Season › 2024-25 › Opinion › Talking Points Everton Membership and streaming access by Jay Harris | 14/07/2025 29 Comments [Jump to last] I am trying to renew my digital membership and get access to stream our 2 friendlies this week. On the Everton website, it keeps telling me I have a current subscription but last year's subscription ran out on 9 June and I can't see a renewal in my credit card charges. Any advice on what to do? Disclaimer () Justin Doone 1 Posted 14/07/2025 at 22:22:23 Jay, Tey are wanting to charge £7.50 on top of membership and season ticket prices to watch the two friendlies which I find a bit cheeky.I know, the extra revenue may prove useful but surely it's peanuts and to be honest puts me off watching them. I would at least need some proof that they have invested and improved the terrible experience a lot of fans have had with the poor EFC streaming experience of the past 20 years. Michael Kenrick 2 Posted 14/07/2025 at 22:41:21 I was having trouble too, Jay.I made sure I was logged in with my old Username and Password. Then I was clicking like crazy on the memberships page, 2025-26 Memberships On SaleWhat it does not show very clearly is that each click adds a new Membership to your basket, which you might just spot lurking in the very top right of the webpage. If you click on this, all will be revealed. I had eight memberships stacked up and had to remove all but one individually, very clunky, before it finally let me part with £60 — but it did of course remember my credit card details!Oh, I'm still struggling to pay for the streaming. All I get is a mostly blank page that says:You're all done hereYou've either completed your payment or this checkout session has timed out. Eric Myles 3 Posted 15/07/2025 at 06:15:16 Oh, I forgot about the international membership, I'll have to look out for it myself. Derek Knox 4 Posted 15/07/2025 at 10:00:52 Jay, good point there on the Official Membership Scheme, they want the Forever Blue+ @ £60.00 to get a discounted £7.49 chance to watch only 2 matches (Accrington and Blackburn) no mementos either. Rip-off time is well and truly upon us. David Milner 5 Posted 15/07/2025 at 10:30:19 Christine,There is no International Membership and hasn't been for 2 years. Only Adult Membership for us living abroad. Minik Hansen 6 Posted 15/07/2025 at 11:32:34 David, I was about to clarify that, no International Memberships offered. I've been a member for some years, and I don't want to cut it. Haven't done it for this coming season yet, it has changed. I might afford it if I don't pay to watch these pre-season friendlies?? :) Christine Foster 7 Posted 15/07/2025 at 12:45:35 Well that's of absolutely no benefit to overseas fans anywhere. (Forever Blue) for 60 quid gets you a whole lot of nothing if you are overseas. What happened to the international focus with FAB? Mike Hayes 8 Posted 15/07/2025 at 13:55:28 Jay Harris Christine Foster - after a break if a few years I purchased the £60 membership and unlike the £30 2017/18 membership Ive got nothing to show for it. Ive literally just found the two last ones. One has a scarf key ring and a badge. The other a pen mended badge and key ring. One season it was a Everton wash bag key ring and badge - all in a preservation tin along with membership card. This new membership has given me nothing physical - but the chance to miss out on purchasing priority tickets for matches - the main three were sold out before I could open the official club app! To now find that we have to pay to watch the three matches is an insult and so far a complete waste of £60 better spent elsewhere 😡💙 Derek Knox 9 Posted 15/07/2025 at 14:03:25 Listen, I am as incensed as everyone with these schemes and escalating costs, which like Christine F says succinctly gives you absolutely nothing in effect. We all have the power collectively to say No, by not purchasing. If sufficient numbers do it, they will take notice eventually. Fed up progressively being ripped off by the Club I love! Jay Harris 10 Posted 15/07/2025 at 14:19:42 For the record, it was £35 last year and some Everton trivia was sent internationally which I thought was good value for an expat who couldn't get to games with free live streaming of preseason games. This year as stated it has almost doubled to £60 — plus you have to pay for every game you stream.Come on, FAB, let the new owners know this is a poor decision for sadly no longer "The People's Club".Derek, unfortunately we will all end up paying to be able to watch the team or to be able to buy tickets to Everton games.Oh how I miss John Moores. Danny O'Neill 11 Posted 15/07/2025 at 15:04:11 I have to say, I do have