Villa have a really good squad now, made loads of changes with Champions League in mind midweek… but they are 2-up on Forest and looking good.

They recruited really well — I will never forgive Benitez for selling Lucas Digne.

Oh, I might've spoken too soon — Forest just pulled one back, they've started the 2nd half well…

Oh, I might've spoken too soon - no you didn't Mick, but Forest should have got at least a point.

How long did that VAR check take before ruling out Spurs second goal?

It was at least five minutes, so if it's taking that long then surely it's not a clear and obvious error and so very, very close, and it should have stood… just as Spurs do make it 2-0.

I see the Premier League Matchweek thread is being omitted from the home page again.

So nobody can see any recent comments. Get a grip, Mr Kenrick! 😄😄

I see the hung, drawn and quartered Mac Allister is playing and scoring today, after completing the match in midweek despite rolling around like a man with a broken leg, following Tarkowski's clearance.

Saints fan on 606 was saying how much he loved Goodison Park and can't wait for the game and the day which, he said, would be very special.

That Manchester derby was a hard watch, Roy Keane and Gary Neville weren't very complimentary.

Also, big Ange putting the boot in on VAR again: 4 minutes to disallow a Spurs goal today and 6 minutes mid-week; he's not a fan.

I hate it myself.

That's my biggest issue with VAR Rob, why does it take so long? It smacks of "I used to be indecisive, but now I can't make my mind up".

I fell asleep watching the Manchester derby.

Small things in life, the party is on hold with Iwobi on the scoresheet!

After watching MacAllister rolling over & over trying to get Tarky sent off on Wednesday, Diaz was at it yet again today. Actually he’s a serial culprit & got Young sent off in the Anfield Derby last season with his rolling antics. I’m amazed the media hasn’t picked up on this, then again, look who he plays for.

If VAR picks it up they should make the decision not send it down to the Referee.

Alsao when is the league going to step in regarding all the time wasted at corner kicks.
The players know the rules so the referee should let them carry on with all the clutching and grabbing, let the kick be taken and then have the guts to call the penalty for the first sign of a defensive foul whatever it is.

Too much time is wasted when the referee stops the kick and starts finger wagging at the crowded six yard box players and as soon as he steps back they start all over again. Call the penalty which will stop these shenanigans once and for all.

There needs to be a time limit of 30secs on VAR. No decision by then means the on field call stands. Currently it is hopeless and ruing the enjoyment.

We are not going to be relegated, but looking at the table there is every chance we will finish 17th - one place above relegation. Depressing prospect, but I guess we'd have settled for that in January.

For once the way of Premier League football ensures we're free already of relegation, again.

It, and K&M - obviously, also ensures we'll struggle like fuck to do much better next season or the season after that to have a hope of success, success being qualifying for Europe.

The success-denying wounds inflicted on us are, and always were, for decades, blindingly obvious.

Aged 70 I just pray, bizarrely!, that Friedkin has it in his heart, head and wallet to restore even a modicum of the fabulous reputation Everton had before self-serving, devious ponces took over our club, and destiny still to come, in the late 20th century.

Great stuff from Marco today, absolutely out footballing them and again exposing the diminishing returns that is Van Dijk now.

Don, "self-serving, devious ponces took over our club" made me smile in a Monday morning!

You could be onto something about 17th, Wolves are in some form.

Don, it's all opinions I know but I totally disagree with your vision of next season.

3 smart signings in key positions (and Alcaraz in for Doucoure is one of those) and we will be a decent side capable of top half.

In my honest opinion, we're already a better side than many give us credit for. Without wanting to tempt fate no-one will smash us this season. Next season, I expect a step up.

Danny (16),

“I used to be indecisive, but now I can't make my mind up.”

Moyes would be the ideal man to be in charge of VAR!
