Season › 2015-16 › News Yarmolenko talks ongoing Lyndon Lloyd , 20 August, 197comments | Jump to most recent updated Everton are in discussions with Dynamo Kiev regarding a proposed deal for Andriy Yarmolenko and have agreed a fee according to reports. Those Liverpool Echo are reporting that the club are willing to trigger the player's €20m release clause, a suggestion countered by sources in Ukraine who claim no such clause exists. Nevertheless, it was our understanding that the player is keen but that Everton also face competition for Yarmolenko from as-yet un-named clubs. Kiev's owner Igor Surkis has gone on record as saying that Yarmolenko will only be allowed to leave for a "top club" and Stoke City's attempts to sign him earlier this summer were knocked back on that basis. Whether that represents a stumbling block where Everton are concerned - it's unlikely; again sources closer to Kiev assert that the Blues are highly-regarded - remains to be seen but it has been suggested that negotiations are unlikely to be straightforward.Still, ESPN are claiming that the Blues have now agreed a fee of £14.5m for Yarmolenko and the BBC also say a deal "could" be done for a similar amount. Talks are taking place in Monaco, with Everton officials hoping to conclude a deal soon. Disclaimer Brian Barlow 1 Posted 19/08/2015 at 19:35:36 Daily Express are reporting that bid of 㾽.5 million has been accepted for Yarmolenko. I think he could be a really good signing. Paz Mistry 3 Posted 19/08/2015 at 21:00:11 Daily Express, for what it's worth, saying we have agreed a deal for Yarmalenko.Believe it when I see it... James Flynn 4 Posted 19/08/2015 at 22:29:31 I see the Express is saying we've agreed on a deal for Yarmolenko.Anyone hear anything? Jay Harris 6 Posted 20/08/2015 at 00:20:00 James, some reporters are saying a fee has been agreed and the player (who is fussy) is yet to agree terms. Some reports say the initial rumour was false and nothing has yet been agreed. As they say, we will have to wait until they are holding the shirt up. John Aldridge 7 Posted 20/08/2015 at 00:26:59 Yes please. Skilful, cracking left foot and an eye for a pass and the goal. Can see us with him and Delboy/Kev bombing down both wings. Hope this one happens. James Stewart 9 Posted 20/08/2015 at 00:47:28 Hope this one happens. A class player and would improve us drastically. Gareth Fieldstead 10 Posted 20/08/2015 at 00:57:27 Is this dependent on Stones being sold, Lyndon? Usually when the board is this quiet, it means we have no money to spend?! Nicholas Ryan 13 Posted 20/08/2015 at 01:49:30 As Meg Ryan put it, in 'When Harry met Sally' .... Yes,Yes, Yes, Yes !! Michael O'Brien 14 Posted 20/08/2015 at 02:26:58 Tore us apart in Kiev (by far there best player) class player could be just what we are looking for. Conor Skelly 15 Posted 20/08/2015 at 03:45:23 I said the other day I saw him as potentially a square peg in a round hole. But what a square peg to have. Whether or not he fits into the team is one thing but no doubt he will shine individually. Get this done Everton. Eivind Nyhus 16 Posted 20/08/2015 at 05:55:51 Sigh him up, Roberto! Phil Malone Jnr 17 Posted 20/08/2015 at 06:02:11 Watched him in Europa, tore us apart... but is he slow??He's tall, he has great skill and he's strong. My concern is he's too slow for the Premier League. Brian Porter 18 Posted 20/08/2015 at 06:04:49 It would be a massive statement of intent by us if we can pull this one off. Who knows, it may even convince John Stones, if he does have any doubts, that we mean to build a winning squad, one he should be proud to be a part of. Yarmolenko is a superb player, and would give us real attacking venom. Praying to the transfer fairy that we get this deal done, and quickly. Chris Wilson 19 Posted 20/08/2015 at 06:36:13 I think the key word you say, Brian Porter is "quickly". I just don't want this to turn into some drawn out saga that drags on and on, and we're forced to bail on the deal as Dynamo Kiev becomes more difficult to negotiate with as the transfer window closes. Hey, that scenario sounds awfully familiar.Would be great to get him in time to at least introduce him to Evertonians before the Man City game. Neil Gribbin 20 Posted 20/08/2015 at 06:38:41 If we sign him, I would be happy. Looked class against us. Make this happen blues Mark Burns 21 Posted 20/08/2015 at 07:02:06 On the Stones thread, everyone calls the journos 'hacks' who make up stories but on a thread about someone we might buy, it could be a genuine story??? Anything that is written in these papers is a load of crap made up to keep the writer in a job. Don't believe a word until the guy is holding the shirt. The article even states that the information was taken from a fake BT sport account. Jim Bennings 22 Posted 20/08/2015 at 07:33:27 Now this is a move that does excite.Just make it happen Blues! He's not slow, he's a football brain and that's something our midfield really needs out there. Were Eric Cantona or Teddy Sheringham fast players?? No but their football brain was forever working.I actually believe Bilyaletdinov was a wasted talent here, every time the lad played in his natural preferred position just behind the striker for the Russia team he prospered, for a guy with such a sweet left foot and rocket shot I believe we denied ourselves a privilege by shuffling him out wide left. Alex Jones 24 Posted 20/08/2015 at 07:49:38 I just hope we get it done quickly before the inevitable Spurs and West Ham links surface and it all gets more complicated. Derek Knox 26 Posted 20/08/2015 at 07:58:54 Personally, I won't believe anything on this transfer speculation, until he's either been seen in, or near a chippy, in the Goodison Park area. Or, shown in a picture wearing the shirt, and shaking hands, with both Blue Bill and Robbie. Aidy Dews 27 Posted 20/08/2015 at 08:10:19 Last I heard from a mate who hears bits and bats and is really good for his info is that we've been in talks for the past few days with Yarmolenko and the player is really keen to join but it's going to be a tough negotiation with the Kiev president as he wants good money for his key man, regardless of the fact the player wants to leave and as made it known to the president and made it clear publicly and also with him only having a year left on his current deal! The lad doesn't want to stay at Kiev. He's told the president that also. He thinks he's at the age now where he's ready to test himself in a top league in Europe and his preference is the Premier League. He's that eager to come to the Premier League that he was more than willing to join Stoke when they turned to him when they initially were knocked back by Shaqiri but the Kiev president didn't think Stoke were a big enough club for him and knocked their bid back!I'd like to think the Kiev president does think we're a big enough club for him but what I'm hearing mainly is negotiating the fee for him is the stumbling block for us atm. Apparently contract terms between us and Yarmolenko have been agreed.Hopefully we can get this one over the line as he would add some much needed quality to our side in the final third! The lad as pace, can beat a man, see a pass