But it means 7 out of 10 games this weekend are live on Sky channels: Friday 15 August 202520:00 Liverpool 4 - 2 Bournemouth — Sky Sports Saturday 16 August 202512:30 Aston Villa 0 - 0 Newcastle United — TNT Sports 1 15:00 Brighton 1 - 1 Fulham15:00 Tottenham Hotspur 3 - 0 Burnley15:00 Sunderland 3 - 0 West Ham Utd 17:30 Wolves v Manchester City — Sky Sports Sunday 17 August 202514:00 Chelsea v Crystal Palace — Sky Sports 14:00 Nottingham Forest v Brentford — Sky Sports 16:30 Manchester United v Arsenal — Sky Sports Monday 18 August 202520:00 Leeds United v Everton — Sky Sports Live Forum Everton 2025-26 season preview at The Athletic [£] Reader Comments (139) Note: the following content is not moderated or vetted by the site owners at the time of submission. Disclaimer () Lee Courtliff 1 Posted 15/08/2025 at 09:55:38 I've just read some comments from Bournemouth fans, none of them seemed to be a worried about the players they've lost as everyone in the media is making out. They've sold 3 of their starting back 4 from last season, but they seemed very confident in the management of the club to have replaced them with equal quality. I'm not myself as I've very little knowledge of their new signings, but it seems like a lot to change in one summer and they start their season away at Them tonight!I hope they get a result tonight, obviously, but I don't overly like Bournemouth due to some of their fans. One of them referred to us as a "nothing club"...and they've never won a major trophy in their entire history. Hope they go down, tbh. Rob Halligan 2 Posted 15/08/2025 at 12:19:27 So do I Lee, as its too bloody far to travel! 😄😄 Raymond Fox 3 Posted 15/08/2025 at 12:20:52 They are making Leeds favourite, 6/4 Leeds 2/1 Everton 9/4 draw which home advantage is the difference really. It was always going to be a tough ask with it being their first home game in front of their barmy supporters. Who knows what will happen, we are weakened by injuries but much strengthened by Dewsbury-Hall & Grealish in particular.I think those two are going to be huge for us if they can stay fit.The betting is about right I'd say but let's face it, it's impossible to call. Jay Harris 4 Posted 15/08/2025 at 18:17:59 Leeds leak goals like a sieve so I hope we can improve our conversion rate as even with Myko fit our defense has looked suspect. Mike Gaynes 5 Posted 15/08/2025 at 18:25:20 Lee, I have a lot of respect for Bournemouth. 115 years to make it into the Prem, zero tradition, twice into administration, far from any urban center and not much economic base, yet they've stayed up and built a sustainable business model. Tom Bowers 6 Posted 15/08/2025 at 18:25:36 Hopefully this game doesn't become a showpiece for the Leeds new lads especiallyDCL.It would just be like Everton to fall victim to that scenario especially with Branthwaite missing.Moyes really has to have a solid plan to deal with the intensity Leeds will have. Rob Halligan 7 Posted 15/08/2025 at 21:03:48 RS fans showing their true colours once again, as a racist comment is aimed at Semenyo, causing a brief pause in the game. Brent Stephens 8 Posted 15/08/2025 at 21:07:30 Also noted on the Live Forum, Rob! Colin Glassar 9 Posted 15/08/2025 at 21:14:39 I cant see anyone stopping the rs from repeating their title defence this season. Makes me sick Liam Mogan 10 Posted 15/08/2025 at 21:18:25 Unfortunately the RS have goals in their team and even when not playing well can score at any moment. Almost the complete opposite of us. Liam Mogan 11 Posted 15/08/2025 at 21:20:25 I thought Sly Stone passed away a few months ago but he appears to be playing RB for the sons of Satan Colin Glassar 12 Posted 15/08/2025 at 21:28:19 The Live Forum is lively tonight. Kieran Kinsella 13 Posted 15/08/2025 at 21:29:10 Klopp is on these Trivago adds here in the USA as I speak and I guarantee 99 percent of people have no idea who he is Kieran Kinsella 14 Posted 15/08/2025 at 21:31:24 ColinI dont the RS will win this year. Theyve held into Salah and VVD too long. Not convinced by the newbies despite early