sympathy for the overseas supporters. I also have sympathy for those in the UK, who can't go to the match.I understand the club is now looking to maximise revenue, but I would have thought that, at the very least, those who have forked out £60 on the Forever Blue Plus membership, would have free access to the club's TV channel. All that is on offer is that + members will receive an email with a code for a 25% discount. One for the FAB; have they been appointed yet? I saw the down select, but haven't seen anything on the official or FAB websites since then.On the subject of kit sponsorship, I hope that, at the end of this season, we get rid of Castore and negotiate a decent deal. It's about time we had an Adidas kit. There is something about Adidas strips. Ron Sear 12 Posted 15/07/2025 at 15:08:19 As usual I'm a bit baffled as to what Everton are are actually offering as they tend to blur actual information on their website in a busy visual mess. Does the season ticket cover the live viewing of the pre-season games? Has anybody received any actual information regarding those who have bought season tickets but haven't got, can't use or even want a 'smart'phone and would very much like to see the matches they have paid for? Dale Rose 13 Posted 15/07/2025 at 17:28:37 If you do join this do you get extended highlights from PL games obviously after they have been played. ?.It does seem to be a nightmare to sign up to. Rob Hooton 14 Posted 15/07/2025 at 18:00:41 Many of us wanted to see better commercial activity from the club - being ripped off is part of that, the Sky 6 know how to rip their fans off good and proper and the US does it better than most, so here we go.Saw the price of our new kit, a complete turn off for something that costs about £1 to make in some poor sweatshop (yet another poor design too IMO).Glad Ive cancelled all my sports packages, I still love Everton but hate what the PL and top flight football has become. Dave Abrahams 15 Posted 17/07/2025 at 11:51:40 Not the same subject but I went to Goodison yesterday about getting a season ticket card like I've always used at Goodison for the new season at Bramley-Moore Dock. I've never had a mobile phone — which you need for an app to gain entrance to the new stadium. The young lad at the ticket office told me they would be sending details out and a form to fill in to get a season ticket card for those who wanted or needed one to gain entrance next season… but wouldn't be sending this information until after the Roma game. I said to the lad this doesn't leave much time to receive the form, fill it in and then wait for the card to come and be ready for use. It seems, going on this, that Everton are still in the time groove that they have been in for the last few decades. I'll wait and see what happens and if I get sorted out in time for the Brighton home game! Liam Mogan 16 Posted 17/07/2025 at 11:59:40 Dave – did they say you had to have a 'justifiable reason' for wanting a physical card? That's what they told me – although they couldn't exactly say what a 'justifiable reason' is! Tony Abrahams 17 Posted 17/07/2025 at 12:55:51 Jay and Danny, thinking about things logically, then if we want to have a real voice, it will have to come independently away from the football club.I was talking to an old friend the other day about Everton, and when it came to discussing the new stadium, I said hopefully every single member of KEIOC will be given the VIP treatment because we would have been on a slow painful death if it wasn't for those people.I knew my mate was part of the movement but I didn't know he was the initial treasurer of KEIOC until he told me, and when he elaborated, he said that some of the stick they took off fellow Evertonians was both unbelievable and also very incomprehensible. This post will now get deleted because it's going to mention something that happened that got a man banned from ToffeeWeb.Brian Murray saw Jaz from the FAB while he was full of ale and tore into him allegedly using racist words.I asked him what he had said, and his reply was "I don't remember". He said "I was both drunk and also very angry with that man because, while we were protesting against the board in the pissing down rain, that Jaz was in another place getting interviewed by Sky Television, whilst claiming he was happy with the board."Brian assured me he had apologised for using words that upset Jaz, but told me he had never received an apology from FAB for what he thought were very selfish and treasonous actions.I hope it's not removed because I'm trying to get my point across. Dave Beeston has been uttering words like "nurturing the souls of the club" and