and as goals in him and can potentially be a game changer for us.So let's see how this one unfolds in next week or so?! Petet Henry 28 Posted 20/08/2015 at 08:16:45 Surely we have enough money to cover this deal and the CB. Even then, we might get to 18th in the Premier League spending table... another reason to apply pressure on the Board; Kenwright is an easy target but Woods and Sly's mate Earl also should be held accountable. Brian Porter 29 Posted 20/08/2015 at 08:17:40 Chris Wilson (#14). Exactly, my friend. We must move fast and do the deal before other teams jump on the bandwagon and muddy the waters. Our people need to sit down with him and his club rep, agent, whoever, thrash out a deal both parties can live with, and get him signed. It can be done if both sides enter the room determined to sort it out. I've heard he is quite a knowledgeable guy as well, so hopefully he will have done his homework and knows Everton are the fourth most successful club in England, despite our recent lean years, and Roberto needs to turn on his obvious charm and get the man to buy into his philosophy for the future. If our esteemed manager can do it with Kevin Mirallas, who everyone believed would be on his bike in this window, and similarly with McCarthy, then as long as the fee isn't a problem, and it's all down to personal terms and RM has been given some latitude in that area, I'm hopeful our crafty Catalan can swing it for us. Come on, Roberto, do us proud, and go out all guns blazing to sign possibly the best player we've had a chance of for years! Ste Wallace 30 Posted 20/08/2015 at 08:26:05 Hope this comes off, as mentioned earlier , he tore us a new arsehole. I did read a blog that Tottenham are very worried we got this deal over the line and I wouldn't be surprised if, when a fee is agreed, they try to stump us... let's hope not. Kieran Fitzgerald 31 Posted 20/08/2015 at 08:37:41 Ste, I read somewhere during the week that Spurs are trying to put money aside for their new stadium. It would explain why they have been so quiet in this transfer window. They have been offloading a lot of players but none have come in. I am only assuming that they were hoping to squeeze every last penny out of players like Lennon, who seems to be valued at £9M. They would probably be looking to get an awful lot of cash in through player sales before looking to spend £15M on one player. Overall, most other clubs in our bracket seem to have already spent their cash this window. Maybe there was a plan after all to wait and see what talent was left out there after other clubs had spent their budgets. Avoids getting into a battle for players. Alexander O'Brien 32 Posted 20/08/2015 at 08:38:22 Brilliant post, James Flynn, I completely agree with you. So is this guy going to play as a second striker then? I thought he was a wide man? Kunal Desai 33 Posted 20/08/2015 at 08:49:21 Everton concluding transfer deals quickly? That just doesn't happen. Their medicals take about a month to complete. Great player and one which we very much need. I think he'll leave Kiev but it sadly won't be for Everton. Ste Wallace 34 Posted 20/08/2015 at 09:06:44 Kunal, what makes you think it won't be Everton?? If the guy was more than willing to join Stoke then I don't think joining us would be a worse option. A great player, I would personally get this over the line then say oh what about erm Dragovic... here's hoping. Eric Myles 35 Posted 20/08/2015 at 09:09:08 Kunal, any suspicion of tennis elbow or something that could see us reduce our offered fee and scupper the deal? Erik Dols 36 Posted 20/08/2015 at 09:22:56 Eric, I heard the guy is a walking sicknote - he catches a cold nearly every other three winters. And that in the sunny and warm Ukrainian climate! Blue Bill will surely adjust for this in the negotiations. Erik Dols 37 Posted 20/08/2015 at 09:23:46 Puns aside, I would like this lad to play for us. Ste Wallace 38 Posted 20/08/2015 at 09:25:47 Eric#29 I heard he had cramp in his left leg when he beltered that goal in against us.haha Duncan McDine 39 Posted 20/08/2015 at 09:34:16 If Aidy is right that he only has a year left on his contract, then the figures reported must be waaaay off. I personally don't know anything about him, but don't think I'll trawl YouTube until Everton announce something! Tony Abrahams 40 Posted 20/08/2015 at 09:35:02 I think Chelsea will be the team to gazump us if we don't let them have John Stones!Kieran, Spurs are on an absolute looser with regards to Lennon. I think we might just get our own back after the Steven Pienaar affair. Eivind Nyhus 41 Posted 20/08/2015 at 09:50:08 I would love for this deal to go through. It's a bit of a gamble, but one worth taking. If he flops, we could sell him for a decent amount, I would think. Harold Matthews 42 Posted 20/08/2015 at 10:03:04 Terrific player but where would he operate. His favourite spot is getting a bit crowded. Can't believe the brilliant Florian Thauvin is going to Newcastle for £13M. Erik Dols 43 Posted 20/08/2015 at 10:11:56 Harold, what is his favourite spot exactly? On the right? We indeed have Delofeu and Mirallas. On the other hand, Mirallas can play as the second striker, has played there before. And what I can find on the internet, Yarmolenko can play at both wings and as second striker as well.I would like to see us sign at least one attacking player and Yarmolenko is quite the talent. It is a bit of a gamble seeing that most Ukranians/Russians flop in the premier league. But a gamble I'd like to take. The lad has sheer class. If we don't sell anyone and add Yarmolenko and Mori, I think we actually had a good transfer window. But that's a big if. Phil Walling 44 Posted 20/08/2015 at 10:13:52 Not another winger, surely ? Roberto only ever plays one and they say Lennon's another done deal so what's he about ? Somebody tell me this guy is a proper striker, midfielder or even a bloody goalie......please ! John Jones 45 Posted 20/08/2015 at 10:21:07 I would love this to happen. Paul Cherrington 46 Posted 20/08/2015 at 11:14:26 He is a very good player and on that basis I think we would do well signing him. I know he is another winger when we already have a few but then he can play on either wing or as a second striker (is he the mythical new No 10 we were promised?) so gives us a quality option when we have injuries / loss of form. Andy McNabb 47 Posted 20/08/2015 at 12:47:09 We are funny! If the Express talks about Stones moving to Chelsea, then it is all "lazy journo rubbish."If the Express states we are close to a deal for Yarmolenko, then we are quoting them and "hope this one will happen." !!Who would be a football supporter, eh?! Alex Parr 48 Posted 20/08/2015 at 12:53:26 I would love us to sign Yarmolenko. Great player and reviewing a YouTube vid reminded me of how much he ripped the piss out of us last season. Other than Kagawa and Podolski earlier this season, I haven't been this excited about a potential transfer since we entered the loan-race for Big Rom two years ago. Dave Pritchard 49 Posted 20/08/2015 at 13:02:45 Agree, Andy. There is no need to get angry with papers like the Express when they say one of our players is going or get excited