success. I reckon Chelsea or City Liam Mogan 15 Posted 15/08/2025 at 21:33:19 Trivago Turkey Teeth Kieran Kinsella 16 Posted 15/08/2025 at 21:33:41 Their new striker is as behind Moise Kean at PSG and Wurtz 130 million for what? A poor mans Pierre Litbarski. Remember how poorly they ended the season Colin Glassar 17 Posted 15/08/2025 at 21:36:12 Maybe, Kieran. They still have the refs and media on their side though.Any chance of us getting Iraola next season as our manager?Get innnnnnnn!!!! Liam Mogan 18 Posted 15/08/2025 at 21:37:36 What a goal Paul Smith 19 Posted 15/08/2025 at 21:37:46 What a player that Semenyo is!! Ernie Baywood 20 Posted 15/08/2025 at 21:37:52 2-1 up and they've got everyone forward? Madness Liam Mogan 21 Posted 15/08/2025 at 21:39:42 I've been watching this gsme thinking 'the RS are all over the place defensively'. And Bournemouth have proved it.They can still score at any moment though. The twats. Liam Mogan 22 Posted 15/08/2025 at 21:41:19 Looks like a season too far for Virgil Venereal Disease Tony Abrahams 23 Posted 15/08/2025 at 21:42:22 I watched the second half of the charity shield, Kieran, and my overall impression was that Liverpool, are very good if you play an open game, but are not so good when you close the space and keep them playing in front of you?Very fast on the counter attack, but they are also exposed to this tactic because they play such a high line, and they are also a team that Im sure can be bullied.Even Slott has alluded to this by saying that he thinks they are the most honest team in the league🤦♂️ as-fucking-if🤷♂️ Nick Page 24 Posted 15/08/2025 at 21:42:33 What Lee says at #1Clubs at this level are expected to have a plan. The plan is long dated - we lose this player we bid for these players.Everton havent had any long term/transitional planning forever. Oliver Molloy 25 Posted 15/08/2025 at 21:43:18 Iraola is doing some job at Bournemouth, I was really surprised Spurs never went after him Liam Mogan 26 Posted 15/08/2025 at 21:49:38 In league with the devil Simon Dalzell 27 Posted 15/08/2025 at 21:50:18 Regardless of this Fluke. No way this Shambolic outfit will win the League Edward Rogers 28 Posted 15/08/2025 at 21:51:10 They must definitely sacrifice their "first born" Kevin Molloy 29 Posted 15/08/2025 at 21:51:37 a last minute winner? for Liverpool? with their reputation? Liam Mogan 30 Posted 15/08/2025 at 21:52:02 Rosemary's Baby bastards Andrew McLawrence 31 Posted 15/08/2025 at 21:56:52 10pm on a Friday night and I'm sick of those fetid red feckers already Edward Rogers 32 Posted 15/08/2025 at 21:56:57 Maybe the Premier League should check them for three sixes the sign of the beast. Liam Mogan 33 Posted 15/08/2025 at 21:58:28 They are that evil they have 4 sixes Paul Hewitt 34 Posted 15/08/2025 at 21:58:49 Why anyone would watch the shower of shite. I don't understand?. Paul Hewitt 35 Posted 15/08/2025 at 22:00:43 Anyway Wigan got beat in rugby. That's all that matters. David Bromwell 36 Posted 15/08/2025 at 22:02:41 Paul 35, intensity, speed and strikers. And Bournemouth were very good too. Svein-Roger Jensen 37 Posted 15/08/2025 at 22:04:23 Puking time Ian Bennett 38 Posted 15/08/2025 at 22:05:47 Semenyo looked a handful, not just the goal. He roughed up kirkez, and had the beating of him.Bournemouth looked poor at the back. Keeper was no where near the goals. Difficult opening gane with 4 of last years back 5 missing. Jay Harris 39 Posted 15/08/2025 at 22:07:01 So the media darlings scrape another jammy win. Bournemouth deserved at least a draw but as usual their intimidation of the media, the officials and the opposition gives them the there points. Tony Abrahams 40 Posted 15/08/2025 at 22:07:41 I watched them last week because I wanted to judge them for myself Paul, and without watching them tonight, I was actually beginning to think I had helped to jinx them, (something Id written on another thread) until I suddenly saw “in league with the devil”, suddenly pop up from Liam.Any team with goals in them will win a lot more than they lose, so Im just