this is exactly why we need a united and independent fan group, imo.Liverpool's American owners put their ticket prices right up and guess what happened? The independent fan group made them see sense and probably told them a few home truths as well. It's complicated, some people have got the money, but others haven't, although this is not something that many people stop and think about any longer. Danny O'Neill 18 Posted 17/07/2025 at 13:23:28 It's a very good point Tony. As you and many know, I applied for the FAB but got told they had lots of strong applications. Even Dave Kelly, who already was on it had his application to remain rejected. What you say makes sense to me. Independent of the club, but with a voice that unites the supporters. I may not be the greatest Evertonian, there are far more befitting of that title, but I'd be happy to be part of it.As you say, and what we've seen in recent seasons, when our support base unites, even in adversity, no onee can touch us. We shall not be moved as you say. We are what makes Everton. As for Brian, he's served his time, so I'd like to to see him given a reprieve. He's a big softie really, even when he's shouting at me in the morning. Dave Abrahams 19 Posted 17/07/2025 at 21:22:06 Liam (16) I only talked to a young lad and he just told me they would be sending information out and forms to fill in then he took my customer number and said that had all the information he needed. He was okay so I never pushed him on why they couldn't move their arses a bit quicker than they do and will wait and see what happens. Liam Mogan 20 Posted 17/07/2025 at 21:26:28 Thanks, Dave. The person I spoke to said the club didn't want to give out physical cards as they couldn't keep track on who was using it. Unlike with digital where you have to transfer it to another member (who have to pay £50 for membership) or put it up for resale. He also said if I personally didn't use the ticket for a certain number of games it can be taken away. Dave Abrahams 21 Posted 18/07/2025 at 10:14:03 Liam (20), You've got me thinking with the remarks that were made to you over the physical cards — why would they send information and forms to every season ticket fan?I'll wait and see the outcome but I'll be back to see them about it — it's easy for me living about 5 minutes by bus from Goodison Park. Liam Mogan 22 Posted 18/07/2025 at 10:24:48 I always feel sorry for the young people who get the grief in the ticket office, Dave. Don't think they always get the right info tbh. I remember when digital cards came in and they didn't work properly - I ended up speaking to a girl in there who basically said the managers had said 'we're going digital, sort it', but none of the staff and any of the skills required. I knew a bit about it as we'd just implemented something similar in the college where I work.I also remember the time they sent out thousands of season tickets to the wrong people. I was top Balcony and got one for Upper Bullens. After speaking to the office, they had a work experience kid in who they asked to stuff the envelopes. But hadn't explained the name on the season ticket needed to match the envelope! Dave Abrahams 23 Posted 18/07/2025 at 10:31:14 Liam (22) Cracking story in your last paragraph.Yes, I always have time for the younger staff and, when they apologise for giving me the information about certain things, I tell them I understand as they are just the messengers — it's easier to speak to people face to face rather than on the phone. Matt Traynor 24 Posted 18/07/2025 at 10:42:43 Liam #22, that last paragraph is priceless! The thing about revoking tickets if they're not used is a worrying development - Man U (and others) started doing similar last season.Reminds me of a story I heard on national radio years ago. Newcastle were in the Keegan Managerial years (part 1) and season tickets were sold out, every game was a sell out. Caller to the radio said the 2 seats next to him were empty. He had mates desperate for tickets and spoke to the ticket office - they said they'd been sold, nothing could be done.Boxing Day, a Dad and his lad appeared in the seats. The dad was incandescent over the present they'd got from his wife. Danny O'Neill 25 Posted 18/07/2025 at 11:03:04 I've always found the ticket office helpful. Like anything, I find if you are kind to them, they will be kind back. It's human instinct that if someone comes in guns blazing and abusive, defences go up and you are less inclined to be helped. On the cards, my understanding is they won't be issued automatically, but will be on a case-by-case request basis. I believe it's a £10 surcharge. The club are getting better