when they say we are signing someone. Just ignore them at all times. Jackie Barry 50 Posted 20/08/2015 at 13:12:52 I heard Yarmolenko can play left side, right side and through the middle. Christopher Wallace 51 Posted 20/08/2015 at 13:17:03 This signing (provided it happens and nobody leaves) could transform us from looking like certain also-rans, to genuine contenders for top 4.With his attributes, he can play left, right, or central. Great set-pieces and an eye for a goal - spectacular ones at that. Also, top assists in Europa league last season. He's been the golden boy of Ukrainian footy for a while now. He's bagged a few player of the year awards as well, up against boys like Willian, Luiz Adriano, Douglas Costa, Srna, Fernandinho, etc.Love this to happen, and hopefully he is the reason that we weren't too serious with our approach for Shaqiri. Christopher Wallace 52 Posted 20/08/2015 at 13:21:55 Dave/AndyThe issues with the Stones' stories is that they are fabricating stories to unsettle the player, as if Mourinho had them attached to strings.Stories like the player has agreed terms with Stones, the player wants to go, and Everton are just holding out for £32m blah blah blah. Yarmolenko has a year left and has stated his intention to leave. Stones has 4 left, has kept a dignified silence, other than to state how happy he is at Everton and looking forward to a good season.Completely different in my opinion. Christopher Wallace 53 Posted 20/08/2015 at 13:24:59 *agreed terms with chelsea* obviously Christopher Wallace 54 Posted 20/08/2015 at 13:24:59 *agreed terms with chelsea* obviously Harold Matthews 55 Posted 20/08/2015 at 13:48:38 I'm surprised United haven't stepped in and paid the money for Stones, especially with Chelsea deliberately nicking Pedro. Danny Halsall 56 Posted 20/08/2015 at 14:16:23 Do we think any potential deal for this guy will go to the last day of the window? Alan Humphreys 57 Posted 20/08/2015 at 14:39:36 Pedro going to Manure rumours abound.Out of the blue, Chelsea announce fee agreed last night.Next day. Pedro signed for Chelsea.Everton... considering, mulling over, having a wee look see... Ernie Baywood 58 Posted 20/08/2015 at 14:42:54 Yes Alan, I'm struggling to think of any occasion where Chelsea have had a protracted, drawn out transfer target... Christopher Wallace 59 Posted 20/08/2015 at 15:13:10 Good one Ernie!Though Alan was possibly pointing out what happens when a team (Manure in his example) dither and don't get things done quickly. E.g Spurs nip in and snap up Yarmolenko from under our noses. Martin O'Sullivan 60 Posted 20/08/2015 at 15:51:02 Can't help but think this just isn't how a typical Everton transfer goes!! We usually get it done behind closed doors as quietly as possible. This has dragged on for weeks now, so fingers crossed we get him, but it just seems a little fishy to me, so not quite getting the shirt printed just yet??? Dave Paul 61 Posted 20/08/2015 at 16:07:00 Would love to see it happen....but NEVER will. Dealing with the region is just too difficult and I think he has 3rd party ownership which just fucks it up even more. Also the top bod there stated he will only let him go to a top club...well they twatted us so I don't think he will see us as a bigger club. Would love it to happen, really would, but it won't... get ready for Lennon and injury prone Evans on deadline day and that's it. Shaun Traynor 62 Posted 20/08/2015 at 17:16:25 I've heard that we are short by 1k!!! So, Bill and Jenny have both put in a Wonga loan application and are just waiting to hear back. Fingers crossed!!! Eivind Nyhus 63 Posted 20/08/2015 at 17:20:45 Agreed Dave. This would be a great signing, but I cannot see it happening. David Chait 66 Posted 20/08/2015 at 17:45:12 Watched his YouTube video for first time.. Almost as impressive as Bilyaletdinovs which is saying something. It would definitely have us dreaming of possibilities again! Ian Glassey 67 Posted 20/08/2015 at 17:52:39 David 57, almost as impressive as Bilyaletdinov's You Tube are you having a laugh. Yarmolenko is 100 times better and more so on You Tube. Gordon Crawford 68 Posted 20/08/2015 at 18:43:55 Dave (54) we have hope mate. :-). If we sign crap, then we can moan, but lets see first who we sign. And for all these people who say we are not a big club, they are truly talking crap. We are a huge club, history confirms this. It's just that we are badly managed and have been for decades. Danny Halsall 69 Posted 20/08/2015 at 19:11:31 Video now of Phil Kirkbride explaining that EFC are willing to meet Yarmolenko's buyout fee of €20M, and that club officials have travelled to Monaco to begin to thrash out a deal. Also says that Ukranian clubs are notoriously hard to negotiate with so they will drive a hard bargain, but the signs are looking good. He thinks that any deal will probably take up until the deadline to get over the line, so don't expect a swift conclusion. Never straightforward with Everton is it! Jim Lloyd 71 Posted 20/08/2015 at 19:27:25 We won't have any in until about 5 minutes (maybe less) before the deadline. Hope he comes though, it'll be like the time we got Kanchelskis. Only this lad, we keep please! Chris Gould 72 Posted 20/08/2015 at 20:32:35 We all to often link ourselves to a couple of exciting signings and then make excuses when it doesn't happen. I think our main aim is to keep everyone we have and then pad the squad with Lennon, a backup cb, and one other. But that doesn't stop me hoping! James E Evans 73 Posted 20/08/2015 at 20:34:08 I'm sad to say it, but this deal is a pipe dream. It'll never happen. Deep down we all know we have no money. Kelvin Thomas 74 Posted 20/08/2015 at 20:37:19 Aidy, excellent info. Keep us posted.Fingers crossed on this one. Colin Glassar 75 Posted 20/08/2015 at 20:39:33 Even auntie beeb are reporting on this now. Could it be? Could it just be? John Crook 77 Posted 20/08/2015 at 20:48:05 Apparently Yarmelonko's agent is the same one Lukaku started to use earlier this year, the one he said he never would of let his client sign for Everton. This deal will be far from straight forward! Kelvin Thomas 78 Posted 20/08/2015 at 20:48:48 Please Everton don't piss about. £15m is peanuts for this guy. Pay it, get it done before the un-named clubs do just that! Colin Glassar 79 Posted 20/08/2015 at 20:49:35 Apparently talks have already started in Monaco, John. Jason Thomas 80 Posted 20/08/2015 at 20:51:54 Trigger the release clause. Offer the wages he wants and get him in. No dithering. We've just seen what happens when you dither. The fee and wages will be irrelevant in a few years anyway. Dominic Tonge 81 Posted 20/08/2015 at 21:04:51 Colin, any info on this? Petet Henry 82 Posted 20/08/2015 at 21:07:10 I'd rather we got our business done early... but if it means we get quality in like Yarmelenko, then it is worth waiting. I still think Lennon will be added or perhaps even a loan to get him off Spurs' wage budget. Jason Thomas 83 Posted 20/08/2015 at 21:14:31 SSN just reported we've agreed a fee for him! Come on! Mark Riding 84 Posted 20/08/2015 at 21:17:16 The plane has woke the board up. Craig Fletcher 85 Posted 20/08/2015 at 21:17:22 If we get