Another chance to watch that kid, Yamal.

Only 17 and he's already played over 100 games... that is insane.

Mind you, if we had a decent manager at the time instead of David Moyes, then perhaps Wayne Rooney's development would have been as impressive…

Not to mention a Chairman too, Michael.

The one we had was selling him to Newcastle, then went running to his mam when the Mancs came in with an equally derisory offer, crying "They've took our boy, Mum!"

Michael Kenrick

True, Colin, talk about selling us short. Kewright set a precedent that lasted for... well, we're still selling them cheap!

We'll see what happens with Branthwaite... the noise seems to have subsided at least.

This season:

50 Appearances
15 goals
24 Assists!

I think that shows how unselfish he is.

Saturday reminded me that Branthwaite is not having a season to justify a £60M price-tag.

I have a hunch that he might follow Jonathan Woodgate to Real. (That worked out well, didn't it?)

A few poor passes from Yamal...

But I shouldn't be so critical.

This is a fascinating game. The inter coach esp has adjusted his tactics from last week. Barca's high line verges on surrealism at times!
Kieran Kinsella
8 Posted 06/05/2025 at 20:20:58
Hansi Flick is the only manager still in the competition who has won it before. For some reason the same managers seem to win it over and over. For that reason I suspect Barce will win -- although I'd prefer Inter
Michael Kenrick
9 Posted 06/05/2025 at 20:22:17
I was about to say that this Barca high line looks very breakable to me.

Paul Ferry
10 Posted 06/05/2025 at 20:22:32
Super goal — a silly high-line goal.

11 Posted 06/05/2025 at 20:39:16
Paul,

Jarrad might not be at his best, but he is still by far our biggest asset. Take a look at this Quansah fella across the park, this guy was picked above Jarrad by Southgate (!!??) — he is having a nightmare every time he plays for the RS.

I don't know you personally, Paul, but I reckon we both know a quality player when we see one.

Paul Ferry
12 Posted 06/05/2025 at 20:44:38
got the player before the ball - pen
Paul Ferry
13 Posted 06/05/2025 at 20:49:14
Cheers Edward. Oh Jarrad is quality. I mentioned yesterday that he is one of two of our players who would get into a top 6 team - JP is the other one in my opinion. But I still don't think that Jarrad has had a consistent season. In my mind/memory he had a better first one.

Even 'kopites' come down hard on Quansah on 606. Was Southgate trying to make some sort of statement? But to who? When he reaches his prime Jarrad will have left little Gareth far behind in the centre-half stakes.

This is going to be a great second half.
Liam Mogan
15 Posted 06/05/2025 at 20:49:58
Definitely a pen. Went through players foot. Barca now whinging.

Inter dominated and Inzaghi definitely learnt a lot from first leg. Big halftime for Herr Flick

Robert Tressell
16 Posted 06/05/2025 at 20:51:46
Great match. Inter must be the most well organised team in Europe. They have some excellent players but it is as a team they excel. And a few players like Dumfries and Thuram have taken their game to a new level.
Rob Halligan
17 Posted 06/05/2025 at 20:53:25
I don’t think that was a penalty. Definitely played the ball first before any contact with the Milan player..
Liam Mogan
18 Posted 06/05/2025 at 20:54:31
Players tend to get better when they are well coached and have that desire to improve, Robert.

Dumfries has been everywhere.

Mike Gaynes
19 Posted 06/05/2025 at 20:56:11
Sorry Rob. Foot first. Never got the ball at all. And I'm for Barca.
Liam Mogan
20 Posted 06/05/2025 at 20:57:50
Top level, top quality football.

The Inter tactics have been spot on.

Barca now relying on genius

Liam Mogan
21 Posted 06/05/2025 at 20:59:50
He never touched the ball at all. He hits Martinez foot and it's Martinez foot which moves the ball.

At speed it looks like he gets it, but it's an optical illusion.

