Ross Edwards 2 Posted 26/03/2013 at 10:45:37 Baines, Cahill and Mirallas in my opinion. I was torn between Mikel Arteta and Kev but I went for Kev. Stuart Gray 3 Posted 26/03/2013 at 15:19:57 For me Arteta, Cahill and Pienaar (first time) James Cadwaladr 4 Posted 26/03/2013 at 16:32:28 Cahill Baines Arteta (on the right hand side) Ian Bennett 5 Posted 26/03/2013 at 16:34:01 The three that got away. Banega, Moutinho, and Fernandes. Andrew Ellams 6 Posted 26/03/2013 at 16:50:28 Baines, Lescott, Cahill.I went for Lescott because I think he has proved the hardest to replace. Distin has done a good job but we have never been as solid at the back since and Joleon scored his fair share of goals too. Tony J Williams 7 Posted 26/03/2013 at 17:12:42 HIbbert, Osman and Neville..........hmm Robert Moore 8 Posted 27/03/2013 at 02:20:24 Cahill, Baines, Arteta... it's sad we never gave Cahill a proper send-off, what a legend. Derek Thomas 9 Posted 27/03/2013 at 10:09:58 McFadden, Bily, Li Tie Lee Courtliff 10 Posted 27/03/2013 at 10:42:00 I wouldn't include Baines because he was obviously a player with a lot of potential and had played a couple of seasons in the Prem when we signed.I'd pick Cahill, Arteta and Pienaar.Approx £7.5m for all three and they had never played in the Premier League before yet they were all excellent. Thomas Surgenor 11 Posted 27/03/2013 at 12:11:40 Cahill... legend – pity he never got a proper send-off.Baines & Jagielka.Future candicates: Coleman & Mirallas. Sam Jennings 13 Posted 27/03/2013 at 13:54:41 Cahill, Baines, Arteta Adolf Ng 14 Posted 27/03/2013 at 17:32:40 Krøldrup, Simon Davies, Van der Meyde — all signed in the same year when we dreamed of CL and UEFA ~~~ Tony McNulty 15 Posted 27/03/2013 at 18:39:55 In terms of value for money (unfortunately the only criterion which seems to count at our cash-starved club) I would say: Cahill, Arteta, and probably Coleman, the way things are going now that he can defend better and seems to be increasingly effective going forward. Trevor Powell 16 Posted 28/03/2013 at 20:06:25 1. Riquelme 2. Scott Parker3. Moutinho Colin Glassar 17 Posted 28/03/2013 at 20:19:25 Krøldrup, Bilyaletdinov and Naismith. Mark Dunford 18 Posted 29/03/2013 at 19:24:42 Cahill has to top this list, Arteta is second because replacing Gravesen was tough at the time and he then played his best football for us then left on good terms. the third position is a hard choice – I'd say Coleman is the best bargain, Jagielka has grown as a player as has Baines. Don't think Martyn or Lescott were here long enough though both contributed.Krøldrup was worst and Bily second. Naismith was a low risk free transfer so doesn't register. James Martin 19 Posted 29/03/2013 at 19:38:40 Cahill, Arteta, Pienaar. To Think that combined these cost about £7 million. It is very unlikely that you will ever see signings like this again. In their best form these players were towards being some of the best in the premier league. God knows what a pre-injury Arteta would cost in this current market. Steven Telford 20 Posted 29/03/2013 at 23:32:12 Cahill, Baines, Arteta (but a very close 4th, Lescott). Now, to be knocking on the door of Europe with a net spend like ours, few could argue (although they will) that Moyes deserves credit for that.