hoping that Liverpool end up coming up a little bit short defensively🤞 Dave Abrahams 41 Posted 15/08/2025 at 22:09:38 David (37) Bournemouth had them on the rack at 2-1 and deserved a draw at least but THEY never stop playing and got two late goals at the time when it was anybodys game.Van Dijk was past his best last season so another year older isnt going to help him or Liverpool. Paul Hewitt 42 Posted 15/08/2025 at 22:11:03 Jay, what rubbish. There simply a better team than most in this league. Scott Hamilton 43 Posted 15/08/2025 at 22:20:30 They should be sponsored by Tampax. Jammy c***s. Si Cooper 44 Posted 15/08/2025 at 22:31:42 Salah, unfortunately, looks as good as ever. Made a goal for himself by being prepared to chase a punted ball to no-one in particular well into added time.Van Dyke is definitely on the wane. Ernie Baywood 45 Posted 15/08/2025 at 22:35:00 I never watch that lot. This was a 5am kickoff so I had no intention of seeing any of it. But I woke up and, against my better judgement, turned it on. This has served as a reminder of why I shouldn't watch them. Nick Page 46 Posted 15/08/2025 at 22:47:13 Yet, Oliver Paul Kossoff 47 Posted 15/08/2025 at 22:50:22 Scott 44. Apparently the red sh*te are having Hartley's sponsor their fkg breakfast's. Nick Page 48 Posted 15/08/2025 at 22:56:08 What happens when you make a deal with the devil. Sloth will ruin Klopps team (I hated that gonshite but only cos he was good) but theyll somehow get lucky like they always do. Rushie and Kenny at brainwashing. Chief hires. Absolutely fucking horriblist shower of dirty cheating lying shithouses in world sport ever. Vile. Danny O'Neill 49 Posted 16/08/2025 at 07:37:41 Bournemouth made a fist of it and were worthy of a point, but then the inevitable happened.Liverpool looked less than convincing at the back, but applied one of the basic principles of football. Stating the obvious, but if the opposition score, go and score more than them. Liam Mogan 50 Posted 16/08/2025 at 07:59:33 Despite the usual help from the three Macbeth witches around the cauldron at the death, I'm glad I watched the game. The RS will concede goals this year, especially against teams with pace down the flanks. Bournemouth were poor at the back and made mistakes for nearly all the goals. They missed the calm presence of the lad who has gone to Madrid. Their new CB, Diakité, who they paid Lille around £30M for, looked like a rabbit in the headlights. With a bit more nous at the back, they'd have at least got a point.Managers will be watching that game (and last week) and creating tactics to exploit the RS weaknesses. Alan McGuffog 52 Posted 16/08/2025 at 12:04:51 Has anyone identified the racist Everton fan who was wearing a RS top and had borrowed a wheelchair. ? Michael Kenrick 53 Posted 16/08/2025 at 13:15:52 Villa vs Barcodes, maybe it's endemic but the number of simple mistakes, poor passes, wayward shots, and generally shite football in this first half belies the "fantastic Premier League season" hype somewhat. Early season cobwebs?Maybe I'm just too critical, need to work on my mental attitude, learn to appreciate the subtle skills on show, and the tremendous lives of dedicated effort and untold sacrifice these instant multi-millionaires have suffered?Nah... Alan J Thompson 54 Posted 16/08/2025 at 13:23:33 Just watched the first half of the Villa-Newcastle game and what an awful game of football. Villa seem to be relying on long balls down the channel to Watkins while at best Newcastle seem to have little more than get wide and cross. The only thing to learn from the game so far is that goal kicks to somebody standing next to you in the 6-yard box is an utter waste of time and ends up with somebody wellying it long under pressure which could have been done more accurately in the first place. Dale Self 55 Posted 16/08/2025 at 13:34:10 Gordon at the 10 looks like it isn't going to work. Onana was largely anonymous. The all out press is no longer used. Also, Villa looks to be really slowing it down to almost intternational mode. That's all