Everton have revealed details of the second test event to be held in the new Everton Stadium at Bramley-Moore Dock in preparation for the start of the 2025-26 season.

The club confirmed on Friday a follow-up event will take place on Sunday, 23 March, with Paul Tait’s Under-21s involved in the on-field action, after the first test event for the Under-18s played out last month.

The opponents haven't been named at this point but a 2 pm kick-off time will see a reduced-capacity crowd of 25,000 fans offered the chance to see the interior of this magnificent new stadium for themselves.

Thousands of fans have already claimed tickets for the second test event via a ballot that was held in January. With the date now confirmed, Club Members will be given a second opportunity to secure a seat when tickets go on sale from 10 am on Monday, 3 March.

Those who attended the first test event are not eligible during the priority window before it is extended to all official members from 10 am on Thursday, March 6.

Tickets are priced at £5 for adults and £2.50 for concessions.

Tickets will be issued digitally for this and subsequent events and fixtures. However, the club say ''† Any supporters who have a legitimate reason for being unable to access digital tickets should contact the Everton Fan Centre.'

I wonder what constitutes a legitimate reason? Not having a compatible phone, not having a phone at all, or having such poor eyesight that they cannot use a smartphone?

If their eyesight is that bad, I doubt if they'd see much of the game, Allen, and if it is, I would imagine they'd have an escort with them. I've seen several vision-impaired fans at the ground with an escort who relays the match to them.

I phoned the Box Office and asked them if a credit card system like we have now would be introduced but I was told it would be digital on your phone only, with certain exceptions. I much prefer the credit card system. Whenever there's a holdup at the Tunnel, it's always someone using their phone.

Let's hope whoever we play they have no ex-reds or supporters in the team. Any chance those bastards have to get one over on us they take, no matter how small or trivial.

Ray, the poor eyesight is an extreme example.

I need reading glasses for close work, including using my phone, but my sight is well above the standard required for driving. I guess everyone's different.

I agree about the cards though but it seems the club have made up their mind.

I've heard, but I don't for one second believe it to happen, that Rangers will provide the opposition for the second test event.

U21s or not, they would bring thousands down, with not one of them being able to gain access to the stadium, or at least they shouldn't be allowed to. As I say though, I doubt very much it will be Rangers.

Ah shite, Rob, and my FPL team - thanks for the good news. I thought that he got off pretty lightly after he tried to murder Ipswich players after the final whistle. That will also be in the minds of the suits for this second offence. How can it not be, even if they are told not to include it?

Yeah, bring the Bears down. We'll be able to move into the stadium by 2027 after they've left their "mark".

The Bears. They'd shit themselves if they met proper ultras from Italy or France.

Just tell the powers that be to have a quick look at Tommy Wright's testimonial and then it will be Marine Ladies.

Who'd have thought Hewey, a kopite pie-eater scoring the first ever goal at the Dock. And, Hewey, counting down the minutes until Warrington play the world champion quadruple winning mighty Wigan in Las Vegas!

I’m sure it was Tommy Wright’s testimonial, a very cold night, when a Rangers fan made his way onto the pitch wearing only a scarf.

Is right Peter and rumours of another with a shotgun and an attempt to invade the Gladwys Street. I think that it was a pretty poor attendance in the range of 18,000 or so. TW deserved much better and a good third or more were Bears.

Apropos nothing, there was a tremendous game at Marine today. 4th placed Hereford were the visitors, leading 2-0 at halftime.

Struggling but resurgent Mariners battled back to draw 2-2, unlucky not to get a late winner.

Some dodgy refereeing, a disallowed goal, a bit of blood and snot, no whinging, no VAR, a pint while watching the match in the sunshine. £10 as a concession. Attendance 1,913. It's building.

Let's hope the council and merseyrail get their acts together before the start of the new season.

Transport and Safety hasn't just become an issue, the council have had 4 years to sort this out.

Barriers like 'cattle pens' at sandhills...where have we heard that phrase before? None existent street lighting, parking exclusion zones. It's almost like they don't want us down there.

The council have bent over backwards for the other shower, allowing the degradation of anfield road housing before allowing the demolition and actual building into the green space.

The first test event has highlighted these things let's hope they are acted upon.

One last thing I hope the guy who bragged and posted himself robbing the food kiosk whilst being racist to the young lad serving him gets his season ticket taken off him, such a horrible thing to do and we wonder why Scousers get a bad reputation.

Affiliation with both Peter Mills. Marine as they are a Merseyside / Liverpool based club and Hereford. Two reasons with the latter, I spent a bit of time in that part of the country and a certain Kevin Sheedy played there earlier in his career.

I went to the first test event and while transport infrastructure and parking need to be addressed, I will never forget the feeling stepping into BMD for the first time, my reaction was almost childlike. I didnt apply for tickets for the 2nd test event as I want the next time I go into BMD is with a full stadium with the first team playing.

Rob @ 19, spot on there with that post. It is almost inconceivable that little or rather nothing has been done by the Council, to help. This is the catalyst to regeneration of a run-down area and they haven't been able to grasp that, or have wilfully ignored it.

I remember reading that when the ' project had been approved and given the go ahead ' there was talk of everything from a new Railway Station nearer to BMD, Trams or Monorail links from the City and possibly ferries on matchdays. The only thing they have come up with is making it more difficult to get near or drop off to BMD !

