Everton's Tom Davies scored England Under-19s' only goal as they drew 1-1 with the Netherlands in Telford today.

The 18-year-old was joined in the starting XI by his Finch Farm team-mate Nathan Holland while Antony Evans was named among the substitutes and Davies got onto the scoresheet with a header off a left-wing cross in first-half stoppage time.

The Dutch equalised through Justin Hoogma with seven minutes to go forcing a penalty shootout that England eventually won. Evans replaced Davies with an hour gone while Holland was withdrawn after 80 minutes in favour of Aston Villa's Rushian Hepburn-Murphy.

Elsewhere, at Under-21 level, Gerard Deulofeu captained Spain again this evening who beat Lithuania San Marino 6-0.

Don't get why Davies hasn't been handed a squad number... looked like he was pushing for a 1st team place.

This lad is just going to be one of our best ever products. I've followed him for the last 2 seasons and he has unbelievable stamina. Then add to that already ball skills that will only get better and we have a gem made right here.

Jamie, he's wearing #26 this season.

He's not listed in the final first team squad of 25 because he qualifies as an unlimited Under-21 player.

Jamie, he even made an (very promising, yet brief) appearance in our last game.

Alan #2 This is good news. As Fran said he did put in a brief appearance but nevertheless made quite an impression.

This lad is going to be a diamond. Especially under Koeman. Hope he gets lots of playing time this season!

There was a touch of the Cahill about his goal.

I like this boy. A very well rounded player; skill, stamina, vision and a good attitude. I am certain that he will develop further into a valuable player for the club.
