Why could the defeat against Wigan Athletic be good for Everton?

I cannot see Moyes leaving until he has won a trophy and that could be the bonus from defeat to Wigan with one more year of Moyes to try and achieve what appears unachievable.

It's more like a double wamy, half a season Davey staying for another half season.

It is articles like that which underlines the desperate need for Everton FC to break free of Moyes.

We were humiliated on Saturday yet the writer here is saying that it might be better for us because the architect of the defeat will not leave us until he has won something.

And there was me hoping to see EFC lift a trophy before I draw the pension... :-(

Dominic, good job the ConDems keep pushing the retirement age back eh?
I wouldn't read too much into articles like this. There are a plethora of blogs, opinion and analysis websites, just like ToffeeWeb, that seek to draw in readers to earn money through advertising.

ToffeeWeb is a news and user-generated opinion site, with a few regular contributors labelled as "columnists". The opinions on these other websites are worthy of no more or less consideration that anything you read on here.

There's a load of ways to spin Saturday's result. Theirs is to say Moyes will stay to win a trophy? Laughable. I'd say if he stays it's because he's not wanted elsewhere. Both opinions likely to be as wide of the mark as each other!

We have a very average squad which will struggle over the next couple of years, no matter who is in charge. Too many too old. Too many not interested. For me the only good thing about the Wigan game was the final whistle. (oh yeah, ...and Barkley showing promise.).
