Everton have confirmed that Alan McTavish has left his role as the CEO of Everton women’s team. McTavish had been the CEO since 2022 and was responsible for appointing current boss Brian Sorensen.

Everton Women recently suffered a 3-1 loss to title-chasing Arsenal in the Women’s Super League.

“Alan McTavish has left his role as CEO of Everton Women,” the club issued an official statement.

“The club wishes Alan every success in the next step of his career. A further announcement on the Club’s leadership structure for Everton Women will be made in due course.”

It remains to be seen whether the club promotes someone from the present hierarchy or hires personnel from outside to fill this vacancy.

McTavish had previously served as the commercial director of Everton men before taking on the role of managing director of the women’s team in 2021. He was eventually promoted to the position of CEO in June 2022.

High-profile changes continue to be made in the administrative departments of Everton in the wake of The Friedkin Group takeover last December. Recently, Kevin Thelwell, the director of football of the men’s team, announced his departure and will leave the club once his contract expires this summer. Chief commercial and communications officer Richard Kenyon is also confirmed to depart.

The Blues will bring in Angus Kinnear from Leeds United to take over the role of CEO starting from next season.

Looks like it’s ’root and branch’ reform.
Would be interesting to know how the decisions are being made. People being judged as just not good enough or is it just that TFG are confident they can find / have found better replacements?

There is a bit of mini Man United about this. Why on earth does the women's teams need a CEO? I think it would be good to be leaner.

I am mildly encouraged about Kinnear. He is at least a proper CEO who has done a decent job at Leeds, building their commercial side effectively. Looks to me he would be very well suited to us at this stage of our development and a country mile more convincing than a lightweight like DBB.
