Woltemade is in the Germany team about to play Portugal in the Nations League semi-final, so I’ll keep an eye on him.

Just watching the game Rob.

Woltemade is absolutely massive!

Ta Rob. Final's live on ITV Sunday 8:00 pm.

I hope the krauts don't win. Can't wait… 😀

Woltemade will go to a Champions League club.
Rob Halligan
5 Posted 04/06/2025 at 20:31:33
His first real chance, and probably should have scored, bringing a comfortable save out the Portuguese keeper.
Liam Mogan
6 Posted 04/06/2025 at 20:39:30
Portugal have some wonderful young players, especially in midfield.

Then they have 40-year-old CR7 up front doing his best Brian Glover in Kes impression.

Rob Halligan
7 Posted 04/06/2025 at 21:13:06
Well, on that first half showing, I'll be surprised if Woltemade appears for the second half.
Liam Mogan
8 Posted 04/06/2025 at 21:13:42
He didn't look great, Rob.
Rob Halligan
9 Posted 04/06/2025 at 21:22:05
That RS wannabe scores, and after the quickest VAR check ever at the pitch side screen, the goal stands. I thought Woltemade was offside and also prevented Dias from getting the ball, but goal given.
Liam Mogan
10 Posted 04/06/2025 at 21:26:02
I agree Rob. He was offside and interefered.

Is it just me or does this 6 6in giant not want to challenge for a ball in the air?

Rob Halligan
11 Posted 04/06/2025 at 21:34:13
Woltemade lasted an hour before being dragged off.

Doesn't seem to be anything special about him. So, if he wants to join a Champions League club, then they're welcome to him.

Rob Halligan
12 Posted 04/06/2025 at 21:34:58
Great equaliser. I think Portugal will go on and win this because Germany look very poor.
Liam Mogan
13 Posted 04/06/2025 at 21:35:50
Great goal from Portugal. Deserved. If they'd not had Ronaldo waddling around getting in the way, they'd be well ahead.

No doubt he'll get the winner 🤣

Rob Halligan
14 Posted 04/06/2025 at 21:37:21
There you go Liam! 😁😁
Rob Halligan
15 Posted 04/06/2025 at 21:37:55
Looks offside though.
Liam Mogan
16 Posted 04/06/2025 at 21:38:44
He was offside. Where's the VAR??
Rob Halligan
17 Posted 04/06/2025 at 21:39:10
Looked well offside.
Rob Halligan
18 Posted 04/06/2025 at 21:56:54
Handbags after a little confrontation between Bernardo Silva and Wirtz. Fullkrug looks a mean fucker though, and Bruno Fernandes seemed to be a little worried when Fullkrug had words with him! 😁😁
Liam Mogan
19 Posted 04/06/2025 at 21:58:06
Julian Naglesmann, the Germany coach, looks like he's been at the same pie-eating competition as Charlie Adam.
Michael Kenrick

What's this — PPV on Amazon?

I thought we were already paying?

Rob Halligan
21 Posted 04/06/2025 at 22:01:29
Going into added on time, and I can’t see Germany equalising, so I wouldn’t bother Michael.
Rob Halligan
22 Posted 04/06/2025 at 22:06:13
Finished 2-1 to Portugal.

Germany looked really poor and on this showing they can forget the World Cup next year.

Liam Mogan
23 Posted 04/06/2025 at 22:06:40
Decent game though.
Paul Kossoff
24 Posted 04/06/2025 at 22:31:57
Well done, Ronnie Ranaldo, the Krauts didn't win.

Sly he say Yo!!!😀

Paul Kossoff
25 Posted 04/06/2025 at 22:47:15
I think the Germans were put off because the German chancellor has been arrested for indecent exposure.

I'm not sure of the spelling but I think he's called Helmut shown...😀

I missed this one. I said on another thread, Germany are in transition, but they have a habit of coming back.

Four times World Cup winners, 3 times European Championship winners.

England still dine off 1966 and a few near misses.

France v Spain should be an entertaining one this evening. I'll watch that one.

Colin Crooks
27 Posted 05/06/2025 at 08:41:24
Germans won one World Cup and zero European Cchampioships in 29 years.

That's some transition.

Back to your initial post Rob, I have 2 observations after watching the game.

1. If Liverpool want to spend pds100mil on Wirtz then let them waste their money, cos IMO he's not even worth 30mil.

2. I hope we stay clear of Waltemade because he looks like an extremely lazy version of Beto. So, sooner keep Beto.

Glad Portugal won because they were the most inventive team.

Tom Bowers
29 Posted 05/06/2025 at 13:15:37
Wirtz is one dirty S.O.B. and RS can have him.
He is a clone of Tommy Smith and a lot more.
Robert Tressell
30 Posted 05/06/2025 at 13:19:47
Bob, I agree on your first point. I don’t think Woltemade is at all well suited to being our new number 9. Wirtz though is a superb player. I would take him all day long if we had the money

Excellent end to end game in second semi, Spain v France.