Yarmolenko, and for the record I think it would be a brilliant signing, surely that will mean the end is nigh for McGeady, or even perhaps Pienaar?I just can't see how much game time either would get if they have to compete with Deulofeu, Miralles, Osman, Cleverley, Kone, Barkley, and possibly Yarmolenko, that's a lot of players to pick from for the three forward positions behind Lukaku. And I haven't even started counting the up-and-coming young 'uns like Dowell, etc. Eugene Kearney 86 Posted 20/08/2015 at 21:24:24 Buy him..... Clive Rogers 87 Posted 20/08/2015 at 21:29:20 It's the end for Pienaar anyway, his body has had enough. Robin Cannon 88 Posted 20/08/2015 at 21:30:37 @Craig (70) - Yeah, you'd have to think so. I would imagine a farewell to McGeady - not that I'm going to shed many tears over that.I do find it funny that even when we are heavily linked with someone left footed, it's still a right sided winger/forward whatever. That's Deulofeu, Mirallas and Yarmolenko who would a) all be among our top players and b) all right sided midfielders. Petet Henry 89 Posted 20/08/2015 at 21:31:17 I agree with Clive; Pienaar is finished and has in truth been so for a season or two... McGeady will also likely be sold. Adam Luszniak 90 Posted 20/08/2015 at 21:34:38 Is this Roberto's number 10? I'm not complaining just wondering where he will play. As Robin states we're well stocked on the right of midfield. Paul Hewitt 91 Posted 20/08/2015 at 21:38:59 This is Everton. Let's not get to excited till he signs. Paul Thompson 93 Posted 20/08/2015 at 21:55:58 I hope the Editors are keeping a list of all the posters who claim this is NEVER going to happen. Experience has taught me to keep expectations low, but I do think this is a genuine attempt to sign Yarmelonko. However, indications are that there are a number of obstacles. If he does come (he can play on either wing or as a number 10), he could make a major difference to our season. It's the hope that kills ya. Kelvin Thomas 94 Posted 20/08/2015 at 21:57:53 Mirallas on the left, Yarmalenko No 10, Deulofeu right side.McCarthy and Barks CM! Awsome. Neil Wood 95 Posted 20/08/2015 at 21:59:19 I'm very nervous.... I think he's made for Premier League football.Come on!!!!! Alex Jones 96 Posted 20/08/2015 at 21:59:28 Mirallas is a left sided midfielder and Deloufeu is completely unproven and will be a backup to each of them. We defo need him imo. We also need a cb and a striker and then I'll be happy with our window. Brin Williams 97 Posted 20/08/2015 at 22:04:32 'We also need a cb and a striker and then I'll be happy with our window.'Is that all we need now - last time I looked at TW about an hour ago we still needed Bill out, a buyer, a new ground a cuddly toy and a yogurt maker..ffs. Dan Nulty 98 Posted 20/08/2015 at 22:07:33 Does anyone else just scroll through all these comments looking for Colin Glassar to confirm or deny these reports!?! Kelvin Thomas 99 Posted 20/08/2015 at 22:12:58 Yes Dan, Colin or Jim White on SNN! Stephen Brown 100 Posted 20/08/2015 at 22:13:52 Being off work during the transfer window and supporting Everton. A foolproof way of going grey quickly! Instead of my normal 25 visits a day to TW I think I'm averaging 250 plus Twitter in case of an update on a bloke I've never really heard of!! Although YouTube footage reminded me of goal in Europe last year. Hope we sign him as will give everyone a big lift! Paul Harnett 101 Posted 20/08/2015 at 22:19:21 You think!!! Watch the videos - he is one the best players in the world. Surely will go to Champions League team. If Everton get him then I'm off to every game. Unbelievable. Paul Jeronovich 105 Posted 20/08/2015 at 22:40:48 Rumour has it the main problem is the installment amounts for the fee. We obviously want to pay it over 20 years while Kiev would like the bulk over two. Same old story if true. Don Alexander 106 Posted 20/08/2015 at 22:46:18 Like Dave Chait (57) I too have I taken a look at YouTube and the defences were BLOODY AWFUL in most of his goals. With Krøldrup, Bilyaletdinov was by miles our most mystifying, disappointing, expensive signing (even including that work-shy thug Ferguson) so I just hope that we, for once, have done "due diligence" before parting with most of our transfer kitty for yonks to come. Chris Gould 107 Posted 20/08/2015 at 22:51:57 Kelvin, your dream lineup would be suicidal. I want them all in the same squad, but not the same team. Not unless we're chasing the game with 10 mins to go. Getting a bit ahead of ourselves. Really hope we get him... but not confident. Charlie Burnett 108 Posted 20/08/2015 at 22:53:25 Paul, "One of the best players in the world"?Give me a pint of whatever you're drinking, Paul, please. McGeady looks amazing on YouTube mate. Conor Skelly 109 Posted 20/08/2015 at 23:01:07 Lukaku Mirallas Barkley Yarmelenko McCarthy Cleverley Waiting in the wings: Deulofeu. Sorry, I just wanted to write that out. Conor Skelly 110 Posted 20/08/2015 at 23:10:59 If we get this guy and keep Stones. Big If. But I'd see us a good keeper away from being serious players this year. Top 3 should be our aim. Barry McNally 111 Posted 20/08/2015 at 23:12:58 Dan @ 84, use Find On Page "Glassar" is a lot easier than scrolling! Hope we get this guy, he was awesome against us in away leg. Denis Richardson 113 Posted 20/08/2015 at 23:24:39 Genuine class player and would certainly improve the team. I do have to wonder though if he was actually a long term target or is being looked at because he's one of the few class midfielders (we could afford) still left available?Given we have about 10 senior midfielders and have signed Deulofeu and given Mirallas a new contract and seem to now be fixed on Ross playing in the 10 role and presumably will continue to use Kone as one of the AMs.......can't imagine Yamolenko was on the radar a few weeks back.Wonder if the little plane above St Marys had anything to do with speeding up the 'intent' to which we're looking at him.Apologies for being cynical but the guy would obviously be one of our best players if we got him (which is still far from certain). However, IF we do sign him I do wonder that that means for a few of our other midfielders. By all means sign class players if the opportunity arises but we still don't really have a back up for Lukaku or Coleman and are still painfully thin at CB.Hopefully not the only movement before the window shuts...... Brian Cleveland 114 Posted 20/08/2015 at 00:06:54 Danny and Colin, why are the talks in Monaco, is it a jolly for those concerned or somewhere for agents to hide their ill gotten gains? "I'd like that castle up there please, don't bother with the banks, here's a nice fat envelope, should do the trick..." Teddy Bertin 115 Posted 21/08/2015 at 00:53:14 if I hadn't watched him destroy us last season then I'd say he looks no more than slightly above average from his YouTube clips. I'm always wary of show reels that have to show the same goal 3 times to fill out a 2 min video (and countless outrageous bits of skill with no end result). One of his 'highlights' is a great one-two that he then puts wide. We know he has a great left foot and would undoubtedly be a great addition but I