on responses. I've emailed them a few times over the years. Sometimes they've ignored me, others they've sent me a bland response 2 or 3 weeks later. The last one was recently and linked to season tickets. I got a next day response. The question was whether the friends and family transfer would still work next season, to which the response was yes, so I would imagine that would nullify any threat of having a season ticket revoked, as long as it is passed to another member? And you can use the online resale platform.I'd hate to think a season ticket would be revoked. There are all sorts of reasons people can't attend every match, myself included. The digital tickets were a bit clumsy at first and did create a delay in getting in to the ground. I know not everyone has a smartphone, but downloading to Apple or Samsung wallets works seamlessly. Not just at Everton, but increasingly at grounds all around the country. Now to stop those pesky websites snapping up tickets and reselling with an up-marked price. It got terrible last season. I don't use them, but I watch out for them.Mark Murphy and I raised it with the club. The response was "don't use them". Thanks. That wasn't the point. John Pickles 26 Posted 18/07/2025 at 13:25:37 I couldn't purchase the new membership online, I think it's a Ticketmaster thing: I can't order with them, so, as I couldn't find a phone number, I sent an e-mail. Within a few moments I got an acknowledgement, and an hour later there was another with the phone number on. I called it, and quickly renewed myself and the missus.Online, the system is pants; the old system, over the phone, works fine. Jay Harris 27 Posted 18/07/2025 at 13:56:33 Big changes but everything remains the same.I emailed the support team about the membership and access and the reply I got was hilarious. The support team have noted your issue and will be in touch in the next 21 days!!As it turned out, I managed to pay for the game and watch the lads going through the motions but no thanks to the Everton administration at vastly increased prices.I suppose we have to pay for the new board somehow. Christine Foster 28 Posted 18/07/2025 at 22:45:06 Tony, 17# FAB was borne out of something else — not to give fans a voice but to create the illusion of listening, of pretence. A vehicle for fans that went nowhere. Behind closed doors in the boardroom, you could probably hear the board's laughter at their jolly wheeze. But eventually, ignored and frustrated, FAB turned on its master and asked uncomfortable questions and demands. But the truth is FAB, whilst the child of necessity of a board under threat, it turned on its parent like a young adolescent teenager who realised truth when the gloss wore off the pride of involvement.Tarnished by association, it needs to cut the apron strings or close its doors. Independence to ask the uncomfortable questions of a board, involvement of fans and shareholders, a voice that not only asks questions but is a two-way conduit, not a PR exercise. The pretence is over; FAB is a casualty in the battle for Everton. Sadly, as the concept was good, but it was never intended to actually be true to the concept. The fact is that FAB woke up and started asking questions it never got answers to; it was ignored. It became an inconvenience and a thorn to an arrogant pair of owners and a board. But in many eyes, it was already tainted by association. Sometimes, you need to let things go; fresh beginnings – not just of home, owners or board but how we, the fans, stakeholders, make our voice heard.Fresh beginnings. The ties that bind us are no more. Bill Watson 29 Posted 18/07/2025 at 00:38:58 If we must have them, then I can manage with digital tickets. The first two test events were digital and I have them for the Blackburn and Roma games but I'd much prefer the plastic card I've had since they were introduced, or the old-fashioned paper tickets (remember them?) I get for away games. Some day, at some stadium, there's going to be complete chaos when there's a broadband outage!Derek; unfortunately, it's the way the game's going. My mate and I will probably spend less actually going to Blackburn than those forced to pay extra, on top of their membership, for the live TV stream. I've never, ever, bought any official merchandise; the few Everton tops I have are all fakes!! In a previous existence, as a financial adviser, I was doing a financial health check on a customer buying a pension. It turned out she had a market stall flogging fake gear and I ended up trying on Everton tops. It was just before the 1995 Cup Final. Very unprofessional I know but I got a shirt for £4 and she did the pension!
