Season › 2012-13 › News Sheedy returns to Finch Farm Lyndon Lloyd , 17 October, 10comments | Jump to most recent Kevin Sheedy is back at work at Everton after recovering from successful bowel cancer surgery and is thankful for all the support he received from Club and fans alike during what was a "torrid time". The 52-year-old legend from the Blues' 1980s golden era was diagnosed with early stage bowel cancer in August and Sheedy is thankful for that early discovery. "It has been a bit of a torrid time," he told evertonfc.com. "It's a bit surreal — it happened so quickly, I had the operation quickly and I've recovered quickly. It just seems as if it hasn't happened. "Obviously it did happen, I was very, very fortunate and managed to catch it early enough and I was in excellent hands with the surgeon and all the staff. I am a really lucky lad." Happy to be back at work, he is now looking forward to continuing his coaching duties at his beloved Everton: "I started back on Monday and I am just easing way back into it, assisting Duncan and sharing the workload. He has been helping me out. It's great to be back, it's like I'm starting again at a new club. "I had what I had and I've overcome it and I am just really looking forward to being back where I love being and coaching the players."