wouldn't be so sure that he'll be the big step up that some are imagining. Song would be a safer bet and probably cheaper. Proven in the EPL, unsung hero for WHU last season and a number of quite brilliant assists in his last season at Arsenal before he went to Barca. Ben Dyke 116 Posted 21/08/2015 at 00:58:19 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vvV_TmB6yG0This guy is mint. Gavin Johnson 117 Posted 21/08/2015 at 01:03:09 Can anyone still see us buying Aaron Lennon if we get this deal over the line?? James Marshall 118 Posted 21/08/2015 at 03:33:08 If we do buy him, we're going to have some serious midfield options this season, which would also mean the ability to play numerous formations as well - if El Bob actually going to be the new tinkerman, or is his masterplan starting to come to fruition?I'm as pessimistic as a lot of people appear to be about this deal, but if (IF) it comes off.....and the Mori deal (if he's any good)......and maybe a striker.....if we can get one...That was a lot of 'ifs'... Craig Fletcher 119 Posted 21/08/2015 at 03:51:35 I know Roberto mentioned it but I'm not sure we need another striker, James. Between Lukaku, a rejuvanated Kone, Naismith, McAleny, and Miralles who can play just off a main striker, we have options. If we get him (touch wood) Yarmalenko can also play behind a striker, or so I've read.Defence I'm more worried about. Behind Jags and Stones, we have only the kids, Browning, Holgate and Galloway. With Hibbo's injuries at RB I'm inclined to think Browning may be first-choice back-up to Coleman too. Zachary Tanner 120 Posted 21/08/2015 at 05:21:18 He sure has a knack for finding the far post with his left foot, but... does he have a right foot too? I have’t seen too much of him, but I worry how he’ll adapt to the higher quality of the Premier League if he’s too one-dimensional. 㾻 million is no small transfer for us -- if I had a say, I think I’d prefer a true playmaking No 10 for that sum. Peter Howard 121 Posted 21/08/2015 at 05:42:21 Zachary (#103),Presumably, you don't think Kevin Sheedy nor Liam Brady (to name but two) would have made it in today's, ahem, highly skilled Premier League? David Chait 122 Posted 21/08/2015 at 05:56:22 Hehe Ian #58... ya I was having a laugh.. I can see that my last sentence could be construed as sarcasm based on my comment about Youtube.. This is the signing I have wanted all summer.. went on record I didnt want Shaqiri so I hope this is the one we have had in the back pocket all the time. Conor Like your thinking.. mine is:.............Lukaku..........Mirallas Yarmolenko Deulofeu.......Barkley...Cleverley.......But I think yours probably makes sense with Deulofeu waiting in the wings - pun of the year! William Cartwright 123 Posted 21/08/2015 at 06:40:37 I keep on hoping it comes about and then we keep hold of JS. If so, together with the Argie centre back, then extremely well done Roberto, well done. I see The Sun today back page leads with the liner "John Stones will hand in a transfer request to force through a move to Chelsea..." Haven't they already crossed the line and moreso with this approach? Surely this has to be illegal to some extent, making inflammatory confirmations at a personal level which could arguably undermine the employee / employer contract agreement that exists? Why were there never any newspaper reports that attempted to undermine Liverpool during the Sterling transfer I wonder...? Brian Williams 124 Posted 21/08/2015 at 06:42:57 Zachary. With regard to how he'll adapt. He certainly didn't need to adapt to absolutely destroy us now did he?No matter that it wasn't in the Premier League – he showed just how good he is, end of. Hugh Jenkins 125 Posted 21/08/2015 at 07:38:35 William (105) The reason is that the journalists in question are primarily RS supporters to a man. They would not see Sterling moving to Man City as being an improvement, whereas they do see Stones to Chelsea as such. They have not yet come to terms with the fact that in the current iteration of the EPL, Liverpool have become an irrelevance and under their present management will continue to be mediocre performers hovering around the mid-table places between 10th and 5th – much like us over the past ten year – for different reasons. However, I do believe we are now "building for the future" and we have a very promising crop of young talent coming through the ranks. If we can supplement these with the occasional "class" addition, like Yarmolenko, I think the future looks very bright. That is why, as all costs, we must keep hold of Stones and build around him, Lukaku, Barkley, Browning, Galloway, Garbutt, Deulofeu, Besic, McCarthy, Cleverly et al.I am not certain, but I think that, apart from Cleverly and possibly McCarthy, none of the others have yet turned 22 years old. What a great foundation for the future! Abhishek Saha 127 Posted 21/08/2015 at 08:40:27 I believe that Rob Elstone is presently in Monaco discussing terms for Yarmolenko. Paul Smith 128 Posted 21/08/2015 at 08:46:12 What a fuckin' signing if it comes off. Darren Bailey 129 Posted 21/08/2015 at 09:18:51 Gavin #101 - Re:- Lennon. I think we will (hope we do) still go for him but only on loan. My reasoning behind that is that if RM really wanted him he would be at the club now. Maybe Martinez is waiting until Spurs are desperate to get him of the wage bill which will mean a deadline day loan. That's my guess. I know he's only got one year left on his contract but Spurs don't want him and unless someone comes in (Villa) with a concrete offer I think a loan deal could be done for a nominal fee and no wages for Spurs to pay for the last year of his contract. Makes sense on paper but you never know. He's better than McGeady so that deal gets my vote. A combination of Yarmolenko (?), Mirallas, Barkley and Deulofeu will most probably be our best attacking options but with Lennon as well I think the strength in depth would be more notable than it has been in the past. Jay Woods 130 Posted 21/08/2015 at 09:26:58 This, if it comes to pass, it would certainly quell my annoyance over the Shaqiri loss. And if the plane at Southampton played a part (unlikely though that seems to me), then well done the plane guys. BUT... if it's to placate Evertonian wrath in the wake of a Stones transfer, then it still means as much – if not more – than ever that Kenwright and his crew must go. Thomas Surgenor 131 Posted 21/08/2015 at 09:41:23 From what limited amount of him I've seen, he is a left footed player who likes to cut inside but is also capable of playing on the left.He also was the best player on the park against us.What worries me though, is that this name is always branded about yet no one has ever followed through on their interest.Milan, Roma, Chelsea, Liverpool, Spurs... to name but a few; have all expressed interest in the past but never felt the need to follow it up.To me that suggests that;a) there are issues with the boyb) he might not be cut out for the leaguec) his agent is a mouth who flaunts him to every club (through the media) in the land trying to get him a deal.I'm very pessimistic about anything coming from these rumours.I would love us to sign a