I learned from that. Michael Kenrick 56 Posted 16/08/2025 at 13:55:20 Probably good that they give a red card for that. Even if Gordon was as weak as piss and collapsed like a Nottinghamshire cooling tower. Brent Stephens 57 Posted 16/08/2025 at 14:57:21 Any links to live football streams for today's 3.00 kick offs?? Bill Gall 58 Posted 16/08/2025 at 15:12:49 Richie scores first for Spurs Liam Mogan 59 Posted 16/08/2025 at 15:14:13 Good finish Ian Bennett 60 Posted 16/08/2025 at 15:22:47 Meant to have played well vs PSG. Amazing what happens when you get minutes and faith. Eric Myles 61 Posted 16/08/2025 at 16:04:13 MK #57, I thought it was poor given Gordon's propensity for falling down. A mate I was watching it with is of the "it's a foul so he's entitled to" opinion but I reminded him of the '60s and '70s when the striker would have shrugged it off and went on to score. How the game has changed.I just hope it sets a consistent precedent and any such contact results in a red card. I won't hold my breath. Michael Kenrick 62 Posted 16/08/2025 at 16:11:33 Yea, exactly, Eric. These days, it's the consistency — or lack of it — that is the big issue. And this time-wasting bollocks. Let's give the VAR just 8 seconds to make their call, eh? Not gonna happen. Colin Glassar 63 Posted 16/08/2025 at 16:19:19 Richy on fire. Two worldies. Bill Gall 64 Posted 16/08/2025 at 16:19:48 What a goal from Richarlison!!! Kevin Naylor 65 Posted 16/08/2025 at 16:19:54 Silencing the doubters. Scott Hamilton 66 Posted 16/08/2025 at 16:22:53 Wouldve loved to see him back in a blue shirt.Good luck to him at Spurs. Maybe this will be his season to push on, stay fit and score a shedfull. Kevin Molloy 67 Posted 16/08/2025 at 16:22:55 I fear West Hams brave experiment with the Premier League may be drawing to a close. Claret and Booze may be forced to turn (again) on the manager. Kevin Naylor 68 Posted 16/08/2025 at 16:25:44 Burnley be looking to bring Dyche back soon Colin Glassar 69 Posted 16/08/2025 at 16:28:08 Some of these Burnley players are quite skilful. Dyche would hate them. Grant Rorrison 70 Posted 16/08/2025 at 16:32:43 West Ham will either get rid of Potter pretty soon or get relegated. He must be one of the most over-rated managers in football. Yet, there are plenty like him that people would have here over someone like Moyes. Strange. Colin Glassar 71 Posted 16/08/2025 at 16:36:09 WHU used to be everyone's favourite second team in the days of Moore, Brooking, Devonshire, Martin etc… Since the spivs took over, and they moved to their soulless stadium, they are not what they were. Alan J Thompson 72 Posted 16/08/2025 at 16:38:19 Kieran(#13); Trivago with that lot are a good fit as Trivago were fined for showing the hotels that paid them the most commission rather than the cheapest. Jack Convery 73 Posted 16/08/2025 at 16:47:35 Richy : what a start for him. Two goals and MOTM. Jay Harris 74 Posted 16/08/2025 at 16:50:05 Best not to mention Villa v Newcastle- dreadful game and I thought our passing was poor till I watched this. Also watched Spurs last 2 games. Richy back to his best. Scored an absolute belter for his second today. Christy Ring 75 Posted 16/08/2025 at 16:51:32 Richi's 2nd goal already goal of the season contender. Potter happy with his hammer buys, 3-0 Sunderland, could be first casualty of the season. Michael Kenrick 76 Posted 16/08/2025 at 16:52:46 Sunderland 3 - 0 West Ham UtdA lively start for the Black Cats, blowing the bubbles away. Kunal Desai 77 Posted 16/08/2025 at 16:54:15 I think Potter will be sacked inside the next 8-10 games. Liam Mogan 78 Posted 16/08/2025 at 16:55:26 They've had a proper go today, have Sunderland.West Ham look awful.Fulham equalised in 96th min Mike Gaynes 79 Posted 16/08/2025 at 16:56:17 Brighton couldn't clear a routine corner and blew the win. Dave Abrahams 80 Posted 16/08/2025 at 16:57:09 Colin (71) That was because West Ham were noted for playing good attacking football Colin in those days which is always appreciated by football fans all over the world. Heres a bit of useless