It seems that Alan Stubbs will be unveiled at a press conference tomorrow. I rang the Commercial Dept of Everton and they said that tomorrow looks like the date! Anyway, he is signed and sealed and that is the main thing. After Richard Gough's departure, I think Stubbs is an ideal replacement – especially on a free! He is a true Evertonian and you can't have enough of them in your team. And if Bally stay's, along with Weir and Watson, I think we will have a pretty good defence.
Speaking of Bally, things have gone quiet over his contract talks at the moment. Is that a god thing or a bad thing? Well, if it's taking this long to negotiate, I'll let you decide...
Anyway, the Official website has reported that Thomas Myhre is attracting interest from newly promoted Bolton Wanderers but we have rejected a bid from FC Copenhagen, reported to be around £500,000, which is below the estimated £1M asking price for the Norwegian international.
Tomasz Radzinski, meanwhile, is back in training with Anderlecht but is still hoping to clinch a move to Everton. But the Blues have given a 24-hour deadline for the £4M bid to be accepted or they will move on to other targets – reported to be anything from Lee Hughes to Tommy Johnson.
The talk of Graham Stuart returning to Goodison has died down since last week but, after the signing's of Stubbs and maybe Radzinski, expect the blues to follow up their interest in him or pursue a midfielder elsewhere.
Name's cropping up are Neil Ardley, Billy McKinlay and even Jason McAteer!! Just say No!!!
The search is still on for a goalkeeper to push Paul Gerrard for the Number 1 shirt next season. Roy Carroll is set to sign for Man Utd; that leaves us searching around for an alternative... watch this space.
One more piece of news, and that is Daniel Prodan: The Sun say he is due in for talks about a possible move to Goodison, but only if Michael Ball rejects a new contract.
Stephen Hughes yesterday completed his free transfer to Watford, he said it was an easy decision to make – obviously – no one else wanted you!
Anyway, thanks for reading. Keep checking TofeeWeb for all the latest news!