recognised name and talent such as he but I just can't see this one coming off. I think we might even be too big a move for him. Helen Mallon 132 Posted 21/08/2015 at 09:41:41 If there is anyone going to the city game and needs a banner headline here it is. John Stones come out and tell us if your staying or going, the fans deserve this at least. All this transfer talk can be finished if he just comes out and says it. Tony Abrahams 134 Posted 21/08/2015 at 09:44:04 Darren, do you think Lennon, would rejoin Everton, on loan? I don't. I think if he comes to Everton, it will be a permenant transfer.Got to agree with you Jay, and the worry is exactly what you say. Stones going after handing in a transfer request would be a total farce, to me. If this was the case, then surely he would have handed in a request as soon as Chelsea come calling. Imagine Mouriniho during his first training session shouting "why didn't you put in a transfer request when we bid £20 Million for you, you fucking daft twat". Ciaran Duff 135 Posted 21/08/2015 at 09:52:52 Looking at his highlights and the game against us, he is obviously very skillful. Also very left footed, although he put in a few crosses with his right, but really seems to like playing on the right and drifting in for a curling shot to the far post. Wonder how he'd go in the centre or on the left? Danny Halsall 136 Posted 21/08/2015 at 09:54:08 Thomas, I think he reason that Yarmolenko hasn't gone to one of the clubs that you have mentioned is because of the Kiev owners. Igor Surkis, has publicly stated that he would have no intention of selling Yarmolenko unless it was to a top club, which I believe Everton are. I think the reason that we are making headway on signing him now is because he is in the last year of his contract and they are worried he will walk for nothing next summer. I know there are rumours he has a release clause, but these Eastern European teams are notoriously hard to deal with and I would guess there is something in Yarmolenko's contract that has made it easy for the Kiev owners to keep him there in previous seasons. I personally reckon that we have come in for him at the right time.In terms of a lack of interest from other teams, I think that is down to their spending already, coupled with the types of players they actually need. Take Chelsea for example: they have spent on Pedro already and they also have Hazard, Willian, Oscar, Cuadrado, Moses and even possibly Remy who can operate in all of the attacking midfield roles. We NEED a player like Yarmolenko, which is the difference. Andrew Ellams 137 Posted 21/08/2015 at 09:54:14 Tony, maybe Everton agreed with Stones that they would push the fee as high as possible before he handed in any sort of request. Still don't see it happening though. Chris Leyland 138 Posted 21/08/2015 at 09:55:49 Tony Abrahams - why would Stones have handed in a transfer request as soon as Chelsea came calling?A transfer request is a last resort for a player and an agent due to the way that a contract is structured and the contractual penalties that would be incurred for handing in a transfer. Therefore an agent would be advising his player not to do it unless they absolutely have to. If the player really wants to go, then the agent would be advising them to sit tight and see if the clubs can agree a fee or not. If the selling club are asking too much or don't want to sell and the transfer deadline is approaching, should the player want to leave, then and only then would the advice be to hand in a transfer request to try and force the hand of the selling club. Iain Latchford 139 Posted 21/08/2015 at 11:00:26 I watched a programme last night on quantum physics. The general gist was that nothing exists until you look at it. So when you're not looking at the moon it isn't really there. Therefore, I'll believe this is happening when I see him at Goodison holding a scarf, and even then I'll expect it to go tits up the second I look away. Tony Abrahams 140 Posted 21/08/2015 at 11:39:50 Thanks Chris, you have explained it perfectly. "EVERY PENNY COUNTS",Andrew this is Everton, and football in general, alls we can mostly do is speculate. Simon Bates 141 Posted 21/08/2015 at 11:46:55 I said last night on another site, which is saying the only stumbling block is Everton wanting to pay in installments whilst Dynamo Kiev want a 'significant sum' upfront. Paul Smith 142 Posted 21/08/2015 at 11:51:17 There are people on Twitter now saying Yarmolenko has agreed personal terms; believe this if you wish but it sounds so close. Then again... this is Everton and you just don't know until he is wearing the shirt. James Stewart 145 Posted 21/08/2015 at 12:54:45 Really hope that is true Paul. He would completely change my predication for our season if we sign him. Class player who will win games with his magic. Reminds me of Robben with his speed and demon left foot. Kerry Frahm 146 Posted 21/08/2015 at 14:10:29 I don't mind if the big Yarmolenko can only shoot left or across the keeper. He shoots early, moves the ball quickly and isn't afraid to go toe to toe with the opposition.Last season we looked scared and appeared to turn away from every tight situation. This guy could be the key to unlock strong defences. I think he'd be a quality addition. COYB Mark Riding 147 Posted 21/08/2015 at 14:20:45 This is on. Phil Walling 148 Posted 21/08/2015 at 15:18:14 New kid on the block and Delboy who was seen as a wonder signing just a month ago is relegated to the supporting cast. Fickle us TWers aren't we ? Ged Simpson 149 Posted 21/08/2015 at 15:22:17 A welcome at Goodison on Sunday ?Nah - too clever Iain Latchford 150 Posted 21/08/2015 at 15:38:53 Just been watching YouTube. I know you have to take everything with a pinch of salt, but when you consider Burnley are signing player from Brentford for £9m, then £15m for this guy is an absolute bargain !! Really hope this happens. Danny Halsall 151 Posted 21/08/2015 at 16:32:38 I know nothing is set in stone yet, but I haven't been this excited about a signing for a very long time. I think this guy 'could' be a real game changer for us! This coupled with nobody 'yet' leaving is a real plus. I know that there is 2 weeks of the window left but I am feeling surprisingly optimistic (touch wood). Ged Simpson 152 Posted 21/08/2015 at 16:36:33 Me too, Danny. Drew Shortis 153 Posted 21/08/2015 at 16:43:40 Phil Walling (#129), Mirallas and Deulofeu are not going to be fit for every match this season, will have dips in form, will need rest, will get bans. It's all about the squad nowadays and I would be happy if we managed to get Yarmalenko AND Lennon. Signing Yarmalenko is in no way a slight on Gerard. Four first-team capable wide men is a must for any team that wants to challenge for trophies. Yarmalenko can also play in the AMC position giving us cover /competition for Barkley and Naismith. Greg Mckerracher 154 Posted 21/08/2015 at 16:54:42 His stats are seriously impressive. 19 goals in 49 caps at international level for a floating winger/playmaker? 