Finally... a mainstream media writing positively (with sympathy) about us.

I never buy the fact that Stallone is a fan of ours. But hey, the Rocky quote used in the article really fits us though. For those who have not watched the Rocky movie from which the quote comes, here is the scene:

I'm sure Dyche has shown it to the players sometime earlier this season.

I find this paragraph "With the club having devised a funding plan for the stadium in 2018 based on capital from Moshiri and borrowing from investment banks including JP Morgan and MUFG" in complete contrast to the The Esk's commentary.

Paul says that it is all Moshiri's failure to obtain senior funding, only seeking piecemeal 'dodgy' funding, that is the cause of the financial shortfall for the stadium, rather than:

"The landscape changed with the financial fallout of the global pandemic. Previously affordable interest rates on the borrowing rocketed -- "The financial landscape for developers changed, and the club couldn't afford the new rates on offer," a source told ESPN"

If true ,it seems that Moshiri did have a cunning plan, Baldrick, after all.

But it also seems odd that we can now afford the high rates from the 'dodgy' sources.

We should be fighting to make sure Moshiri isn't allowed to sell the club to 777 Partners. Everything else can surely wait.

Excuse my ignorance but what will administration mean for us exactly?

That Paul Kossoff will go off on how he told us it could happen.

Ted, it means we'll start next season with a 9-point deduction.

However, I personally don't think it will come to that. I think it is all brinkmanship between rich people trying to get the best deal and Everton are the pawn.

Just my gut feeling and that all will be over shortly, with 777 the victors.

Steve, I agree with you down the line until your last point.

I think MSP will call their loan at the last minute and emerge with the majority of the ownership shares.

I would really love for the Board to survey all the supporters and see how much each of them could stump up to collectively buy out EFC.

A properly run club based on sound business practice would surely make it an attractive long-term business venture, especially with the new stadium. You wouldn't be paying over the odds for players and probably use more of a statistically assessed model to recruit players (like Brentford and Brighton) as well as academy prospects.

Revolutionary thinking maybe but why can't we, as “The People's Club”, try something different??