Some attacking talent on display

Liam Mogan
32 Posted 05/06/2025 at 20:26:57
Spain 2 up.

Brilliantly worked goals

Rob Halligan
33 Posted 05/06/2025 at 20:30:51
Spain looking good, Liam.
Michael Kenrick
34 Posted 05/06/2025 at 20:38:25
Did you pay extra for it, Liam?

Or is there a secret link?

Liam Mogan
35 Posted 05/06/2025 at 20:46:04
Someone else paid for it MK
Rob Halligan
36 Posted 05/06/2025 at 20:47:58
Well worked third goal for Spain, but just offside. Good finish by Huijsen though.
Rob Halligan
37 Posted 05/06/2025 at 21:13:37
Spain penalty…….and 3-0, scored by Yamal.…game over.
Liam Mogan
38 Posted 05/06/2025 at 21:15:15
France actually started well Rob, but once Spain scored they haven't been in it.

Now it's 4 - destroyed.

Rob Halligan
39 Posted 05/06/2025 at 21:16:18
Spain ripping France apart. A brilliantly worked fourth goal, scored by Pedri.
Rob Halligan
40 Posted 05/06/2025 at 21:17:50
We’ll have the Mbappe tears next! 😂😂
Rob Halligan
41 Posted 05/06/2025 at 21:20:07
Spain can have no complaints about that penalty decision. Converted by Mbappe. Too little too late though.
Liam Mogan
42 Posted 05/06/2025 at 21:27:36
Its a joke that Yamal is only 17

5 - 1

Rob Halligan
43 Posted 05/06/2025 at 21:28:05
Definitely game over now. Yamal scores his second for 5-1.
Rob Halligan
44 Posted 05/06/2025 at 21:31:08
No doubt Chelsea or Man City will soon be sniffing around him, Liam, but I can’t ever see him leaving Barcelona. Plus I’m sure I read that there is a £340M buy out clause written into his contract, so I think he’s at Barcelona for life!
Liam Mogan
45 Posted 05/06/2025 at 21:39:22
Super goal from Cherki. He's looked good since he came on
Rob Halligan
46 Posted 05/06/2025 at 21:39:48
Best goal of the night.
Liam Mogan
47 Posted 05/06/2025 at 21:43:57
5 - 3!

Game on!

Rob Halligan
48 Posted 05/06/2025 at 21:44:25
They couldn’t, could they? 5-3.
Liam Mogan
49 Posted 05/06/2025 at 21:54:32
5 - 4 WTH
Liam Mogan
50 Posted 05/06/2025 at 21:56:53
Crazy game. Finished 5 - 4.

Spain better side by far but France could actually have scored 8!

Rob Halligan
51 Posted 05/06/2025 at 21:57:10
Unbelievable game.

Deffo, Liam. Unai Simon in the Spain goal made several good saves.

Nobody else been watching this? Missed a cracker if they haven’t. Probably still arguing over whether we should sign Grealish or not? 😁😁😁

Paul Kossoff
52 Posted 05/06/2025 at 23:00:17
Thank fk no sourkrout or onion eaters, just plenty of paella, gazpacho, tortilla de patatas, croquetas, and tapas. no, I aint a racist. 😀 Ps, no Rob we shouldn't, you started it!😀
Bob Parrington
53 Posted 06/06/2025 at 06:29:22
Having watched the game between Spain and France, I think we should sign Jamal. Ha! Ha! Start the bidding at pds 500mil. Jees, what a talent!
Well done France for the comeback but Spain deserved the win overall.
Bob Parrington
54 Posted 06/06/2025 at 06:43:27
Paul, How can you be a food racist? I do all the cooking at home and I would therefore be a food multiracial, cos I do Brit, Aus, Italian, Spanish, Moroccan, French, Greek, Indian, Sri Lankan, German, Austrian, Thai, Vietnamese, Mexican etc. Not all on the same day, of course 😏😇🥂🍷 Ha! Ha!
Danny O'Neill
55 Posted 06/06/2025 at 06:58:51
That Yamal is some player. It is telling that Barcelona didn't hang around with him in their B Team and got him straight into the first team squad.

Colin @27. Germany last won the World Cup 11 years ago. England? Their only one came nearly 60 years ago.

Colin Crooks
56 Posted 06/06/2025 at 08:05:05
Danny

Even though England are superior to Germany and have been for some time. You set a very low bar when you use them as a yardstick.

The Germans are no longer a power in in international Football. They had their day when Mechanical football ruled. Having quite possibly the greatest one touch finisher the game has ever seen helped, of course, but the game has moved on. The cream generally rises to the top these days.

While the REAL focus in England is on club football -Despite what you hear from the England fans in Stoney Stratford, Rutland and the rest of middle England. This is where England absolutely Muller's (no pun intended) It's German counterparts.

There is an awful lot to learn from other nations around the world at the moment. But nobody will learn anything from this current German generation