Jeff Armstrong
22 Posted 06/05/2025 at 21:01:23
Nah defender got Martinez foot first which pushed Martinez’s foot onto the ball, but was it a clear and obvious error by the ref in real time?
Isn’t that what VAR is for?
Mike Gaynes
23 Posted 06/05/2025 at 21:03:36
Yep Jeff, I'd say that's exactly what VAR is for. In real time, from behind, there'd be no way for the ref to see the defender hadn't gotten the ball.
Rob Halligan
24 Posted 06/05/2025 at 21:04:44
Nah, defender definitely played the ball first. That is not a clear and obvious error by the referee and the penalty should not have been awarded.
Paul Ferry
25 Posted 06/05/2025 at 21:05:23
Just shows how shite Barca's high-line is against well-organised teams. Inter coasted that half and Limahl was hardly in the game. I don't think that Flick has radical rethink in him but Barca need to be a different team in this half. Inter deserve to go through so far.
Liam Mogan
26 Posted 06/05/2025 at 21:07:05
That Limahl has been 'Too Shy' in the first half, Paul.
Paul Ferry
27 Posted 06/05/2025 at 21:08:40
'eye to eye' mate
Michael Kenrick
28 Posted 06/05/2025 at 21:09:14
Strange dogmaarism there, Rob.

It seemed clear and obvious on the slo-mo that the defender's foot is contacting the Milan player's foot, pushing it onto the ball.

The defender made no contact with the ball.

Penalty was the correct decision. I'd say watch it again but you should have seen that already!

Liam Mogan
29 Posted 06/05/2025 at 21:11:30
Something needs to change from Barca. They are second to everything and just whinging all the time at every decision.
Jeff Armstrong
30 Posted 06/05/2025 at 21:13:24
Game on
Liam Mogan
31 Posted 06/05/2025 at 21:14:00
Great finish
Paul Ferry
32 Posted 06/05/2025 at 21:14:57
that was a Limahl finish
Rob Halligan
33 Posted 06/05/2025 at 21:16:16
Barca back in it. Should be level except for a poor penalty decision against them.
Jeff Armstrong
34 Posted 06/05/2025 at 21:16:27
What a save by Sommer
Liam Mogan
35 Posted 06/05/2025 at 21:16:40
Thought that was pickford in goal v Chelsea there!
Michael Kenrick
36 Posted 06/05/2025 at 21:16:49
Incredible sequence. What a miss.
Liam Mogan
37 Posted 06/05/2025 at 21:17:26
It was well a pen Rob 🤣
Paul Ferry
38 Posted 06/05/2025 at 21:18:16
Astonishing save Dave Lawson
Paul Hewitt
39 Posted 06/05/2025 at 21:19:08
Not a great save. The player hit the ball straight at the keeper. I'd have saved that
Jeff Armstrong
40 Posted 06/05/2025 at 21:19:47
What a tie this is
Liam Mogan
41 Posted 06/05/2025 at 21:19:54
Didn't save that one though!
Michael Kenrick
42 Posted 06/05/2025 at 21:20:00
That was easy!
Mike Gaynes
43 Posted 06/05/2025 at 21:20:21
Wow, all square
Robert Tressell
44 Posted 06/05/2025 at 21:20:22
What a game!
Liam Mogan
45 Posted 06/05/2025 at 21:20:56
Enjoy this lads as anything could happen!
Paul Hewitt
46 Posted 06/05/2025 at 21:21:03
Come on inter.
Ryan Holroyd
47 Posted 06/05/2025 at 21:21:13
Booommmm Barca
Mike Gaynes
48 Posted 06/05/2025 at 21:21:19
Every Barca game has been like this recently. Extraordinary drama.
Jeff Armstrong
49 Posted 06/05/2025 at 21:21:23
Barca now favourites?
Bill Gall
50 Posted 06/05/2025 at 21:21:49
My My 2--2 must be nice if you can watch this football every week
Liam Mogan
51 Posted 06/05/2025 at 21:22:36
Inter will be gutted at letting in a free header (in at least 5 yards of space) like that
Paul Hewitt
52 Posted 06/05/2025 at 21:23:39
Come on Bill. It's was 2-2 for Everton on Saturday
Jeff Armstrong
53 Posted 06/05/2025 at 21:24:09
Wasn’t that easy, the cross was brilliant, Olmo holds his run very well too.
Paul Hewitt
54 Posted 06/05/2025 at 21:28:56
Football is only difficult if you make it difficult. Good team like Barcelona pass quickly and into a man in space, then move into space themselves. It's not difficult unless you play for Everton
Rob Halligan
55 Posted 06/05/2025 at 21:29:10
Penalty all day long.
Paul Ferry
56 Posted 06/05/2025 at 21:29:11
What you think Rob?
Mike Gaynes
57 Posted 06/05/2025 at 21:29:34
Outside by an inch.
Ryan Holroyd
58 Posted 06/05/2025 at 21:29:47
Barca absolutely cheated tonight
Liam Mogan
59 Posted 06/05/2025 at 21:30:01
Outside the box
Rob Halligan
60 Posted 06/05/2025 at 21:30:15
Brought him down in the penalty area. Should have been a penalty
Mike Gaynes
61 Posted 06/05/2025 at 21:30:30
Hit his own man.
Jeff Armstrong
62 Posted 06/05/2025 at 21:30:58
Foul starts an inch outside but continues inside, pen.

