Are Everton really looking at Joshua Zirkzee?
With the continuing struggles of Beto and Barry upfront for Everton, the Rumour Mill has burst into life with a claim that Everton could be looking to make a move for Joshua Zirkzee, whom The Mirror unashamedly label as a Man Utd Flop.
Sky Sports and others have also got wind of this, claiming that Everton want to get a different profile of forward to Beto and Barry, and that Ivan Toney and Zirkzee are high up on their list of targets should they become available in January.
Zirkzee, 24, joined Manchester United from Bologna on 14 July 2024, but has only scored 7 goals in 54 matches, with just 3 of those coming in 36 Premier League appearances.
Zirkzee has made only five appearances this season and has been on the pitch for just 90 minutes after Man Utd strengthened their forward options in the summer with the acquisition of Benjamin Sesko, Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo. Consequently, Zirkzee has slipped well down the pecking order.

Everton do have something of an established history for picking up waifs and strays who have been turfed out of Old Trafford, and the manager David Moyes can boast a unique managerial connection with one of his former clubs... but is this enough to create a firm link that will lead to anything substantive?
It seems unlikely given the current betting odds suggest West Ham are in the lead in this particular race, with a current price of 3/1 for a January move.

So either we weren't interested, or we're now desperate.

If we haven't bought one by next summer, then I'd make my priority getting someone like Rashford from Man Utd for £25M instead of spending it on Grealish who we could get for the same price or less off Man City!

Shouldn't this be in Rumour Mill?
Yea, that's what I thought. Tried posting it there but realized that none of the Rumour Mill stories were showing properly. So it's here for now as a headline item.
Hopefully one of the many glitches in the new site that I can have the tech guys work on and fix soon...

I was okay to post on this thread but the “Good time Charlie” Ancelotti thread I couldn't post without logging in again so I gave it a miss...
Except to say on this thread: No wonder Ancelotti enjoyed his wonderful time at Everton the bleedin' money he was on but he just couldn't say no to Real Madrid!

Joshua Zirkzee has already confirmed Everton contract offer amid Blues transfer interest
“When I was there, they offered me a contract straightaway.”
What a crock. What an absolute crock. That was in July 2017. You uttertwats.

We would have been better trying to get Høijlund on loan in the summer from Man Utd. We've now lost half a season without a decent forward.

Joshua Zirkzee is going to AS Roma while Evan Ferguson will come to Everton in a massive move to boost the falttering efforts of the misfiring Blues Brothers up front for The Toffees.
You couldn't make it up. Well, you could I suppose. And it seems like someone has already.
I can't really get up the enthusiasm to track every twist and turn of the transfer rumour mill as we creep slowly towards the January window. Hell's bells -- we have another 6 weeks of this nonsense to endure before the window opens!!!

Similar to when DA and KK kept attacking every post Darren put on this site.
Please stop, gents, be nice, be civil. As the saying goes: "If you have nothing good to say, say nothing."