information that has stuck with me since those days—— when West Ham won the FA Cup in 1964 they had seven players whose name began with the letter “ B” Bond, Burkett, Bovington, Brown, Brabrook, Boyce and Byrne. Not sure if it was the same season that West Ham knocked Everton out of the cup with a Johnny Byrne penalty, might have been a year later. Conor McCourt 81 Posted 16/08/2025 at 16:57:52 Good news..no Savinho in line up for City. I was afraid that Spurs at the last minute could nab Dibling. Only really Brentford or Wolves could afford him now of the teams that don't have their ducks in a row so wouldn't fancy them to splash out that much and wouldn't fear them even if they could.I am hoping no one comes in for him so Saints will have to drop their demands Stuart Sharp 82 Posted 16/08/2025 at 17:00:38 Sunderland have real pace. It makes all the difference, especially when most of your attacks are likely to be counters. Billy Shears 83 Posted 16/08/2025 at 17:04:40 Good day for the Mackems & the Spuds too...& Brighton throwing away their lead bodes well for us next weekend!Let's get off to a flier,eh lads on Monday night!!...COYB Ryan Holroyd 84 Posted 16/08/2025 at 17:04:50 We moan about our Moyes but thank goodness we dont have Potter. What a shite manager he is Kevin Molloy 85 Posted 16/08/2025 at 17:05:26 that's a nice little kick in the bollocks for Brighton before their trip oop North. Mike Gaynes 86 Posted 16/08/2025 at 17:14:17 Love that, Dave. Dibling back in training and may play tomorrow for Saints. Andy Crooks 87 Posted 16/08/2025 at 17:19:57 Used to be, Ryan, that Potter was the answer. He's not!!!! His luck has run out. Ian Bennett 88 Posted 16/08/2025 at 17:31:13 Always said Potter couldn't defend. Modern day Bobby brown shoes. Grant Rorrison 89 Posted 16/08/2025 at 17:48:10 Ian 88. Probably harsh on Martinez. At least he got to, and won, a cup final with Wigan and got to a couple of semi's in the same season here. Scott Hamilton 90 Posted 16/08/2025 at 17:59:39 Grant (89) - With the way we played in his first season, I got a few semis too TBF… Bill Gall 91 Posted 16/08/2025 at 18:01:44 Does anyone else get this Fubo from the USA? So far, after the last game, we have gotten 6 repeats from the other lot v Bournemouth, no explanation. Grant Rorrison 92 Posted 16/08/2025 at 18:11:11 Scott 90. lol Kieran Kinsella 93 Posted 16/08/2025 at 18:12:35 Reijnders putting on a master class for Man City. Ajay Gopal 94 Posted 16/08/2025 at 18:29:57 Isaac Price scores a brace for West Brom. Ian Jones 95 Posted 16/08/2025 at 18:32:25 Dave @80, yes, interesting bit of info about the 7 Bs at West Ham. We can potentially better that as some ToffeeWebbers probably think we have at least 11 players whose surname begins with S and ends in T. Colin Glassar 96 Posted 16/08/2025 at 18:38:28 Dave 80, they were always a good watch and Alf Garnett was their #1 fan. Danny O'Neill 97 Posted 16/08/2025 at 18:47:49 I've watched 2 matches today, different divisions.Wrexham v West Brom and currently have Wolves v Manchester City on.Both hosts playing their first home games of the season. The opposition rode the initial and inevitable storm, took the sting out of the game and took control of the game.Note to Everton for Monday. Paul Kossoff 98 Posted 16/08/2025 at 19:25:19 That Man City player Reijnders, his mom at the christening wanted to call him Rudolph but the priest told her to fuck off! Dave Abrahams 99 Posted 16/08/2025 at 19:36:49 Paul (98), Thats very funny but it wasnt a priest it was a city slicker! Dave Abrahams 100 Posted 16/08/2025 at 19:38:44 Ian (95),Very true — and that's when they are being polite! Paul Kossoff 101 Posted 16/08/2025 at 21:02:41 Nick 48. "Absolutely fucking horriblist shower of dirty cheating lying shithouses in world sport ever. Vile." So you ain't a big fan then? ps: I dare you to ring talk TalkSport when they are having a red love-in, and say that, Pleeeeease!!! Pleeeeeease!!!