That’s the rule I believe.

Liam Mogan
63 Posted 06/05/2025 at 21:32:00
Football is a simple game, but is incredibly difficult. That's why hardly anyone can play attacking football like Barca.
Ryan Holroyd
64 Posted 06/05/2025 at 21:32:21
That’s how I see it too Jeff
Jeff Armstrong
65 Posted 06/05/2025 at 21:37:28
Just seems a matter of time before Barca’s winner.
Game of two halves.
Mike Gaynes
66 Posted 06/05/2025 at 21:37:58
Another ridiculous save. Sommer's having a career night.
Liam Mogan
67 Posted 06/05/2025 at 21:38:28
For all Inter were brilliant in the first half, in the second they resemble Everton against Soton away just before Xmas.
Paul Hewitt
68 Posted 06/05/2025 at 21:38:46
Inter still win this.
Rob Halligan
69 Posted 06/05/2025 at 21:38:51
Is right Jeff. There may have been contact outside the area, but Yamal didn’t go down. He only went down when there was further contact inside the area. Barca are being cheated here.
Liam Mogan
70 Posted 06/05/2025 at 21:42:07
Could still go either way
Jeff Armstrong
71 Posted 06/05/2025 at 21:44:28
Hewey would’ve saved that one too Mike!
Mike Gaynes
72 Posted 06/05/2025 at 21:47:50
BARCAAAAAAA!!!!!!!
Paul Hewitt
73 Posted 06/05/2025 at 21:48:26
Well it's not just us that's let 2 goal leads slip.
Liam Mogan
74 Posted 06/05/2025 at 21:49:01
Unbelievable, Jeff
Liam Mogan
75 Posted 06/05/2025 at 21:53:11
Oh. My. Word.
Mike Gaynes
76 Posted 06/05/2025 at 21:53:39
Lord a mighty.
Jeff Armstrong
77 Posted 06/05/2025 at 21:53:54
Wtf
Robert Tressell
78 Posted 06/05/2025 at 21:54:52
Best match I’ve seen in years this! Absolutely sensational game
Liam Mogan
79 Posted 06/05/2025 at 21:56:28
Best match I've seen since the match last week 😅
Mike Gaynes
80 Posted 06/05/2025 at 21:56:40
Can you imagine being there????
Liam Mogan

Tarks in the Derby x10
Kieran Kinsella
82 Posted 06/05/2025 at 21:58:45
Inzaghi on the phone with his brother:

"Fillipo remember that time when you were 2-0 up in a Champions league semi at home and the your team screwed it all up and you went down 2-3 v Man Utd? Same shit just happened to me. But I have a cunning plan."

Chris Leyland
83 Posted 06/05/2025 at 21:59:03
Michael Keane style finish from the centre back
Paul Hewitt
84 Posted 06/05/2025 at 22:00:22
Bloody hell I've turned it off and gone bed. Thought Barcelona would win.
Mike Gaynes
85 Posted 06/05/2025 at 22:03:08
Think they still will, PH, but you gotta stay up.
Colin Glassar
86 Posted 06/05/2025 at 22:03:53
A game(s) for the ages, Paul. Barca slowed the game down and paid the price. I told my son before kick off that this would end up 4-3. I should’ve placed a bet on it
Liam Mogan
87 Posted 06/05/2025 at 22:08:27
Inzaghi has aged that much during the game he's starting to look like Bob Mortimer
Liam Mogan
88 Posted 06/05/2025 at 22:10:08
Fackin Hell, what a game
Mike Gaynes
89 Posted 06/05/2025 at 22:10:39
INSANE GAME
Paul Ferry
90 Posted 06/05/2025 at 22:10:54
