Paul Ferry 2 Posted 12/01/2025 at 18:05:59 At home versus Bournemouth. Gerry Quinn 3 Posted 12/01/2025 at 18:06:01 We have drawn Bournemouth again!!! Paul Ferry 4 Posted 12/01/2025 at 18:09:08 Some nice ties:Brighton v ChelseaLeeds v Millwall… ouch! Rob Halligan 5 Posted 12/01/2025 at 18:10:57 Yahoo! Bournemouth at home….we fucking owe them big time. Bring it on. Paul Ferry 6 Posted 12/01/2025 at 18:13:13 Looks like Everton, Liverpool, Spurs, Newcastle, Man City, Man Utd, Forest, and probably Chelsea will all be in the last 16. Rob Halligan 7 Posted 12/01/2025 at 18:14:38 Paul, Villa away wont be easy for Spurs. Paul Ferry 8 Posted 12/01/2025 at 18:16:00 Sorry, Rob, for some reason I had Mansfield in my head. That's another good game, Villa v Spurs. Oliver Molloy 9 Posted 12/01/2025 at 18:19:02 Nothing to fear with Bournemouth at our place! Ajay Gopal 10 Posted 12/01/2025 at 18:27:57 Bournemouth have humiliated us twice this season. It is payback time! Jim Bennings 11 Posted 12/01/2025 at 19:16:43 One thing I'm really hoping can be reinstated under David Moyes, albeit for not for long due to leaving, is a better record at Goodison Park.Under Moyes during his first spell, we were generally always solid, a place where opponents hated coming. Since the pandemic in 2020, every Tom, Dick and Harry has come here and made themselves comfortable.Hopefully, between now and May, we can get back some bollox in us and make the Old Lady a place to fear for opposition sides again. Rob Jones 12 Posted 12/01/2025 at 19:33:20 This is an opportunity to redeem our biggest fuck-up this season. A season we started so badly, but the home game destroyed the season, and Sean Dyche's tenure. We should have won 5-0 that day. Instead, we lost, and Sean Dyche lost every shred of confidence in the team's ability to attack and play on the front foot.We owe these fuckers a beating for that day, and every depressing match that's followed it.It's at home, and as Jim's said, if there's anything I expect David Moyes to restore from his first tenure here is our ability to beat all but the very best at Goodison. Jonathan Tasker 13 Posted 12/01/2025 at 19:48:36 Everton v Bournemouth We have only played them once at home in the FA Cup: 16 January 1937, We won 5-0. Were any of you there?More recently, we beat them 2-0 away in the 5th round on 20 February 2016, Barkley and Lukaku scored. Those are the only two times we have played in FA Cup. Robert Tressell 14 Posted 12/01/2025 at 21:06:57 A good opportunity to get revenge for the early season shitshow. Come on Moyes, win us the trophy! Mark Murphy 15 Posted 12/01/2025 at 21:14:25 When actually is the next round? Brian Wilkinson 16 Posted 12/01/2025 at 21:37:20 8th Feb, baring tv schedule changes Mark. Tom Bowers 17 Posted 12/01/2025 at 21:37:42 I hate Bournemouth. They are always at their best when they play Everton which doesn't say much for Everton, sad to say.Anyhow survival in the Prem. is key so they can stuff the F.A. cup.We have presented them with 2 wins this season already but surely not a third. Nigel Scowen 18 Posted 12/01/2025 at 21:49:57 Not a chance TomSurvival and the FA CupLet the Bear roar!!! Mark Murphy 19 Posted 13/01/2025 at 08:34:24 Cheers, Brian, Hopefully I can make that! Colin Crooks 20 Posted 13/01/2025 at 08:49:17 Ajay,Bournemouth did not humiliate us at Goodison early in the season. We did that all by ourselves mate. Time to set the record straight. Jeff Spiers 21 Posted 13/01/2025 at 10:16:34 Why have teams playing FA Cup games recently changed kits? Example, Arsenal v Man U. Surely it's always the home side wearing their colours. Or I am seeing things? Jon Harding 22 Posted 13/01/2025 at 10:40:48 Spot on Rob @12. This cup game is perfect for Moyes to get some real momentum behind his appointment - assuming we win.I bet a few of our travelling away fans are very glad there's no replays here!Jeff @ 21 Arsenal took all the red out of their kit to highlight knife crime (blood etc) and Villa were celebrating 150 years in their original black kits on Friday. Our turn in 2028. Jeff Spiers 23 Posted 13/01/2025 at 16:15:53 Jon@22.Thanks for that info. Any info on the Villa v West Ham kit? Sorry for being a pain mate John Flood 24 Posted 13/01/2025 at 21:51:36 Jeff (21),We did once wear our away kit (amber shirts and blue shorts) in the home Quarter Final vs Colchester United in 1971. I don't know why, as they wore red that day, but it did happen. This link shows it: https://youtu.be/g6cKic1k6GA?feature=shared Jeff Spiers 25 Posted 14/01/2025 at 12:34:21 Jon. Ignore my post@23. Getting old me Jeff Spiers 26 Posted 14/01/2025 at 12:37:40 John@24. Thanks for that piece of nostalgia John Raftery 27 Posted 14/01/2025 at 13:09:21 John (24) I remember we also wore our amber away kit versus Ipswich in the third round in 1969. I think there was a rule in those days that in the event of a colour clash the home team would change to their away kit unless the two clubs agreed otherwise. I think also with colour TV in its infancy and most households still watching on old sets there was pressure from BBC and ITV on clubs to wear kits which could be distinguished in monochrome.
