Terms and Conditions of Use

ToffeeWeb.com (the “Platform”) — the main website, discussion pages, comment sections and message Forum — is created and made available by the providers ("we", "us", “our") to our readers and members (“Users”) to engage in civil discussion about matters pertaining to Everton Football Club, football in general and other topics of interest.

We are not responsible for any content created, submitted and/or posted (“Content”) to the Platform by User accounts. Content submitted by Users represents the views of their author only.

By creating a membership account on the Platform and posting Content, you are granting us with a non-exclusive, permanent, irrevocable, unlimited license to use, publish, or re-publish your accredited Content elsewhere on or in connection with the Platform, including to social media channels. You retain copyright over the Content. We commit to never share your personal contact details with any third party unless required to by law or it is in our interests in preventing or verifying the source of spam and other unwanted Content.

You acknowledge and agree that when you submit Content or read that provided by others, you are doing so at your own discretion and risk, including accepting full responsibility for what you submit. You further acknowledge and agree that the views expressed by you and other users do not necessarily reflect our views as providers, and that our permission of the publication of User-generated Content does do not assume support or endorsement of that Content and the views expressed within.

All Content submitted or uploaded by your or other users may be reviewed by moderators and the providers of the Platform but you acknowledge that we have no obligation to pre-screen, monitor, review, or edit any such Content.

You also agree to not use the Platform to either submit or link to any Content which is defamatory, abusive, hateful, threatening, could be classified as spam, contains adult or objectionable content, contains personal information of others, risks copyright infringement, encourages unlawful activity, or otherwise violates any laws.

We reserve the rights to remove or modify any Content submitted for any reason without explanation. Requests for Content to be removed or modified will be undertaken only at our discretion. We reserve the right to take action against any account registered on the Platform at any time. If Content you post violates any of our Editorial terms or Conditions of Use or incurs financial penalty to us, we reserve the right to seek reimbursement from you.

This Platform is for Users aged 16 years or older. If you are younger than 16, please do not register for the Platform. If you do register for this Platform, you represent that you are 16 years of age or older.

We reserve the right to change these terms at any time and without notice. If you do not agree with these terms, please do not register or use this Platform. If you wish to close your account, please contact us.

Comment and Article Contributions

By submitting a Comment / Column Article / Fan Article / Talking Points item or General Forum post to this website, you agree to the following Conditions of Use:

1. You accept that you are participating in a free and open forum in which you take full personal and legal responsibility for the contents of your contribution.
2. You agree to provide your full name and valid e-mail address as part of your article submission and/or the creation of your ToffeeWeb Membership account for the submission of comments and acknowledge that your IP address will be recorded.
3. You acknowledge that you share with other contributors an equal right to comment on anything Everton-related, without prejudice, provided you do it respectfully and without abusing other contributors, the website, or its editors.
4. You agree not to denigrate other website users or contributors, no matter how much you may disagree with their freely expressed views and opinions.
5. You accept that you post as an individual and do not represent a/the 'majority' or any other claimed subset of Evertonians. [With exceptions for representatives of recogonized fan groups or other organized entities.]
6. You agree to only provide input to this site that is Everton-related or has a pertinent bearing on issues relevant to Everton FC — past, present or future.
7. You accept that other contributors are free, as you are, to comment on any issue related to Everton Football Club, it's Board of Directors, Owners, Manager, staff, employees and players.
8. You agree not to question or impugn the Evertonian credentials of other contributors or to denigrate their support of the Club. You also expressly agree not to call or imply that other contributors are or should become Liverpool supporters or kopites. You recognise and respect the inherent diversity of the Everton community and avoid categorizng by age, location, match attendance or other inherently divisive criterion.
9. You agree to compose your messages in mixed-case English (that means capital letters in the right places), with no use of texting lingo.
10. You acknowledge that your contribution may be edited for clarity or for content and have unsuitable content removed / deleted entirely at the discretion of the ToffeeWeb Editors whose decision is final regarding the publication of your contribution.
11. You acknowledge that the application of the above terms and conditions is entirely at the ToffeeWeb Editors' discretion and may vary depending on a given topic of discussion or issue.

If you feel unable to abide by these conditions, or your contribution deviates from these general guidelines, please reconsider your Membership application or contribution or send it to the editors, for our review.

Note that failure to adhere to these conditions may result in your ability to submit content to ToffeeWeb in future either restricted or blocked entirely.
