Martin Farrington 2 Posted 27/09/2025 at 12:53:40 Mancs getting whacked at the hives. 2-0 at 20 mins. Btw anyone else got problems getting onto ToffeeWeb? The derby it just would not work. Now it's slow. No problems with any other sites or apps. Martin Farrington 3 Posted 27/09/2025 at 12:59:52 Utd scored. Proper scruffy but they all count. 2-1More to come methinks Michael Kenrick 4 Posted 27/09/2025 at 12:59:57 The server does seem to go through sluggish phases, Martin. If I knew more about Google Analytics, I might be able to figure out what is happening. But shockingly, we don't seem to have any technical support from the new owners at weekends! Maybe I'll ask my new friend, Gemini... Tony Abrahams 5 Posted 27/09/2025 at 13:03:36 I just hope they're paying you at least time and a half for all the great work you do to keep this website interesting every weekend, Michael.🤞 Martin Farrington 6 Posted 27/09/2025 at 13:04:35 Is she fit ???I was gutted about the derby and ToffeeWeb failing. But I appreciate you have your work cut out and put in so much time. I live in Spain. Don't know if that's a factor. How can a football site not have support at a weekend that's just nuts... can we storm their cloud? Danny O'Neill 7 Posted 27/09/2025 at 13:13:47 Firstly, I'll echo the sentiments. Thank you for being the engine room behind ToffeeWeb.Brentford cruising and easily have had a 3rd. Now cruising and Man Utd now in control. Michael Kenrick 8 Posted 27/09/2025 at 13:24:20 Hello Danny, hope you are well. Sorry, I never did get to see your derby match report. Not that you could do much to reverse the negative vibes that resulted. You should be able to just post it as any article submission. I emailed you but it bounced back. Michael Kenrick 9 Posted 27/09/2025 at 13:33:40 If there really was this 'Big Club' conspiracy that we hear of so often, surely the VAR man could have pressed his 'pass' button just one or two frames later and the semi-automated offside call would have ruled out Brentford's first goal? Rob Halligan 10 Posted 27/09/2025 at 13:48:14 Every free-kick conceded by Man Utd is contested by Fernandes. Deserved yellow card finally flashed in his rat-looking face, either for the foul committed by him, or for one protest too many. Rob Halligan 11 Posted 27/09/2025 at 14:07:24 Hahaha……Fernandes now misses a penalty. Good save by the ex RS keeper. Les Callan 12 Posted 27/09/2025 at 14:10:32 That was a red card. Denying goal scoring opportunity. Kevin Molloy 13 Posted 27/09/2025 at 14:16:18 I detest VAR on general principle, but in terms of it's impact or bias, surely there are stats already out there to show if it favours the Big Six?I've just had a quick look, and no discernible bias. But the stats are difficult to tabulate, for instance if Liverpool get their fifth goal disallowed unfairly, that's hardly the same as us having a last-minute winner chalked off. I'm not sure how they weigh the significance of the individual interventions. Rob Halligan 14 Posted 27/09/2025 at 14:27:24 3-1. Game over. Michael Kenrick 15 Posted 27/09/2025 at 14:27:30 Absolutely fabulous strike at the end from Jensen to bury the Mancs. Danny O'Neill 16 Posted 27/09/2025 at 14:29:23 Very good performance from Brentford and deserved win.I wonder if Amorin has Potter on speed dial? Tommy Carter 17 Posted 27/09/2025 at 14:31:20 Brentford are shaping up okay, Sunderland and Leeds already have points on board and look like they could gather the same throughout the course of the season. West Ham will improve under Nuno. Interesting season this one, I think, and I don't expect to see the 3 promoted teams go back down. I think there is room for a giant to fall this season so it's imperative that we look after ourselves... starting with a win on Monday night! Martin Farrington 18 Posted 27/09/2025 at 14:33:23 Jenny's lad scores their 3rd.If that wasn't a goalscoring oppo and a red then there must be no more reds forever, or VAR have plummeted the depths of useless even further.Ratty Fernandes... lol. Great to see one of the Big Six getting some. Dave Abrahams 19 Posted 27/09/2025 at 14:35:48 West Ham have made the appointment that Everton will regret they never made. Jim Bennings 20 Posted 27/09/2025 at 14:38:34 I think it looks like being a more competitive Premier League this season.Burnley and Wolves will struggle but I can't seen either being as bad as the likes of Southampton were or Luton previously. Danny O'Neill 21 Posted 27/09/2025 at 14:44:20 I said elsewhere Tommy, I think Leeds and Wolves will be okay. And if the worse happens, as clubs, I'm sure they have built the possibility of going down into their budgets. Tommy Carter 22 Posted 27/09/2025 at 14:50:17 @19 DaveThomas Frank we shouldve got. Im not convinced Nuno would be a good fit for us. Glasner and Iraola are two excellent managers who would join Everton if we were to approach them and pay them. Dave Abrahams 23 Posted 27/09/2025 at 15:35:50 Tommy (19) Yes I like Thomas Frank and Iraola but Nuno is a good manager and there was no compensation to pay, now Davie will have to plays cards right, Everton might not be too slow next time.j Ryan Holroyd 24 Posted 27/09/2025 at 15:42:09 ‘ Glasner and Iraola are two excellent managers who would join Everton if we were to approach them and pay themBoth have bigger fish to fry than a club like Everton who have been in the bottom half the league most of the past 30 years Danny O'Neill 25 Posted 27/09/2025 at 15:42:50 We wouldn't have got near Thomas Frank Tommy. Ryan Holroyd 26 Posted 27/09/2025 at 15:44:47 Im having a nice break in Essaouira and Agadir and see most of you are as deluded as ever Add Your Comments In order to post a comment, you need to be logged in as a registered user of the site. » Log in now Or Sign up as a ToffeeWeb Member — it's free, takes just a few minutes and will allow you to post your comments on articles and Talking Points submissions across the site.
