Writing in The Athletic, Matt Slater outlines the reasons why John Textor's bid for Everton isn't ever likely to come off.

Chief among them are concerns among his partners in Eagle Football Group around Farhad Moshiri's links with sanctioned oligarch, Alisher Usmanov, and the sponsorship his USM Holdings provided the Club prior to Russia's invasion of Ukraine; the murky nature of the loans from 777 Partners and A-Cap that frightened off the Friedkin Group and the fact, having bought Lyon, Botafogo and Molenbeek, that Eagle might be over-stretched.

This is an exceptionally well put-together description of the Textor saga.

It's a very long read but well worth it if you want the most comprehensive and balanced assessment of where he stands with his various football clubs and his expressed interest in Everton.

Spoiler alert: there are no short and swift answers to this one, which seems unlikely to conclude before 30 November.

As I've posted on another thread ( this one is more appropriate)
Aliya Capital Partners are backing Textor.
They are also major investors in Elon Musks SpaceX project and are major players in the US investment industry

Yep, and Stefan Borson ruled out Friedkin bidding - next day they got exclusivity.

An awful lot of shite spouted by experts, will a less than 20% success rate of getting it right most of the time.

In the old days they just wrapped up the chips up with it...
