Season › 2021-22 › General Forum Ongoing site issues 28/01/2022 Share: As you have no doubt noticed, the ToffeeWeb site has been struggling of late, with slow page load times, server errors and periods of inaccessibility.A rebuild of the site's news, articles and comments engine is underway and, once complete, TW will likely be migrated to a new server. In the meantime, your patience is very much appreciated, especially at this time of high drama — and, therefore, increased traffic. As noted on article pages, due to the site's poor performance, comment submissions might take a while to go through or might be met with a server error so please just click the submit button once on a given page to avoid duplicate entries.Cheers!UpdateSome interim code changes have improved site performance significantly which has lessened the urgency of any overhaul and the planned migration. The first Live Forum on matchday will be a good guide for the timeline. Reader Comments (11) Note: the following content is not moderated or vetted by the site owners at the time of submission. Disclaimer Simon Harrison 1 Posted 28/01/2022 at 23:23:22 Thanks for the update fellas.I know it's a lot like, how long is a piece of string, but have you any idea when the migration process will be completed?Thank you again, and good luck. Lyndon Lloyd 2 Posted 29/01/2022 at 20:49:07 My guess now is two to four weeks. Most of the problems this week have been caused by the elevated traffic caused by the news around the manager search. I'm hoping to stumble on through the period before the migration with performance slow at times but without the site being almost totally inaccessible! Danny O’Neill 3 Posted 29/01/2022 at 20:57:43 Thanks Lyndon.Testimony to the increased popularity and engagement by supporters. All through the good work you and Michael do in making it available as a voice for Evertonians. And probably caused by fools like me who post too much!!Keep up the good work. Wait until May and we are at Wembley. Whatever upgrades you do, the site will be in meltdown. Julian Exshaw 4 Posted 29/01/2022 at 21:00:30 The site is invaluable and you guys do a great job. Thanks. Colin Glassar 5 Posted 29/01/2022 at 21:03:27 Is this why the live forum isn't up and running? It would've been fun chatting about all the Lampard gossip.Anyway, get it fixed now before the Frankie Lampard revolution begins in earnest. Tony Hill 6 Posted 29/01/2022 at 21:04:58 Yes, it's a miniscule inconvenience in the context of the best fan site I have ever seen. Simon Harrison 7 Posted 29/01/2022 at 21:23:17 Thanks for the update, Lyndon. We as Blues are certainly living in 'interesting' times... Paul Birmingham 8 Posted 30/01/2022 at 20:04:42 Great effort, thanks Lyndon & Team. Lyndon Lloyd 9 Posted 31/01/2022 at 04:39:10 Colin: 'Is this why the live forum isn't up and running?'It is indeed, Colin. The LF is usually a pretty heavy drain on the system at the best of times. It would be useful to have for transfer deadline day but let's see how things go. Paul Hughes 10 Posted 31/01/2022 at 14:49:24 Thanks Lyndon, as others have said: A small inconvenience for what is, by miles, the best fan site in terms of articles, content and ease of use. Dave Abrahams 11 Posted 01/02/2022 at 11:36:09 I know it is difficult and awkward for you at the moment Lyndon but we who benefit from ToffeeWeb are getting through with it okay and glad we can contribute and read the comments daily, so four weeks will fly by and hopefully most of the comments will be happier ones because of where we are in the league and the FA cup!!
