The recent history of the Merseyside derby and best betting tips

It would be fair to say that the Merseyside derby has not been kind to Everton since the Premier League was launched in 2992.

They have won just 11 of their 64 meetings with Liverpool – a record which undoubtedly rankles with the blue half of the city.

On that basis, it is little wonder that the best football betting sites give Everton little chance of beating Liverpool in their next fixture on December 7.

With that in mind, read on as we look at the Premier League head-to-head between the two clubs before offering our best betting tips for the upcoming game.

Everton vs Liverpool – Betting tips

Everton upset the odds on the best football betting sites last year, claiming their first Merseyside derby win at home since October 2010 with a hard fought 2-0 victory.

While it is tough to imagine them producing a repeat performance, it is not beyond the realms of possibility for them to make life difficult for Liverpool again.

Backing the Toffees to claim a draw could pay dividends, while covering 0-0 and 1-1 scorelines in the correct score market is also worth considering.

Wagering on Dominic Calvert-Lewin to get on the scoresheet is another potential wager given that he has netted in two of his last four appearances against Liverpool.

However, our top tip for wagering on the best football betting sites is Liverpool midfielder Alexis Mac Allister to receive a yellow card at Goodison Park.

He has been booked four times in 11 games this season and will likely be embroiled in a heated battle in the middle of the park.

Everton’s midfield will ensure the game is combative and the Argentinian is a prime candidate to have his name taken by the referee.

Darwin Nunez is another option in the yellow card market having been booked when the teams met in April, although he is not guaranteed to start the game.
