Dean 2 Posted 05/08/2016 at 07:51:52 Don't recall either the club or ToffeeWeb publishing details of this game beforehand. Were the public not welcome at the game? The Walsh situation is intriging. After tearing up a storm at Yeovil, I expected him to make the first team squad for pre-season but he's kept back with u21s and sent off early on in their game in the Milk Cup in Northern Ireland. Now he isn't making the starting eleven for u21s. Is this an attempt to temper his susceptibility to the red mist that descends on him frequently? He's a terrific player who should play a part in Everton's future. Peter Mills 3 Posted 05/08/2016 at 08:00:42 John, I was disappointed to find I had missed the match. I was keen to go having seen we had won our semi-final. Prescott Cables only won theirs last Saturday, it was a surprise this morning to discover the final had taken place. John Dean 4 Posted 05/08/2016 at 10:07:46 Yes, Peter, very disappointing although perhaps not surprising given that the semi-final seemed to happen on the sly as well.TW did say last season it would publish details of upcoming u21 games to try to increase attendance rates but they seem to have fallen at the first hurdle. Lets hope it was just an oversight or evidence of a lack of an action plan and not a sign that they were just saying the right things. Peter Mills 5 Posted 05/08/2016 at 11:26:22 I wouldn't go as far as that John, I think the TW guys do a remarkable job. Anyway, I'm not going to let my absence from the match detract from my pleasure that we have won a cup! Ray Roche 6 Posted 05/08/2016 at 11:42:36 It was publicised in the Echo wasn't it? And the official site? Paul Ellam 8 Posted 05/08/2016 at 15:55:01 Winning trophies? It's a lovely habit to get in to!Well done to the lads and Unsworth who in particular is showing signs of what a great manager he may turn out to be.Now it's time for the senior squad to win something! Shane Corcoran 9 Posted 08/08/2016 at 18:02:30 Not sure where's best to post this but an Everton Development squad are playing a Dundalk XI tonight in Oriel Park. Here's the squad Link Add Your Comments In order to post a comment, you need to be logged in as a registered user of the site. » Log in now Or Sign up as a ToffeeWeb Member — it's free, takes just a few minutes and will allow you to post your comments on articles and Talking Points submissions across the site.
