Beto is clear that a win against Southampton would be the “perfect farewell” for Goodison Park. He also wants to leave his mark at the Grand Old Lady’s “last dance” by getting on the scoresheet for the third consecutive game.

Nostalgia is expected to reign supreme on Sunday as the Toffees prepare to bid goodbye to Goodison after 133 years. “It's our last dance, you know?” Beto told evertontv ahead of the game.

“I want to be in the history [books], I want to score, I want to win. But most of all, I think the win is going to be perfect for the last farewell.”

Everton will feel confident heading into the fixture following a 3-1 win over Fulham at Craven Cottage. Raul Jimenez opened the scoring for the hosts before David Moyes’ side bounced back through Vitalii Mykolenko in the first half.

Michael Keane and Beto scored twice in the space of four minutes to complete a solid second-half comeback for the Blues.

Asked about the match, Beto said, “We did a good second half because our first half wasn't so good. We had a good response in the second half, a great shift, we scored some goals, and we won. I'm really happy to win.”

Beto has been on a strong scoring streak since Moyes returned for his second spell at the club. Saturday’s strike against Fulham was his seventh since the Scot took over. Only Alexander Isak (10), Mohamed Salah (10) and Jean-Philippe Mateta (9) have scored more Premier League goals than Beto during that period.

He is averaging 0.53 league goals per 90 and is the leading goal-scorer in the league for the Blues. With eight goals so far this season, he wants to get to the double-digit mark before the season comes to an end.

“I'm proud of myself, but I'm not satisfied. I'm happy to score. It's always a good joy to score with these teammates; with the fans. It's an unbelievable feeling. I just feel I'm blessed.”