3 goals in 5 already this season and the Europa League's "assist king". Diniyar Bilyaletdinov this fella is not. Sam Hoare 155 Posted 21/08/2015 at 17:03:19 Phil 129, I'm not sure Del boy was seen as a wonder signing. An exciting and good value deal but everyone knows he's not the finished article. Unlike Yarmolenko. The Ukranian may take some time to adapt but he scores and creates goals at quite some rate. There's no sure bets but I reckon he would become a firm favourite and could even put us back into top 4 contention. He has something we have lacked since Pienaar's demise and Arteta's leaving which is an intelligence and awareness to unlock tight defences. He could be our Silva/Coutinho/Mata type player. Fingers crossed. Rob Dolby 156 Posted 21/08/2015 at 18:19:44 How about getting someone who also knows how to link play and defend. We have enough players who are allegic to defending. Colin Glassar 157 Posted 21/08/2015 at 18:32:03 Brian 98, Monaco is halfwayish I suppose and the duty free is supposed to be very good. I just hope the deal isn't done on Abramovitch's yacht. Brent Stephens 158 Posted 21/08/2015 at 18:47:54 Hope we bring him home on our yacht not Abramovich's.I was in Hong Kong a few years ago and a HK Chinese business colleague was telling me about his brother and his family going from HK to Australia on his "yak". Took a wee while to realise he was mispronouncing "yacht".Maybe we could at least invest in a yak? Hey, we had one! Didn't feed him enough though. Colin Glassar 159 Posted 21/08/2015 at 18:52:38 Brent, as far as I know BK doesn't possess a yacht but he does have an inflatable dolphin he bought in Woolworth's in 1976 before he went on his first foreign holiday to Rhyl. Somehow I can't see Yarmolenko fancying using BK's blow up. John Otway 161 Posted 21/08/2015 at 19:08:05 Phil Walling 128. It's what we call a squad! Your constant negativity is utterly draining. Colin Glassar 162 Posted 21/08/2015 at 19:15:58 Phil's just got a bit of sunstroke John. It must be tough being a tax exile. Jack Cross 163 Posted 21/08/2015 at 19:26:26 Yarmolenko, signed. Alan Bodell 164 Posted 21/08/2015 at 20:44:22 I hope we trust the folk who know best about signing this lad, a lot of our money and yes I saw him rip us apart last season but not many Eastern European players match up to their promise in our league.Schevchenko and Rebrov tore through teams until they arrived here, Bilyaletdinov never made it and to think only the one that has is Andre Kanchelskis so this is a big gamble that I pray takes off... and it may well do because he ripped us to pieces last time.Half of this is settling in, there isn't a large Ukrainian community where he can feel at home here, so... Kim Vivian 165 Posted 21/08/2015 at 21:32:02 Colin, Brent – they could always use Philip Green's. My nephew works on that. Tasty. Google 'superyacht Lionheart'... Danny Halsall 166 Posted 21/08/2015 at 21:37:27 Don't know how many people would be interested, or people may have already seen this but found highlights of Dynamo's first game of this season. Interesting video, Yarmolenko looks a different class to everyone else on the pitch, in fact it looks as though it is too easy for him. Definitely needs a new challenge with the blues!https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i62pv_yONOI Brian Cleveland 167 Posted 21/08/2015 at 21:40:28 And Monaco is also closer to Italy... and Roma... who are also interested are they not... (worried expression). Eugene Ruane 169 Posted 21/08/2015 at 21:51:09 '..oh yeah I LOVE beetroot me, anything with beetroot. Cabbage with beetroot, boiled potatoes with beetroot...love it! Tell you what else I like - snow. I know a lot of people can't stand it, but to me, winter isn't winter without a bit of snow, know what I mean? Just a sprinkling like, I'm not talking about three foot of it every night. Tell you what I can't stand though, them big furry hats. I know they're traditional all all that, but your head gets to hot in them and you look a twat. I prefer those..."Yarmolenko talks still ongoing. Eugene Ruane 170 Posted 21/08/2015 at 21:52:28 (I hate to correct him but it's 'too' hot.) Guy Hastings 171 Posted 21/08/2015 at 21:59:37 Eugene - above all, beetroot to yourself. Conor Skelly 172 Posted 21/08/2015 at 22:03:26 If his team-mates are confident enough in him to ping the ball out to him on the edge of the box to volley first time from a corner (as seen in Danny's video), that's good enough for me. Peter Barry 173 Posted 22/08/2015 at 05:23:28 So on the one hand we dismiss out of hand the 'meejah' talk about Stones and on the other hand blindly believe the 'meejah' talk about Yarmolenko - you go figure. Brin Williams 174 Posted 22/08/2015 at 11:08:53 Eugene 148 - So you like beetroot, I like cabbage. In fact I like cabbage so much I would have a pitch full of them. Danny Halsall 175 Posted 22/08/2015 at 15:20:00 Apparently Yarmolenko starting for Dynamo today so deal probably not as close as we would hope... Colin Glassar 176 Posted 22/08/2015 at 15:31:53 Alan B, in all fairness to Schevchenko he arrived injured and was playing for a manager (Mourinho) who didn't want him. Mourinho was quite clear that it wasn't his decision to buy him and he didn't need him!! This was the beginning of the end for the Special One Mk I.As for Rebrov, a similar problem at Spurs. I think he was bought by one manager who was almost immediately sacked and was then sent to Coventry by the next manager. So in both players' cases, their faces didn't fit.Bilyaletdinov was played out of position by OFM and was crap anyway. Has he retired?Back to Yarmolenko, it has always been suggested that this will go to the wire. These buggers are tough negotiators. Brian Williams 177 Posted 22/08/2015 at 15:54:04 Just seen Yarmolenko in McdDonalds on County Road. Asked for extra cabbage with his Happy Meal.... honest! Phil Rodgers 178 Posted 22/08/2015 at 18:21:07 Got a feeling this is one of those transfers that we have no intention of completing... like Negredo or many others down the years. Greg Mckerracher 179 Posted 22/08/2015 at 18:30:39 I would note for the record that Yarmolenko did play today, and he scored a hat-trick and completely ran the show. I have now heard from 4 people that Funes Mori is iffy. "Iffy" is the diplomatic word for absolute shit. Yarmo is an absolute must. It is a signing that must happen. It's almost a signing that shouldn't be happening, because he is almost the type of player who should be signing for Juve or Roma – rejoice if we get this over the line. He will revolutionise the "golden generation" project. John Otway 180 Posted 22/08/2015 at 18:32:08 Phil Rodgers 156. Is everyone called Phil so utterly negative?? Phil Rodgers 181 Posted 22/08/2015 at 18:36:52 I made an observation on an open forum, Jesus. Chris Wilson 182 Posted 22/08/2015 at 18:45:14 My worry about Yarmolenko is that we do all the leg work establishing fees and wages, then someone swoops in like Souness did to us at Newcastle, or Redknapp when he was at Spurs. I swear Harry was hiding in the bushes at a player's house waiting for Moyes to leave before he'd swoop in, "How much are they offering — I'll double it!" I could see Chelsea, Liverpool, etc jumping in saying thank you for paving the road for us. Or worse, Yarmolenko dubious agent making one last phone call to