😁 Danny O'Neill 102 Posted 17/08/2025 at 10:10:42 On Potter, I mentioned this a couple of years back when there was talk on these pages of him being Everton manager. It just wasn't for me. Call it a hunch, but I saw a manager that was at a well run provincial club and the expectation was primarily remain in the Premier League and anything else was a bonus. I always thought that if and when he stepped onto a bigger stage, he wouldn't meet the expectation, which so far has been proven at Chelsea and, yes, West Ham. The latter may raise an eyebrow, but they are a big club. Not always successful, but over the years have prided themselves on their footballing pedigree and what we now call an academy. Their supporters don't take prisoners. Ask Allardyce and Moyes. Neither were popular. We may have been starved and deprived for decades, but Everton is a far bigger stage than Brighton and the supporters remain way more demanding.Rightly or wrongly, and maybe harsh, so feel free to shoot me down, but when his name was called on these pages, I instantly thought of Mike Walker, who came on the back of achieving great things at Norwich. Rob Halligan 103 Posted 17/08/2025 at 14:14:07 Wow, a screamer from Eze. Rob Halligan 104 Posted 17/08/2025 at 14:17:15 Disallowed. A Palace player was part of the Chelsea wall, and shoved a defender out of the way. As an attacker, you are not allowed to be part of a defensive wall. Think it's classed as offside. Liam Mogan 105 Posted 17/08/2025 at 14:17:38 I think thats a shocking decision to disallow that Eze free kick Ernie Baywood 106 Posted 17/08/2025 at 14:18:13 I called that straight away... Guehi was within a metre of the defensive wall when it was taken.Pretty silly from the Palace man. Andrew Ellams 107 Posted 17/08/2025 at 14:18:24 What is the point of watching Premier League football any more with that level of corruption? Peter Mitchell 108 Posted 17/08/2025 at 14:18:32 VAR check badge is back, I see! No way that would even have been looked at if it was the other way around. Liam Mogan 109 Posted 17/08/2025 at 14:19:30 Are you not allowed to be within a metre of the opposition wall, Ernie? I've never heard of that. Ernie Baywood 110 Posted 17/08/2025 at 14:21:17 Maybe, Peter, maybe. But the fact is that's 100% an indirect free kick for Chelsea. Palace have zero argument against it. It's a rule that they should all know and is very easy not to fall foul of. Rob Halligan 111 Posted 17/08/2025 at 14:21:56 I thought the rule was an attacker could not be part of a defensive wall, or stand in front of it, but they can stand alongside it. I dont think the distance makes any difference. Ernie Baywood 112 Posted 17/08/2025 at 14:23:00 I think it's been like that for a few years, Liam. Remember when attackers used to try to get in the wall? Rob Halligan 113 Posted 17/08/2025 at 14:24:01 In fact Id even say its a foul by Guehi. He literally shoved the Chelsea player to the floor when trying to create the gap in the wall. Definitely the right decision. Liam Mogan 114 Posted 17/08/2025 at 14:25:48 Is that a recent rule or a longstanding one?I seem to remember teams used to put me on the end of opposition walls? Was it to stop that? Liam Mogan 115 Posted 17/08/2025 at 14:26:51 Not 'me'...'one' ! Liam Mogan 116 Posted 17/08/2025 at 14:27:48 Cheers Ernie Rob Hooton 117 Posted 17/08/2025 at 14:35:43 If Palace can hold on to their players (and that's a big if), then they have a cracking team. They are playing some great stuffWhat a shame that anyone out of the Sky favourites need to sell their best players and can't then challenge the top teams. Michael Kenrick 118 Posted 17/08/2025 at 14:37:25 Clear defender arm contact changes direction of the ball away from attackers in scoring positions. No penalty. Even with VAR. "Would be given in Europe" What the Fuck???I don't understand this game anymore. Dale Self 119 Posted 17/08/2025 at 14:43:22 Will Hughes is underrated Michael Kenrick 120 Posted 17/08/2025 at 14:43:51 Great ball in from Gibbs-White, great header from Ndoye, Forest 2-0. Liam Mogan 121 Posted 17/08/2025 at 14:46:33 Rob 117, I was thinking the exact same thing.Palace build a team to challenge and