Jakupovic makes MLS move

Eldin Jakupovic has left Everton now that the need for this short-term contract at the club to provide goalkeeping cover is over, joining Los Angeles FC in the United States on a one-year deal.

The 38-year-old Swiss wasn't expected to make any appearances for the Toffees following his arrival in September, when he was named on the subs bench for the home game against West Ham, with both Jordan Pickford and Andy Lonergan out injured.

That injury crisis quickly passed, however, and the player's original 9-month contract will be cut short, with a move to Major League Soccer outfit LAFC now agreed.

Judiciously signed as safety cover. This is the kind of professional planning I like to see at Everton, multiple goalkeepers and no scoring forwards.

We should bring back Big Nev.

If he lay across the goal now, nobody would get one past him.

It was a short term loan deal that didn't cost us much but it was a vital position to have some cover for.

Knowing how bad some Everton recruirment decisions have been, it was sensible. No harm done, thanks and good luck to him.
