Mersey clubs unite to support earthquake relief efforts
Everton and Liverpool will to come together to support the victims of the devastating earthquakes in Turkey and Syria when they meet in Monday's Anfield derby.
Match-issued shirts from the match will be signed and auctioned, with proceeds going to the Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC)’s Turkey-Syria Earthquake Appeal.
The funds raised from the auction will help deliver much-needed aid directly to those affected.
More than 22,000 people are now known to have died in the earthquakes, with many more injured, missing or displaced. Hospitals and schools are among the countless buildings to have collapsed and, with freezing winter conditions hitting both countries, humanitarian needs are expected to grow in the coming days.
Details of the online auction of match shirts will be confirmed in due course. Supporters can also donate to the appeal directly by visiting dec.org.uk
The Premier League has announced that, as a mark of respect, all players and PGMOL officials will wear black armbands during the upcoming round of matches.