I am still trying to find out how as an out of town supporter I am supposed to get to the ground having safely parked my car.
Not knowing that area of town at all, myself and many other travelling home fans, will need help.
I mentioned on another thread about the Sale RUFC model. Free parking and park and ride. I can't see any football club behaving in such a philanthropic manner, but it would be nice to be proved wrong.

Looking further ahead to the Autumn:

Rugby League International set for Everton Stadium

England face Australia in a three-test series this autumn and the new Everton Stadium is being planned as one of the three venues for the games coming this autumn.

Exactly what we should be seeing Michael. A multi sport, multi purpose stadium the generate revenue for the club. Rugby League was always going to be a no-brainer, given the city's location at the end of the M62 heartland of the sport, stretching from Hull, past Leeds, Salford and nearby Wigan, St Helens and Widnes.

With American owners, I wouldn't be surprised to see NFL matches as well as Boxing and concerts.

On concerts, it would be interesting to get views on who. They may be from Manchester, but if they could get together for a one-off, the Stone Roses. I was a bit of an Indy freak back in the day and to hear "Mersey Paradise" belting out at decibels loud enough to be heard over Anfield would be great!!!

I and several other people I know are seriously worried about the digitalisation of tickets. I don't have a 'smart'phone, I never want a smartphone and a hell of lot of other people of my age don't want or can use them either.

In fact in every respect Everton is carrying out ageist and ableist hate crime against a portion of the population (see, we oldies can play that game too). Perhaps I should call the police in.

If you want an example try using a touch screen if you have Parkinsons.

Brian Denton
28 Posted 03/03/2025 at 14:58:19
Ron, I suspect a lot of the motivation behind digitalisation is to stop people passing on their seats to a friend, as opposed to forcing people to sell on unused seats to strangers via 'our trusted partners' where of course Everton gets a cut.
Ron Sear
29 Posted 03/03/2025 at 15:14:24
Brian, I tend to agree with you theory but there is a simple solution just ask those who want a printed season ticket to have photo of themselves on the card. It works on my bus pass and I'm quite happy to fork out another tenner for the privilege. Interestingly you would probably be surprised at the sheer number of people who still have flip phones and pay with cash in our shop. Telling people as some people I have seen do to "get up to date" is pretty nauseating tRUmp behaviour.

I don't mind it Ron and it works well. Just don't lose your phone!!

It's worked fine for me. When you get an email confirmation, you have a PDF that you can print off or the option to download into your Apple or Samsung wallet on the phone. I do the latter.

Recently, when I've managed to purchase multiple tickets (Bournemouth FA Cup, Brentford away), I can email to family and friends and they can either print off or download.

The only downside is once you download, I think it's difficult to retrieve, if you lose your phone. But I guess a trip to the ticket office with your membership number could sort that out.

I heard that at the new stadium, it would go all digital, but when my brother renewed, before transferring to me, we did have the option of ordering a card for backup.

Allen Rodgers
31 Posted 03/03/2025 at 15:34:20
Danny, when I renewed for next season 25/26 there was no option to order a card. I have since enquired to Box Office and fan liason officer and been told cards may be issued in exceptional circumstances. There will be more info forthcoming when all ST's have been allocated for the new stadium.

Hi. I can give Ron some good news. To cut a very long story short I have been involved in communication with Everton and the premier league about digital tickets and age discrimination on behalf of my brother who was twice denied a season ticket when he went to the box office, as he doesn’t have a mobile phone, despite being a holder for over 50 years. Everton said it was all a terrible mistake and have now agreed to issue him a physical season ticket. So my advice is to email the box office explaining your predicament and the manager should be able to help you out.

Ron/Brian just for your info Everton have no option but to go down the digital ticket route. From 26/27 it is a requirement of the Premier League https://www.premierleague.com/news/4071456

Bit of a relief, I just found this on the Premier League website:Will I have to use a Digital ticket?
League rules will require clubs to ensure that Season Tickets and all Home and Away Match Tickets by default are made available as digital tickets. Clubs will retain some discretion to make some tickets available in other formats to supporters who have reasonable grounds to request them. This may include supporters who have a disability that makes the purchase or use of digital tickets challenging. Other examples include some group bookings, such as school or Club Community partners.

Clubs will consult with supporters’ representatives to develop suitable policies and exemptions.

I don’t think the fella was being racist, Rob. Maybe you are thinking of Roots, (unless it was because he asked for a black coffee?) but doing a Toby, usually means doing a little walk that might take you towards trouble - if you’re looking for it, - or getting away from a situation that might bring you trouble, after you have been a naughty boy, which was the more the case in this instance.

Charles Barrow

Not wishing to be too legally pedantic but the premier league statement is clearly insufficient. It is a right for certain categories of fans to receive alternative season tickets, not a discretion. Otherwise clubs are clearly in breach of the equality act on the grounds of indirect disability or age discrimination. Anyway Everton seem to have understood this which is the important point!

Scares me to death Alan, incomprehensible imo, but the acceptance is so meek, like people haven’t got the time or the inclination to realise what is happening to humanity, something which has become more and more robotic since they got everyone working from home during the pandemic.🤷‍♂️

And they've blocked off Anfield Road, with no complaints from the council.

Working from home is interesting. I'm not a fan of total remote. You lose that human interaction.

I watched Panorama a couple of weeks back and many were making the case for. One went as far to say that he didn't want to go back at all because he played golf on Fridays.

007 lower south stand - will that be the area for possible future safe standing?
Ps - have they got the ale license yet? How can they do a proper H&S check if 90% of us aren't wobbly?