go head-to-head with top teams, but will just have best players cherry-picked. Andrew Merrick 122 Posted 17/08/2025 at 14:46:42 Forest look much better than Brentford who seem to have lost some defensive shape and composure, and are struggling to get forward. Andrew Merrick 123 Posted 17/08/2025 at 14:48:50 Forest cruising 3 nil Liam Mogan 124 Posted 17/08/2025 at 14:49:21 Brentford look shot Rob Halligan 125 Posted 17/08/2025 at 14:55:49 Could be a real struggle for Brentford this season, and I'd even say their manager, Keith Andrews could be a leading contender for the first managerial sacking of the season. Never could understand why Brentford went for him, because as far as I know he's not been a manager anywhere else, though I could be wrong on that one. Colin Glassar 126 Posted 17/08/2025 at 14:56:49 Brentford along with WHU, Burnley, Leeds, Sunderland and, possibly, Wolves (in no particular order) will be my pick for bottom 6 this season. Dale Self 127 Posted 17/08/2025 at 14:57:59 I think the ref told Guehi that only one step is a legal clearing of space in the wall. He made three, which was a foul. Liam Mogan 128 Posted 17/08/2025 at 15:01:22 That should have been a pen near the end of the half. Guehi flicks it on and the keeper punches him in the back of the head.Even in boxing, that's a foul!VAR is so inconsistent. There were a few given for that last year. James Newcombe 129 Posted 17/08/2025 at 15:01:50 I reckon Potter will be one the first sacked. West Ham fans arent known for patience! Danny O'Neill 130 Posted 17/08/2025 at 15:02:53 I think youre right Rob. He was porromoted from set piece coach. On the Eze free kick. The rule is that opposition players must be one metre in front of the defensive wall until the ball is in play.Begs the question why didn't the ref intervene and move them before it was taken?× Dale Self 131 Posted 17/08/2025 at 15:28:59 Romario looked like he wanted to get on the pitch, and probably could contribute. Jim Bennings 132 Posted 17/08/2025 at 16:01:12 I'm impressed by Forest again, Brentford look like they could be coming to the end of the little era of entertainment in my opinion. My man Wood nets two again, I really wish cheddar head Dyche had pursued Wood when he was out of favour, given he worked with him at Burnley back in the day.Honestly think we've missed a striker in that mould for years now. Gerry Quinn 133 Posted 17/08/2025 at 16:01:53 Doing well so far this season - we are still 13th !!!! :) Kevin Naylor 134 Posted 17/08/2025 at 17:21:09 Muembo head and shoulders above all the United players, must be wondering why he's gone there now. Colin Glassar 135 Posted 17/08/2025 at 17:22:28 Despite losing at the moment, I cant see us finishing above Man U again. They look like they have turned a corner. For the last two seasons Ive been saying we should put in a bid for Casemiro and was told hes too old, too slow etc.. Today hes showing hes still class and would start in most teams. Robert Tressell 136 Posted 17/08/2025 at 17:32:06 Colin # 135, why would Casemiro leave Utd and his £350k p/w wage behind to join Everton? Danny O'Neill 137 Posted 17/08/2025 at 17:35:56 United's keeper flapped and the defence was bullied. It's way too early to predict where anyone apart from the obvious are going to finish. If I recall, the league table never used to get published until 3 games in. Having it after one makes no sense or context. Ian Bennett 138 Posted 17/08/2025 at 17:38:06 United keeper is poor. If they go with him, they'll do nothing Colin Glassar 139 Posted 17/08/2025 at 17:44:18 Theyve been trying for ages to get rid of him, Robert. Looks like Amorim trusts him more than his predecessors. Liam Mogan 140 Posted 17/08/2025 at 17:59:15 De Ligt is going to get so exposed at CB for manure Add Your Comments In order to post a comment, you need to be logged in as a registered user of the site. » Log in now Or Sign up as a ToffeeWeb Member — it's free, takes just a few minutes and will allow you to post your comments on articles and Talking Points submissions across the site.