one of those teams and making one last pitch for a bigger payday... for himself. And let's see Funes Mori before we render judgment. He might turn out to be "iffy", but let's give him some time. I worry this kid makes one tiny little mistake, and suddenly folks rip him apart. Jim Lloyd 183 Posted 22/08/2015 at 18:47:37 He must have been in the County Rd one. The reply was "Cabbage! You avin a laff! Yer get cabbage with yer Sunday Roast... an it's Satdee!" Dick'ead! Mike Powell 185 Posted 22/08/2015 at 19:03:14 Yarmolenko has just scored twice for Kiev... so how is he in talks with Everton? Peter Bell 186 Posted 22/08/2015 at 19:17:14 Kiev won 3-0, two for Veloso and Yarmalenko on 53 minutes Frank Crewe 187 Posted 22/08/2015 at 19:26:58 To quote Elvis. "A little less conversation a little more action please". Seems to be taking a long time to get a yay or nay from this guy. Barry McNally 188 Posted 22/08/2015 at 19:54:02 Kyiv won 6-0 away from home in the cup today, our man got a hat-trick. Why was he playing? Mike Manchester 189 Posted 22/08/2015 at 19:56:46 Did anyone watch the game? Was there a goodbye wave from our man at the end? Colin Glassar 190 Posted 22/08/2015 at 20:15:02 After scoring his third goal he lifted his shirt and on his vest was written, "Once a Blue, always a Blue." In Ukrainian, of course. Sandra Williams 191 Posted 22/08/2015 at 20:26:08 Jose wasn't on the touchline to shake his hand and welcome him to Chelski, was he?! Terence Tipler 192 Posted 22/08/2015 at 20:26:50 Is Robert still in Monaco? Danny Halsall 193 Posted 22/08/2015 at 20:37:01 He was asked a question about Everton at the end of the game in an interview and he said "I need to run" and laughed. Read into that what you will... John Otway 194 Posted 22/08/2015 at 20:49:46 Phil Rodgers 159. So did I. If you can't stand the heat etc. Kind of you but I'm not Jesus Spragg Johnson 195 Posted 22/08/2015 at 20:52:06 If this deal goes through ... I'll be as surprised as I was with the Lukaku announcement last season. Most Toffees are naturally pessimistic when big name transfers are mooted. I'd love to think this will happen... But the grumpy old man in me is resigned to thinking we're more of a 'McGeady club' than a 'Yarmolenko club' when it comes to transfers. I sincerely hope to be proved wrong. Conor Skelly 196 Posted 22/08/2015 at 20:57:57 I'm resigned now to the idea we are not getting him. Anything else will be a massive surprise. Spragg Johnson 197 Posted 22/08/2015 at 21:15:57 Keep well away from Twitter ... Updates every minute - all of which are complete fantasy. One twelve year old calling himself 'Thetoffeeforum.com' has the lad having "agreed personal terms" ... Utter pish. Brian Cleveland 198 Posted 22/08/2015 at 21:38:33 And the goals from that 6 - 0 win.... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=trI5Ynt9ZVUGoals 2, 4 and 6. Brian Cleveland 199 Posted 22/08/2015 at 22:15:26 ... and I forgot to mention... I think he got assists for goals 1, 3 and 5 too! Neil Riddell 200 Posted 23/08/2015 at 06:51:40 Yes...sounds great, but surprising - a lot of money for another winger. Roberto said at the beginning of the summer his top priority was a top class No 10, a midfield playmaker, which would surely make sense given our performances last season. So, is he thinking of using Yarmolenko as his new No 10 playmaker? It could, potentially and hopefully, be a brilliant move. Neil Riddell 202 Posted 23/08/2015 at 07:33:18 Wow...I've just seen the video of him playing...dreaming of him being the next Zinedine Zidane for us! Paul Whittaker 203 Posted 23/08/2015 at 07:35:25 I wouldn't read too much into Yarmolenko playing yesterday. John Stones is playing for us today.... Ralph Basnett 204 Posted 23/08/2015 at 07:56:40 Not going to happen now, just dragging on for too long. Colin Glassar 205 Posted 23/08/2015 at 08:05:56 In his post-match interview, he was asked why Everton and not the RS or Spurs. His laconic, one word answer was – Hibbo.Yarmolenko is big into carp fishing and our Hibbo is First Dan or Master Jedi (or whatever they're called) when it comes to fishing for carp. Steve Cotton 206 Posted 23/08/2015 at 09:54:02 I think we are dragging this out to see if we can get Man Utd and a few others jumping in late on. That's the Everton way. This should have been sorted last week and we should be parading him before the City game.Get it sorted!!! Richard Lyon 207 Posted 23/08/2015 at 10:13:15 If anyone has any doubt about this being a great signing then watch this:https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=RYmmM1NW0h0Please let this happen and soon! Sam Hoare 209 Posted 23/08/2015 at 11:49:24 The longer we struggle/wait to tie this up, the higher the chance that someone else (bigger/richer) steps in. Especially given that he has started the season on fire! Danny Halsall 210 Posted 23/08/2015 at 11:58:57 Apparently he is at Zurich airport right now... Ray Roche 211 Posted 23/08/2015 at 12:06:53 Danny, are you a stalker? Brent Stephens 212 Posted 23/08/2015 at 12:11:51 Danny - source? or just sauce? Frank Crewe 213 Posted 23/08/2015 at 12:29:44 Just checked out the video. If he scores goals like that for us then come next summer all the moneybags clubs will be on him like a rash. Martinez will spend the summer window fending off Mourinho, LVG, Pellegrini, Wenger, maybe even Brenda. Although we could double our money on him. What was Stones this window will be much worse the next one. At the rate we are going we could be the next Southampton getting picked clean by the Sky vultures. Yarma, Stones, Barkley, Lukaku, McCarthy, Coleman, Mirallas. End up with plenty of cash but all our best players gone and our chances of making real progress along with them.. Brian Williams 214 Posted 23/08/2015 at 12:36:43 Nothing like looking on the positive side eh Frank? Ged Simpson 215 Posted 23/08/2015 at 12:51:58 Well better not buy him Frank Ray Roche 217 Posted 23/08/2015 at 13:05:53 Blimey, Frank, you're selling him before we've bought him. Danny Halsall 218 Posted 23/08/2015 at 13:59:20 Just on social media; and no, Ray, just well too excited about this possible signing. Brian Hill 219 Posted 23/08/2015 at 14:40:56 Frank, if he scores goals like that for us we will finish top four so won't have to worry about the Sky vultures... Jim Harrison 220 Posted 23/08/2015 at 14:41:01 Anyone can look good on youtube, but this bloke looks the real deal. If he comes in then and Stones stays the transfer window could be view as reasonably successful Chad Schofield 221 Posted 23/08/2015 at 14:54:54 Brin Williams 152, congratulations for one of the most surreal posts I've ever read on here! Complete genius though... 'Drum Head' is a particular favourite! Brin Williams 222 Posted 23/08/2015 at 15:07:07 Thanks Chad, cabbage is the best thing for breaking up ground such as gardens on first build sites etc.Perhaps Bill @ Co should get in a batch of seeds now and start planting on Walton Park in readiness for the super turf being laid!! Peter Davies 223 Posted 23/08/2015 at 15:15:38 According to the Mirror we've made a 㾻 million marquee signing... anyone got any idea how much I could get for my bouncy castle, hardly used?
